Floor 27 (locked to Hojo)

There was no warning when Rei Ayanami's body changed. The girl didn't even have time to gasp before her mind and her body finally gave out before the overwhelming energy of her core.

Her body collapses into a white, constantly shifting mass. The only thing it has in common with her form seconds ago is its mouth filled with jagged teeth and the thousands of eyes that litter whatever shape it takes. Sometimes it has wings, other times arms and legs spouting at strange angles, and other times spines and tentacles. Once, the center of the mass even turns into Rei's normal eyes and face. No matter how it shifts, the glow of its core shines from within its body. It is too bright. It seems to be something that might explode any second.

Heeee~ey. Brothers? Where are you?

The gaping maw sings in a language unfamiliar to the ears, but all too comprehensible to the mind

Come back. Come stay with me. Let us all be one.

It reaches out, trying to find its brethren. At the same time, it is listening for anyone to possibly respond to its message.

Throughout the Tower

The thing that once was Rei creeps through the tower, sometimes walking on strange limbs, other times shuffling forward because it can't hold a form. Those in the area may feel the heat radiating from its body. Every few "steps," it stops, as if it has thought of something or entered a familiar place.

Those are the only moments that "Rei" can actually think. But what remains of the girl's mind has too many questions and too few answers. What is she now. Where is she. What is she doing. And even that moment is all too brief before the Angel's songs fill her mind again, leaving her with only on urge.

She has to take her brothers back. Back to the womb of their Mother. All of humanity must be one existence again. Even if she must destroy their bodies, she will take them back.

When she encounters a human, her body will shift and lash out. If they are unfortunate enough to get too close, she will devour them with her jaws or envelop them with the ever-changing mass of her body. But her core glows. It is like what remains of Rei is giving those who would resist a chance to stop her.

[OOC: Jade!Eridan will be the one to finally kill Rei]

Idrial had been minding her own business walking through the Tower at her leisure. She usually does this throughout the day. It gives her the opportunity to encounter people she might not usually encounter if she stuck to her own dorm floor and changes in the Tower are also quickly noticed.

She could sense the creature before she saw it, a benefit of her elven senses. As she rounds the corner the already has her swords drawn. Her eyes widen ever so slightly as the creature is devouring another person but only for a moment as she moves into a defensive position.

"Do not come any closer foul creature. Go back to where it is you came from!"

With one last gulp, the creature finishes its gruesome meal.

If there is foulness, let it come to my embrace. I will purify it. I will wash away its sins. I will forgive.

It crawls toward Idrial, not heeding her warning.

Idrial has her sword pointed in the creatures direction, unaware of how little use it will actually be. She suddenly has an intense feeling to flee but that is not what she was taught and it's not how she became one of the best warriors of Lothlorien.

She does however take a few steps backwards as the creature approaches but otherwise stands her ground.

"You shall not devour any more innocent people today." And she changes her stance from on of defense to one of attack.

Tentacles start reaching out at the maiden.

I welcome the guilty and the innocent. If they are corrupted, I will purify them. If they are pure, I will embrace them.

And when the creature gets closer to her she will start to fight back to the best of her ability, slashing at the tentacles and dodging out of the way of them as best as she can...which doesn't seem to be working quite as well as she had hoped that's for sure.

Every time a tentacle is sliced off, another grows to take its place. The creature continues to lash out, not even showing a hint of slowing.

This fact does not stop Idrial, she will continue until the end. She would gladly give her life if it meant destroying this creature or at least distracting it long enough for someone else to end the situation. Though she has not seen anyone else around for some time now...

Idrial will be bold, moving closer, sword raised above her head as she takes a wide slash. Instead she loses her balance and stumbles just a little.

The reward for her risky maneuver is that most of the tentacles before her will be chopped off. However, a new tentacle winds its way along the ground, reaching for her ankle.

Idrial does not even begin to hope that the slash did the damage that she hoped it would. She knows for sure that it didn't have the desired effect and she quickly dodges the tentacle reaching for her ankle. Immediately she clutches the necklace around her neck, a gift from the Lady Galadriel herself and a bright light erupts from it

"By the light of Galadriel I will you and your darkness to leave this place!" Yep, she's really hoping that this light will have some effect on the creature.

The thousand eyes blink, but then more tentacles start spouting.

If you are a creature of the light, then come into my light, brightest of all.

More tentacles? How many tentacles does this thing have? She immediately drops the necklace from her hand, immediately knowing that it has had no effect. If only she could have her full power potential within these walls. Then maybe she would be able to stop this creature. She has grown so used to fighting alongside others.

"I see only darkness before me, not light."

How can a messenger of Heaven be cloaked in darkness?

Her body is shifting and changing. Not just tentacles, but spikes begin spouting out as well. As long as the core exists, she can regenerate almost infinitely.

"A messenger of Heaven? No it cannot be so. A messenger of Heaven would not travel around killing people who have done nothing wrong."

She says that without any hesitation for she knows it to be true. Her sword has lowered ever so slightly without her noticing as she was talking. It seems at the moment she is more engaged in the argument they seem to be having over the creatures darkness rather than the fight itself.

I give not death but eternal life. Eternal life within Mother's form.

With that, she launches her spikes. She too believes the truth of her own words. She would prove it with force if necessary.
