If I can no longer feel a thing..
Characters: Tohko Amano and anyone who wanders by.
Setting: Dorm Room 1-09.
Format: Starting in prose, but I'll match you!
Summary: Tohko wakes up to find that she's lost her flu symptoms..and her ability to feel things.
Warnings: None right now.
When Tohko woke up that morning, if she hadn't know that she had fallen asleep in her own bed last night, she would have worried about where she was. She couldn't feel the bed beneath her, the freezing cold, and she couldn't tell if she was still running a fever or not. She couldn't feel a thing, and since she couldn't see anything either, she was afraid to leave her bed and move about. She could hear things..but that was about it. She couldn't use her crutch anymore, and it wasn't like she would be able to tell where walls were. Scared and sad, due to being cut off from everything she liked, Tohko began to cry..not that she could feel the tears. She could only hear her sobs. Out of desperation, she cried out.
"Please, is anyone there? If you can hear me..please, talk to me! I..I need your help."

He had spent more time in his dorm since coming back but in an attempt to keep himself sane had chosen to go for a walk. He'd passed the door when the abrupt cry, turning to look at the door like it was a snake. A cry for help - one of many, surely. Without thinking (it was the dorm, it couldn't be a trap could it?) he reached forward to peek inside the door, unsure of what he'd find. A girl?]
What is wrong? Are you hurt?

Oh, thank you for coming in. I'm sorry..but I can't see or feel anything. Please, could you get me out of bed?
no subject
Could you see or hear before coming here? [It's worth asking] Is there anyone in particular you wish me to take you to? Don't worry, I won't leave you alone. This all must be very frightening.
[He wonders if being without sight and touch feels like floating but doesn't press the thought.]
no subject
I could..it's this darn flu. It's taken away almost all my senses.
[Tohko sighed.]
Thank you..I was going to go to the cafeteria first. Even if I can't feel hunger, if I don't eat, I'll die. After that..I was going to go to the library..but I'm not sure what I'll do there, or even after that.
[Tohko sighed and nodded again.]
Again..thank you..this is rather horrible. By the way..what's your name?
[It did feel like floating all alone in a dark pit. However, that was something Tohko did not want to experience. Being cut off from people was something she feared.]

We will get you something to eat and then see what happens next. I can only imagine.
[It's weird knowing his touch is not felt but he's careful in scooping her up] France. I actually live in 1-10. I was going on a walk when I heard you and had to investigate. What's yours? I feel like I should know if I am to carry you around.
[It's not a burden-- his tone is airy enough that it's bordering on teasing.]
no subject
[Tohko didn't feel him, but she did hear him picking her up.] Oh, you don't have to carry me if I'm too heavy! I don't want to be a bother.
[However, she did keep smiling. Another person calling themselves a country.] I see..it's nice to meet you then, France. I'm lucky you decided to take a walk when you did then. And I'm Tohko Amano, the book girl. Pardon..but you wouldn't happen to know a boy named Prussia, would you?
no subject
His test subjects experiencing happiness? Nonsense ma chere. We simply cannot oblige that notion!
[He snorted, shifting her weight in his arms easily enough. If he could carry the weight of being a nation he could tote around a young girl until she said no more. He smiles at the mention of Prussia.]
Don't worry your head. As for Prussia, yes. He's an old friend of mine. [pause] He's not done anything... too ridiculous has he?
no subject
Of course not! If they start to get used to the cold, start burning down the meadows and the libraries to burn them up and make them sad!
[At the thought, Tohko almost sighed..but she didn't want to make France worry. He was obviously trying to cheer her up, so she wasn't going to ruin his attempts. His voice had gotten lower though..was he afraid of Jason?]
Alright then..I won't worry too much then. [Tohko then nodded.] Ah, alright then. And no, don't worry! He hasn't done anything foolish. He's a friend of mine..but since you both have the names of countries, I thought you might know each other. Pardon..but why are you named after countries? Are you the personification of them..or something of the sort?
no subject
You're a smart girl, ma petite. That we are. Personifications are a fabulous term for them. Just don't get into a conversation with him about our younger years. He likes to boast how he's better and we all know that is hardly the case.
[Shaking his head, to himself as she could not see, he went for the door. Maybe he'll get lucky and not be interrogated for carrying around helpless girls. Paranoid people...honestly!]
Do you like music, Tohko?
no subject
Ah, thank you, but I'm not that clever. Things like that have popped up in stories, so I just thought that you and Prussia were like them. And I tried to get him to talk about his younger days..but he just avoided the subject. Then again..I can't really blame him.
[After all, Prussia had faced quite a bit of hardship and always fought to live. Trying to be cheerful, Tohko moved away from that depressing thought.]
However, I don't think he's better than the rest of you. And of course I like music! Of course, it's usually best when some de-erm, wonderful lyrics are put to it, but even when there aren't any, I still enjoy it.

[He sounds like he's close to laughing. Gilbert has a bad friend in Francis, he really does.]
[He's gotten decent with carrying someone and walking down stairs, he idly realizes. The question had been for a reason though.]
Did you know there is a floor devoted to music here? I've only been in there briefly though it seems innocent enough. I think you could use something beautiful in your life, all things considering. I could take you there. [a thoughtful pause] Or, we could keep with the plan of going to the library if it pleases you.
[He could honestly use a little company and something to do.]
no subject
Well, maybe you can pay him back with some embarrassing lyrics or bad wine later.
[Tohko nodded at the question.]
There is, actually! I've been in there before. If my memory is correct, it should be on the twenty-eight floor. And no, I don't mind going to the music floor. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what I'd do once I got to the library. There are audiobooks there..but I haven't been able to find anything that'll play them, and I can't read braille. Listening to music would be fun.
