[05] || [One Ring to Rule them All] || [Closed]
Characters: Gandalf, Frodo and those they called to the council.
Setting: Cathedral Floor
Format: Action
Summary: Frodo has with him a certain ring yet he cannot reach Mount Doom to destroy it. So Gandalf sent a note to a few people for a small council to be held so as to discuss the matter of utmost importance that is the ring, as it is destroying Frodo's mind and can theoretically fall into very bad hands.
Warnings: Nothing. Well, Frodo may suffer of the repercussion of what'll happen to the ring.
The Cathedral Floor was handy to organize big or small reunion-- This one was a small one and unlike Reunion that may have been held there before, this one had not been made to look fancy. ... It was Elrond's duty to make fancy-looking reunion after all. No, Gandalf had simply set a table and chairs around it so that the few people summoned could sit down and discuss.
To each of them he had sent a letter with their name on it explaining in very short why he needed them, to help Frodo (a personal matter, but if the ring was to fall in the hand of dangerous individuals in the tower, it wouldn't be so personal any more). Obviously enough, Gandalf and Frodo would be the first to be there of course.
Oh, and the room is magically protected. Non invited people and eavesdropper, you shall not pass.

he glanced over at gandalf, the two sitting side by side, offering a faint, pale smile. ]
I feel as if I am at the start of my journey, but at the same time, it's something else entirely.
[ there was something in his face then. i'm not certain this will do any good, his eyes seemed to say, but for the most part he was impassive, watching the people file in, glancing over at any he might have called familiar. here he was, face oddly blank, if not for the exhaustion written on every part of his face. ]

To help someone...he was still good at that. He could still do that. He may still be preoccupied by thoughts of his trip home, but his conscience was still very much alive. He took the note and made his way to the cathedral, stepping off the staircase and making his way towards the pews where the others sat. He doesn't know who Frodo is, but if this is him...well, he looks like he needs help. Old eyes are met with other old eyes, silently pledging what help they can give.*

the people here he knows are not all bad, some are good, helpful -- he would not see them be tainted by something he must contain himself. ]

While he's planned to come by himself, Highwind has been refusing any command along the line of "Stay" and "Sit" since about Christmas and so the bat is coming along, claws lightly digging into Riku's shoulder - grin widening and ears twitching when he recognizes Frodo from the Christmas party. So does Riku (recognize him that is), though he just offers a wave and a sympathetic frown upon seeing how tired he seems.]
Bad nights?
[That's something he's more than familiar with.]

I remember you. Highwind, wasn't it? Though I don't believe I ever received your name.
[ that question gives him pause, and frodo blinks a little, uncertain of how to say it, but he isn't wrong. bad nights are familiar to him. ]
Ah, yes. I imagine many have bad nights here. It isn't the most accomodating place, is it?
