If I can no longer feel a thing..

Format: Starting in prose, but I'll match you!
Summary: Tohko wakes up to find that she's lost her flu symptoms..and her ability to feel things.
Warnings: None right now.


When Tohko woke up that morning, if she hadn't know that she had fallen asleep in her own bed last night, she would have worried about where she was. She couldn't feel the bed beneath her, the freezing cold, and she couldn't tell if she was still running a fever or not. She couldn't feel a thing, and since she couldn't see anything either, she was afraid to leave her bed and move about. She could hear things..but that was about it. She couldn't use her crutch anymore, and it wasn't like she would be able to tell where walls were. Scared and sad, due to being cut off from everything she liked, Tohko began to cry..not that she could feel the tears. She could only hear her sobs. Out of desperation, she cried out.

"Please, is anyone there? If you can hear me..please, talk to me! I..I need your help."

Shiro gently helped her take the glass of milk she'd poured for her and bring it to her lips.

"That's too bad. They taste really good. And Shiro doesn't know how to describe how chocolate tastes. Because chocolate tastes like nothing else. Chocolate tastes like chocolate."

Tohko couldn't feel the liquid that Shiro helped put into her mouth, but while it was surprising, she was able to use her ears and her imagination to drink it all down before replying.

"I-its' alright! I can imagine what chocolate tastes like when I normally eat, so it's okay. It's nothing to worry about."

Shiro didn't really look convinced by Tohko's answer. But since she had no way to solve the issue, she just shrugged and plopped yet another cookie into her mouth.

"When we go back to Tohko's room, Shiro could read a story to Tohko."

Tohko couldn't tell that Shiro didn't look convinced, but she did smile at those words.

"Ah, thanks Shiro! I'd appreciate that. Thank you."

"What's Tohko's favorite story?"

"Oh..I don't have a favorite. There are so many that are delicious, like The Master and Margarita, The Great Gatsby, Run, Melos!, Peter Pan..I can't choose!"

"Shiro knows Peter Pan... but not the others."

"If you haven't heard of the others, you should read them sometime! I'm sure you would enjoy them!"

"Shiro can read one of those to Tohko today!"

Tohko's smile grew a little at that.

"Thank you, Shiro! I would love it if you did!"
