Hacking #06: Electricity Training (Closed)

Summary: One lightning user teaches the other ways in which their powers can be used, besides the usual zapping things.

[The lounge floor had quickly become one of the floors April tended to relax on, along with the meadow floor, if only because it had couches to sprawl out on. Which is what April is doing today, though today she has a piece of metal in her hands which she's twisting into different shapes with electricity.

Though she turns her attention away from that when she hears someone else walking around, and she gives a small wave when she sees who it is.]

[Blink. And then she smiles a bit.] You really think so?

[scentofmakai]

Absolutely! I'm sure of it.

[technologic]

... Thanks, Zett. That's... that's nice to hear. [Even if she doesn't really believe it.]

So, teacher. What's after bending metal?

[technologic]

Either moving it or breaking it, your pick. Then you can deflect bullets or shatter swords.

[scentofmakai]

Let's try breaking it first. I can already kind of put up a shield.

[technologic]

Right. Well, it's kinda like bending it, since you're sending electricity into it still. But this time you need to spread it throughout the metal at a high enough strength to shatter it. You maaay shock yourself a few times before you get the hang of it, though.

[scentofmakai]

I'm not worried about that. I can handle a few shocks.

[technologic]

Mm, that's good. Then this time, send a strong amount of electricity throughout the metal, rather than focusing it all on a certain point.

[scentofmakai]

[He focuses, and the metal warps in random directions but doesn't break.]

...hmmmm... No good?

[technologic]

Hmm... Up the strength a bit, and try to imagine all the electricity you're sending in is expanding the metal outwards as far as it can go and then even further.

[scentofmakai]

Got it, teacher. [The second try, after shocking himself a little, is a success: the metal breaks.]

[technologic]

Aha, you did it! [Said teacher looks pleased.]

How long have you been able to do this?

[technologic]

Hmm... For around a year or so now, I think. I managed to get the hang of it kinda quickly since I did this in fights a lot.

[scentofmakai]

Usually I just beat them fast enough that they can't hit me anyway.

[technologic]

Most of the people I've fought against use guns or knives, which is where this comes in useful. Take those out, and they're usually pretty helpless.

... Plus it's kinda funny to watch them panic as their weapons explode into pieces.

[scentofmakai]

I'll give you that. This'll come in handy then!

[technologic]

Ehe, exactly! [She nods and then reaches onto her coat pocket and pulls out another piece of metal, which she holds out to him.] Here, it should be a bit easier to do now that you got how to do it.

[scentofmakai]

[That metal gets so broken it isn't even funny.]

[technologic]

[And teacher is very pleased.] Awesome! You're really good at this.

I'm a quick study. Do I get a gold star?

[April giggles and electricity sparks around her hand as the broken pieces of metal float back up and reform themselves into the shape of a star.]
