Dormitory hallways

[Lancer doesn't know why he seems to be getting strange looks as he heads out from his room. His dress and hair is no different from how it looked the previous day; in fact, he had switched over to this getup years ago.]

[As a Servant, he didn't age. Nor could he really track exactly how many days had passed. However, one day, he just outgrew his former rough style. Now, his hair is better combed and his bangs are shorter. His armor had been swapped out for a pair of blue tights that allowed him smoother movement. Even if his face is the same as when he first came to this Tower, there's something in his eyes and his posture that makes him seem older.]

[But that change was from years ago. Everyone should have gotten used to it now. Maybe it was just some experiment making people crazy again.]

Floor 25

[Lancer likes this floor. That's one thing that hasn't changed. It's nice and relaxing and a good place to take a nap if he wants to slack off.]

[That's what he's doing right now, in fact. Sleeping and snoring away even though, as a Servant, he doesn't need it.]

Floor 38

[He's grown to appreciate the bar over the years, especially since he's polished off most of the beer he's gotten from home by now. Currently, he's lounging around in a beanbag chair, holding a cup of alcohol (he forgets what kind) and sipping at it.]

Floor 48

[He doesn't really know why he's here. After all, the graveyard never contains the names of those who need graves--the ones who had actually burned away their entire lives in this Tower. But it was a place that let him reflect on some things.]

[Like what some of the people whose names were carved here would say when they saw what the Tower had become now. Would that rabid dog of a Lancer regret what his Master had become? Would the Saber he had never known reject his or her other self? Would some of his old friends appreciate what he had become now?]

[It's just something he ponders as he perches on top of an angel sculpture, looking as relaxed as ever.]

[ She'll take a little more careful, honestly. Even if Lancer being a little more careful still pretty much means 'loose cannon', but.. ]

.. Thank you. [ At least she's still polite, yup. Maybe even more so, considering she hardly understood social norms when she was younger. ] If you do end up in too much trouble, you can always call me too.

As long as you don't accidentally hit the wrong target [ aka her ] if you get drunk.

Even if I'm drunk off my ass, I'd still be able to sniff out your sweet scent. I'd know where not to hit.

[ Once of the downsides about her being older? She's still super oblivious, so she couldn't tell that someone was still making semi-flirty comments even if she was slapped in the face with them. ]

[He wasn't the Hound of Culann for nothing. Even if he had stopped sniffing at people, his nose was still pretty good.]

What, you wanna test it out?

That depends.. I don't know how you'd test something like that.

[ But she looks pretty curious. ]

...Go ahead. Hide something of yours and tell me to track it down by scent alone. You can even blindfold me.

[He still has a game session to get to, but he can take a short detour to meet a challenge. Especially if it's of a type of challenge that he hasn't gotten in quite a well.]

You really could find it anywhere in the tower..? [ That's a superpower if she's seen one, honestly. ]

.. Ah, there's something else I wonder though.. if I was suddenly different, do you think I would smell different too?

[ What's up with that vague wording, Urotsuki. But she's talking about when she uses her effects, really.. ]

[Legendary heroes could do some pretty amazing (and crazy) things.]

Hm...I guess it would depend. Maybe your natural scent would be the same, but have things related to your transformation thrown in?

[He knows that people tainted by the Grail smell different from those who weren't.]

Let's try. [ It takes a moment, but then out of nowhere wolf ears sprout on top of her head, sticking out through her hair, and a large wolf tail grows right above her butt. Much like this, but now with her older form, of course. ]

There. Does that make me smell different..?

[redbranch]

[He takes several deep whiffs of the air around them.]

...A little, yeah. Wilder. More animal-like. A wolf, right?

[As similiar as they were, the scents of a wolf and a dog were distinct.]

I can still tell it's you, though.

.. It's true. You really are good at it. It's a wolf. [ And she demonstrates this by actually howling like a real wolf. No, seriously. It sounds pretty real.

Then she turns back to normal, the tail and ears disappearing. ]

[He gives a little impressed whistle.]

You know, all these years and I've never seen you do that.

[He had seen her change herself in other ways, but not the wolf yet.]

[stillchainsawing]

[ Her hands self-consciously reach to feel her hair a little, even though the ears aren't there anymore by now, obviously. ]

I didn't want anyone to mistake me for one of the animals here.. that's all. I like them, though.

[redbranch]

[He chuckles.]

Mistake a pretty lady like you for an animal? They'd have to blind!

[stillchainsawing]

[ LANCER, STOP HITTING ON HER... but then again, Urotsuki, zero sense of 'hey, I'm being hit on here'.. ]

I'm not that pretty though. .. I think, at least.. I'm just sort of average, aren't I?

[redbranch]

Nonsense. You're a beautiful lady. Hasn't your husband ever told you so?

[stillchainsawing]

[ Okay, she turns a little more bashful. But it's only a little, since Urotsuki will forever be Urotsuki. ]

.. He has. Of course he has.. [ Her voice trails off for a moment. ] He's really kind, and he compliments me.. he really is the best.

He's a great guy.

[Kidou had grown from an idealistic kid to a mature, responsible, and honorable man. Lancer could respect that.]

You guys are a good couple.

[stillchainsawing]

Thank you. [ She thinks so too. But then again, Urotsuki is heavily biased - she could never think anything bad about Kidou or their relationship. ]

I'm just really glad we got married here. Even thought I'm stuck here.. I couldn't be happier.

[redbranch]

[On one hand, it was an obvious development. When two people loved each other, they got married. It was a matter of common sense. But on the other hand, it was a miracle as well given that they were stuck in a Tower that like to torture its inhabitants.]

Guess it shows that good things can be found everywhere. As long as you're happy with each other, it doesn't matter where you are, right?

Yeah.. I think so. [ It's genuine. Not a moment of hesitation in the way she says it aside from her usual blankness. She truly believes that. ]

This place isn't that bad, either way. At least.. I think so. Yuuto's more worried about it.
