oo1 | Annie Grab Your Gun
Characters: Mami Tomoe and Y O U
Setting: Room 3-01, Cafeteria, floor three and floor four
Format: Starting with action, but I'll match.
Summary: Mami wakes up after almost being decapitated by Charlotte.
Warnings: Magical girl in despair, but other than that, nothing!
Room 3-01
[ Mami was certain that she was dead. There was no way she could have escaped that witch.
But this wasn't heaven, or even Hell for that matter. Though, after reading the letter she received, she thought Hell would have been a much better option for her. The world was gone, apparently, meaning she failed to save Madoka and Sayaka too. She was alone again.
If you're her roommate, feel free to break the silence. ]
Cafeteria
[ She had finished the oatmeal. It was bland and tasteless, but it was something to help fill the pit that was forming in her stomach. But no matter how much food she could eat, she knew that it wouldn't help her ease the loneliness she was feeling.
Mami rests her cheek on her hand, watching the people that were passing through the cafeteria. ]
Library
I apologize for bothering you, but there aren't any books here that could explain our situation better, right?
[ It was worth a try to ask someone. There had to be some book laying around here about what kind of apocalypse happened. She gave a soft smile as her hands were behind her back, waiting for some kind of answer. ]
Floor Four
[ Her journey through the tower mostly ended for the day with the fourth floor. This setting was rather depressing, wasn't it? She sat on one of the sofas, legs crossed gracefully as she stared outside the glass.
Everyone was gone. She couldn't wrap her thoughts around that. The tears that were forming stung her eyes and she quickly wiped them away. Magical girls didn't cry, after all.
But maybe once, she could allow a few tears to slip out. ]

So it seems I am a tad late. I guess my head was up in the clouds and not paying attention.
[ Or you know, in a witch's mouth.
Yeah. ]
It's nice to see you, again. Have you been well?

[She folds her hands behind her head, flashing Mami a grin.]
Your timing really sucks, y'know. Ya gotta start working on it, cause ya keep missing out on all the good stuff.
(ooc: I'm really sorry for how late this is!)

Good stuff? What have you been getting yourself into this time?

[She kicks her legs up on the table in front of the sofa, shaking her head as though it was the most ridiculous thing in the world. Her expression softens a bit though.]
...but y'know, Sayaka's sorta cool. She reminded me of a few things, y'know, about how things were when I first became a magical girl.
[These are things that she doesn't admit freely or often, but talking to Mami about this sort of thing feels natural even now--and really, she just likes bragging. She polishes off the nutrition bar, folding her hands behind her head and offering a slightly mischievous grin.]
I even remembered how to do that move.

Seems like you two are getting along now. I'm... Glad that Miki-san was able to help you out, with me gone and all. [ At least she knew that her death was unavoidable. She wasn't sad, though. It was expected. Yet if she did see that witch again she would give it another shot at killing it. ]
.... Really? You remembered.... [ Her face brightens up even more. ] That's wonderful, Kyoko. Have you used it at all since you've been here, I wonder?

So... You met Miki-san and the others?

[A beat. There's something that's been bothering her for awhile now. Something she was never able to get an explanation for in life.]
What were ya thinking, encouraging those two to take up this life? Especially Sayaka. Ya should've known what sorta wish a person like that would make.
[Or rather, what kind of mistake.]
(ooc: I'm so sorry for being so slow! Holiday time is a killer for me. Feel free to drop this if you don't feel up to continuing!)

[ There wasn't nothing Mami could really say right now. She felt bad for bringing them into this. If she had heeded Homura's warning, then maybe she could have lived. She showed off too, and in the end she was defeated. ]
I did give them a choice. I took them on a few witch hunts to show them that it was difficult. I even warned Miki-san that making a wish like that was dangerous.
When Kaname-san told me she wanted to fight alongside me, I was happy. I... Wasn't alone anymore. I thought maybe, once again, I could have someone with me again.

[But those words are like a knife to Kyoko; far worse than any insult or physical blow that Mami could deal. At least then can choose to fight back, to bury all of the guilt under cheap justifications and scathing remarks. This was different, though. Somehow worse.
After everything that's happened, she supposes that she at least owes her senpai an explanation. She's silent for a moment, before she begins to speak again:]
But...I guess it was my fault too, huh. You know, I thought I was doing ya a favor by leaving, 'cause I couldn't fight witches with you anymore. I was pretty useless without my magic back then, y'know. I couldn't fight like you could. I told myself that if I'd stayed, I would've gotten ya killed too. It was frustrating! I couldn't stand it! So I decided I'd get stronger. If I was just going to wind up hurting the people around me, I'd only look out for myself.
[After her family's death, Mami had been the only family she had left to protect and she had failed to do that. Then again with Sayaka. With the shake of her head, Kyoko laughs unpleasantly.]
Looks like all that did was leave us both alone. [And dead.] I still wasn't able to protect any of the things that were important to me.
[Like you, Mami. And the rest of her family. Not even Sayaka.]
