Summary: Rei shows Ryoji how to kill monsters

Night, a time when many have already returned to their rooms for fear of the monsters roaming around. One solitary figure, though, remains outside, rocking on her heels, humming a cheerful song to herself. It seems normal enough for a girl her age, but is a little at odds with her frigidly beautiful appearance and the dark surroundings. She seems to hold no fear for the monsters, though she does take care to avoid their attacks.

It is no accident that she is out here at this time. She promised to show someone something. In a way, this is for her a ritual of bonding. Thus, she will not touch the monsters. Not until her partner arrives.

When Ryoji arrives, he will find her waiting still. Alone, unarmed, but beaming.

"And we'd hunt down all the bad guys. We could be like the Avengers."

[notsogrimreaper]

"The Avengers? Who are they?"

[terreifying]

"Well, they're a really popular team of superheroes...and they're a really popular pair of secret agents. It depends on what you're watching. We'll be the secret agent Avengers."

[notsogrimreaper]

"Okay, sure! We can be the Avengers, then."

It sounds silly, but Ryoji is a little happy to play pretend once in a while.

[terreifying]

"We'll have to call each other Mr. and Mrs. then. Since it's what the secret agents do."

[notsogrimreaper]

"Huh? Are you sure? That makes it sound like we're married."

[terreifying]

"Then I can be a Miss. I'm not married to anybody."

Besides, you only married people who you loved, and Rei already had people who she loved.

[notsogrimreaper]

"Ah, right. I didn't expect you to be."

Ryoji couldn't even think about marrying anyone... that would involve having a romantic relationship, and he's not sure he can have that with what he is.

[terreifying]

She nods.

"And you? You're not married either, right?"

[notsogrimreaper]

"No, of course not! I'm way too young!"

Does he look like he'd have the courage to propose? Even if he does give Minako a ring in the female route.

[terreifying]

"Youth doesn't matter as long as you love each other."

[notsogrimreaper]

"I guess that's true. Still, I don't think it's really an option for me."

[terreifying]

She looks at him curiously.

"Why not?"

[notsogrimreaper]

"I-I don't think anybody would be so accepting of me as to love me. I could have friends, maybe, but..."

[terreifying]

"My Mommy and Daddy accepted me enough to love me. And...if the person I love wasn't taken already, I think he can accept me. So there's definitely wonderful people out there who can accept and love you! You just have to give it lots of time."

[notsogrimreaper]

"I... probably won't have time with anyone except Minato-kun once I return back to where I was."

[terreifying]

"Mi...nato? I know a Minato here."

[notsogrimreaper]

"W-Wait, he is? I haven't seen him."

He almost doesn't want to let himself believe it.

[terreifying]

"Yeah, he's here. At least he was, around Halloween. I'm sure he'd be glad to see you again."

[notsogrimreaper]

"I'd be glad to see him too..."

He at least got to talk to Minato in the Seal, but... seeing him again, actually being able to look at his face...

[terreifying]

"Tell him that Rei said hi too when you guys run into each other."

[notsogrimreaper]

"I definitely will!"

[terreifying]

At this point, the elevator signals that it has reached its destination with a pinging sound.

"Ooh, we're here."

[notsogrimreaper]

Ryoji nods and follows Rei out, clearly excited.

"So what do you know how to make, Rei-chan?"

[terreifying]

"Noodles, eggs, maybe even pancakes. I can follow recipes if I need to."

Though given the cafeteria this month, they should try something with tomatos.
