Stairs and exploring and capes, oh my!

Characters: Vanellope & Tohko, and Vanellope & you on other floors!
Setting: Floor 15, Floor 08 and Floor 21
Format: Any! I'll follow what you do~
Summary: Following Tohko's success at making Vanellope eat her oatmeal, she offers to make her a cape and the two of them go exploring. After that, Vanellope takes off on her own and is, well, herself.
Warnings: Wreck-It Ralph spoilers by virtue of Vanellope being herself, general childishness that may grate on one's nerves

Floor 15 - Vanellope and Tohko.
[Vanellope had been chattering Tohko's ear off the whole way there - every floor they passed through prompted more and more questions - What's that? and Can I go over there? and How long has this been here? and so on. When they're just one floor away, she grins impishly and darts on ahead of her.]

Race you to the workshop!

Floor 08.
[Vanellope's explorations have landed her smack-dab into a maze, and not realizing that the safest way through is to keep one hand on the wall, she's already taken a few turns. She's starting to feel a little turned-around and mixed-up, but she figures with enough time she should be able to figure this one out.]

Okay, so I just took a left, which means now I want to take a right...

Floor 21.
[She has quite literally had enough of stairs. The spiral staircase makes her dizzy and her feet are starting to hurt - she's used to driving, not walking. She'd made it down to the first floor from the maze and had immediately taken the elevator up - whatever, she'll just explore one of those floors. When she steps out of it on the twenty-first floor, her eyes light up.

The mouthwatering smells of food that is not oatmeal or nutrition bars wafts towards her, and a small little smile works its way onto her face. Now this is more like it.

She wanders into the restaurant.

Moments later, she makes her way back to the elevator and plops down, pouting.]

What is this, some kind of fetch quest?!

[Why yes, that's exactly what it is, Vanellope.]

Floor 15

[Tohko, always happy to help out, had been dealing with Vanellope's questions as best she could, even though she didn't know the answers to everything. At the sudden deceleration of a race, Tohko chuckles again. This kid was adorable.]

Alright then! Last one there is a rotten egg!

[Tohko managed to run past Vanellope. After all, even though Tohko wasn't the fastest person, she was still just a kid.]

Rotten egg?! Ewwwww!

[She laughs, doing her best to keep up - but Tohko's legs are longer, and there's only so many extra steps Vanellope can take to compensate.]

Aww man...

[Tohko laughed as she managed to run inside the workshop before Vanellope. While she waited, she looked around the room, assessing the materials. It looked like there was enough cloth to make a cape, and other materials to make racecars with later. When Vanellope does run in the room, Tohko will give her a small grin.]

What kept you? I was waiting here for ten years!

You're lookin' pretty young for someone who's ten years older now!

[She skips on over and jumps up to peek at the different kinds of cloth.]

So how do you make capes?

[tohko_amano]

[Tohko smiled at that.]

Well, when you have special powers and potions, you can look a lot younger than you are!

[This obviously, was a joke, and Tohko walked over to the girl, looking over the kinds of cloth..and a few chains. Just a simple cape wouldn't do. The tie might come undone easily and fall. For her, she'd secure it with a proper chain.]

Well, first you have to pick out what type of cloth you like.

I waaaant...

[She looks over each of the pieces of cloth, hmming and trying to decide which one she liked best. Finally she reaches down and piles one up in her arms, then holds it out to Tohko. It's almost the same color as her skirt, but not quite - maybe a little lighter.]

...this one!

[Tohko nodded and with a grin, took the cloth from Vanellope before grabbing some nearby scissors and some thread. She'd thicken the cloak a little bit so that Vanellope wouldn't be too chilly. Tohko sat down in a nearby table as she cut at the fabric.]

Alright then! Now, you just have to wait a little while while I just it out and sow it. Then we can put a chain on it for you.

What kind of a chain? Can it be a pretty chain? Or a regal one like a princess would have on her cloak?

[tohko_amano]

It can be any chain you want! It looks like there's a pile of them over in that corner. Pick any one you want!

[Toho pointed over to the far left corner, where a pile of chains did reside.]

[She scampers over to the corner, eagerly digging through the chains and tossing them aside before she finally comes up with one she likes. Then she runs back to Tohko, doing her best puppydog eyes as she holds out the chain, which is made of silver links stretched between two small discs of silver with sparkling gems set in the middle.]

This one, pretty please with a cherry on top?

[By then, Tohk had managed to cut out the cloak and was just starting to sow it up when Vanellope came back holding a cute chain. With a smile and a nod, Tohko quickly finished up the sowing before taking the chain.]

Sure! This one shouldn't be too hard to attach..

[Tohko put one of the discs on one side of the cloak before sowing it in place before doing the same to the other cloak. She really was getting good with the needle. She then handed it to Vanellope. It may have been a little long, but it should keep her warm.]

Here you go! All done!

Thank you, my royal seamstress!

[She grins impishly and wraps the cloak around herself, allowing it to settle over her shoulders before she closed the chain. It was definitely long on her; the edges of the cloak trailed onto the ground. But she didn't mind. The more material there was, the easier it would be to bundle herself up.]

This is good work! Fit for a princess!

[Tohko chuckled at the nickname and bowed as Vanellope wrapped herself up.]

Your quite welcome, you're highness. I am almost unworthy to accept such high praise from you, milady.

Tut, tut. As your wise and wonderful princess I can give out compliments when I want to.

[She giggles and spins around, watching as the fabric of her cloak ripples around her.]

Look, look! This is fun!

As you wish, milady.

[Tohko then chuckled as she spun around.]

That does look like fun! Now that we have something warm for you, want to go to the gym and see how the track looks?

Okay! How much further up is it? Will you carry me if I get tired?

Pleeeease?

It's only twenty-three more floors. We can manage it. And sure, I'll carry you!

[After all, Vanellope didn't look that heavy..and Tohko didn't think she'd tire easily.]

[She giggles and takes one step, two steps, three... and then she falls over, rolling onto her front and propping herself up by the elbows]

Okay! I'm tired! Pick me up!

[tohko_amano]

[Tohko chuckled. She was obviously lying, but carrying her wouldn't be too hard. However, that didn't mean that she wasn't going to comment on it.]

You're tired already? It's good that we're visiting the gym then. Maybe running around will strengthen your legs!

[Tohko then picked up the girl and started to carry her, bridal style. It was the easiest way.]

[She giggles as Tohko picks her up and snuggles into her cloak. Sigh, this kid likes being carried almost as much as she likes driving.

[Thankfully, Vanellope wasn't that heavy, and she didn't mind it when she snuggled into her cloak. Even though she had a cape, Vanellope must have been a little cold.

Eventually, they reached the inside of the gym, and Tohko put Vanellope down.]

Alright then! We're here!

[She looks over the gym with an appraising eye. The workout machines and weights don't really interest her, but the track -- well! She darts off to the edge of it, her cape trailing behind her, and kneels down to touch the ground.

Not a bad material...

Then she hops back up to her feet and spreads her arms out to measure about how big a kart would be. It could probably fit, maybe. A child-sized go-kart was not very big.

One for Tohko though... that one would have to be a little bigger]

Come here come here come here! I need to check something!

[Tohko chuckled and started to run over.]

Alright, I'm coming!

[Tohko stopped when she got next to Vanellope. Hopefully the track was big enough for her.]

What do you need to check?

Sit down like you would if you were driving! I need to see what size your kart's gonna hafta be!

Alright then. Let's see..

[Tohko tried to sit in the air, and while she wibbled and wobbled occasionally, she managed to keep her balance and not fall over. Well..for the moment, anyway.]
