glitchinprincess: (Just a mistake...)
Vanellope von Schweetz | It's just pixlexia, okay? ([personal profile] glitchinprincess) wrote in [community profile] towerofanimus2012-12-09 05:35 am

Definitely not a "vurp" and definitely not something she wants to taste

Characters: Vanellope and anyone who's willing to talk to a brat with dirty hair!
Setting: First floor cafeteria.
Format: Either or! I'll be starting with action, but I'll follow your lead if you want something else.
Summary: Vanellope has discovered that she has to eat oatmeal and she is not amused.
Warnings: May be vaguely spoilerish if you haven't seen Wreck-It Ralph yet. Also, Vanellope gives inappropriate nicknames.

[This day was already turning out to be way weirder than Vanellope wanted to deal with. The last thing she remembered-- those creepy bugs coming out of the ground, and a crash, and Ralph yelling, and then--

...waking up here, and finding that weird note. Luckily the words were all simple enough for her to understand. Unluckily... the words were all simple enough for her to understand. No way could Sugar Rush have been destroyed! Glitches couldn't leave their game, right? And... and...

But those bugs, A small, nagging voice in the back of her mind whispered. Remember those bugs?

She didn't want to deal with it.

Another thing she didn't want to deal with? The jumpsuits. Uh, hello? Totally not her style! Her hoodie was much better racer material, thank you. She'd changed clothes and grabbed a handful of candy from her trunk ASAP.

Exploring the tower was something she definitely needed to do. She found herself at the bottom floor cafeteria more quickly than she would have thought - idly bringing a piece of licorice up to her lips to chew on, she passes through the doors.

A moment later, just after swallowing, she gags. Both hands fly up to her mouth and she makes a dash for the nearest trash can, jumping up to empty her stomach into it.]

What--?!

[When the vomiting subsides, she hops back down onto the floor and eyes the licorice suspiciously.]

...bad licorice.

[With that, she pops a mint into her mouth. A moment later, she has to jump back up to the edge of the trash can. This is not okay. She's sure she could have some fun with it if it didn't make her stomach hurt so bad... but it does hurt. And it's not just one or two candies. She's trying it out with everything she's got, and the result's the same every time. Finally, she collapses on the ground next to the trash can, her face a little green.]

This really stinks!

[His attention isn't caught at first, since Rider is deeply engrossed in a book he'd brought with him, but the sounds of retching can't be ignored the second time, even in his fervor for reading The Odyssey for an uncountable time. He glances up, knowing right away that it must be a case of someone not warning a new arrival, but he's surprised to see how young (and odd, but that's more of a sidenote) looking the new arrival is. He makes a noise of discontent, but immediately sets his book aside and stands so that he can walk over to meet her. And waits until she's finished barfing to speak up...]

Ahh, girl, you will find that all of your food will give the same result. It is a strange thing, I understand, but you will find that if you should eat some of the oatmeal first, it will not produce such a violent reaction.

[He's surprised, naturally, but in large part because he's surprised that there is anyone else that he could be mistaken for. Even at a measly seven instead of nine, he sticks out quite a lot. Still, once she's hopped back, he rubs the back of his head awkwardly, crouching on one knee to be (slightly) more at her height.]

I certainly meant no trick! Only to aid a new arrival, for I was lucky to receive great hospitality upon my own arrival.

[There's a brief pause, as he considers how to introduce himself, but decides on something a bit less grandiose than he might pick normally.] I am Alexander III of Macedon, young one.

[He chuckles, since he's relieved that the case of mistaken identity has past relatively quickly. It's not surprising by this point to hear that she doesn't know of his kingdom, as old as it is, but it's still a bit disappointing. Of course, not that it shows at all, since he grins in response to her question.]

Hardly a knight! Quite a bit greater than that, in fact! I am a king, and Macedon is my kingdom. And I suppose knowing where it is matters little, for it you will not find it here.

[He laughs more fully, his eyebrow raised] Indeed I do not! I take it that you have perhaps met a king with one, based on that comment.

[But he's happy to talk about his kingdom, so he doesn't really wait for a response] Ahh, so indeed! It is something of a complicated matter, for my kingdom is long gone to the past, in one sense, but also never far, for the pride of kingship never leaves my heart.

But it is not also of my own choice that I am here, nor any others, as you will find. We are all here as captives, though our captors would think otherwise, it would seem. Did you find a letter when you awoke?

It is one of the mysteries that we face, for I have heard of no confirmation to its claims. Some believe it to be true, certainly, but it is something I believe that each person much decide to believe or not on their own.

[He's still torn on it, personally. He's heard claims that would certainly help him to believe it, such as the pain that those connected to their worlds feel upon going to one of the floors supposedly displaying their worlds, but it was more than difficult to believe. So he had taken the stance of hope until faced with certainty.

And, as such, despite the serious tone and expression he takes for the first statement, his smile returns for the second.]
But there is also no reason to lose the hope that they may still exist. Ahh, though with that much, it still remains that we are stuck seemingly far from them!

I suppose that is a possibility! It is a bizarre circumstance we find ourselves in, so it would be a mistake to carelessly eliminate possibilities, eh?

[He chuckles] But for now, we are brothers and sisters in captivity and arms, it would seem! So though I may not be your friend, I welcome you with good will that we are not necessarily provided by our hosts.
