Setting: Workshop.
Format: Starting with Action, but I'll match you.
Summary: Nearly fifty years later and Eridan still sucks at this sewing thing.
Warnings: Heavy handed sexual innuendo, attempts to make your characters uncomfortable, lewd bad jokes, Eridan being as trigger-happy with that gun as ever. Also Eridan being the troll-equivalent of a vampire, so expect him to glow if startled and shamelessly ask if he can bite your characters.

[There's a jadeblood sitting on a workbench, struggling with thread, needle and a really long, red coat. He's grumbling at it, squinting between each stitch and occasionally growling ferally at it. Sunglasses stuck on his hair, which is still black and green, Eridan seems to be slightly absorbed with his task. The short sleeve tshirt he's wearing is not very well suited for the cold, at least not without his coat, but he doesn't seem to mind. He's no longer wearing his sign on it, as it's just plain black with a small detail in yellow lines near the hem. His sign is now on his pants, black as well, stitched in jade along the lower part of his right leg. Shame the whole thing is dirty and slightly stained by blood and things you probably don't want to know the origin of. Rifle is, as always, resting by his side, an easy snatch away.]

Every fuckin' time, I swear...

[He shakes the whole thing in frustration, as he's once again, stabbed the underside of a claw with that needle. You'd think he'd be better at this, given how long he's been here. But nope. Some things just never change.]

You're a darling, Rei, did you know that?

[Yep. Leeeeeeering, once again.]

[terreifying]

So I've been told.

[She looks down at his coat again.]

But we'll have to save shooting God for a later time. You seem to have a problem of a different sort right now.

[chronomancer]

Well, it's true.

[He grins slyly at her then he shows the coat and the tear on it.]

Bit of a hole that needs mending, yeah.

[terreifying]

Then I guess I'll have to help you plug it.

[She grins back at him.]

Your stitches are all over the place. No wonder you're not a doctor.

[chronomancer]

I'm good at making holes and I'm usually pretty good at plugging them.

[He leers at her over her word choice.]

So long it's flesh and not fabric. Fucking fabric, Rei, how does it even work?

[terreifying]

I'm a scientist. My life is spent plugging holes of different sorts.

[The line of logic makes sense to her, at least.]

For fabric, you're working on two different sides at once, so you need to work slower. Think of it as pouring a bullet. You can't go too fast or you'll hurt yourself.

[To demonstrate, she slowly sticks the needle in the cloth, pulls the thread through the patch with her opposite hand, and sticks it through the patch again to form a stitch without pricking herself.]

[chronomancer]

Well, I'm sure you've got it down to a science now.

[Eyebrow wiggle. Didja see what he did there? Did you?]

Bah, the fun part of bullets is how fast they go.

[But he does watch. He's watched this thousands of times before. You don't understand how many people have tried to teach him how to sew properly. It's just not a skill he'll ever develop, apparently.]

[terreifying]

It's just a matter of time.

[Wiggle back at you as she continues to sew on the patch.]

[chronomancer]

Good thing I've got all the time in the world, eh?

[terreifying]

Yep.

[She holds the needle and thread out to him.]

Now you try. Remember. All the time in the world.

[chronomancer]

Fine, fine.

[He tries. He gets three stitches in before the needle breaks.]

...well fuck.

[terreifying]

[She giggles before holding out a finger and letting it flatten and thin out until it becomes a needle attached to her hand by a slight fiber.]

Then try this one? But don't be too rough with it. It's still part of me.

[chronomancer]

[Eridan watches the transformation with slight interest. Then he grins.]

Aren't I always the most tender, hon? I'll treat you good.

[terreifying]

If you say so. Just don't go poking too many holes for me to plug.

[chronomancer]

[Eridan smiles at her with all his teeth, crooked fangs most of them.]

I'd never~

[terreifying]

Or rather, you haven't yet.

[Because as far as Rei could see Eridan always got into trouble. Or, rather, Rei got into trouble. When it came to Eridan, it was like trouble stalked him and then, at the right time, dragged him into it coat-first.]

So, how many years has it been for you?

[Though she's asking as part of her survey to see what was going on in the Tower, she doesn't really expect an answer. Like Rei, Eridan aged rather slowly.]

[chronomancer]

[He smiles innocently at that. Because there's no right answer to that, that wouldn't be incriminating. The smile turns predatory, however, at her question. Entirely too many fangs in it, but he's amused. He likes it when people are smart. Saves him the trouble of breaking their necks and getting them out of the way.]

Twenty four sweeps... lemme do the math that's...

[Hang on a second...]

'bout fifty two human years? Give or take, I could be wrong.

[Except we're talking about Time and Eridan's scrupulous when it comes to keeping track of it.]

[terreifying]

[She tries to calculate what that span of time would mean to her and to conceptualize how it would change the other Tower residents.]

Only that long? That's long enough for some of the humans to still be alive, right?

[The beast of the Cathedral had said something about hundreds of years. Rei herself knew that almost none of the humans from when she had first arrived were still alive. Those who were usually had some access to magic or technology that extended their lives.]

[chronomancer]

Linearly? Yes.

[Otherwise... well, otherwise, he's jumped a lot. But that's neither here nor now. He snickers.]

Don't think too hard, hon, you'll break your pretty head.

[terreifying]

Some would call it longer, just going linearly. Even I think it's been longer. What do you make of that?

[chronomancer]

That someone took the timeline, bent it over a counter and then went to town on its ass with something big, rusty and possibly spiky.

[Eridan shrugs.]

Mighty fucking migraine this morning.

[terreifying]

So would you say the Tower did it to everyone's timeline, or just ours? And as for the headache, I had it too. Just a little. Nothing worse than whatever else I've felt since living here.

[chronomancer]

Maybe. Depends on how they're managing timelines. They don't do alphas, you know? It's shoddy time management.

[Eridan snorts.]

And that's a real insult, coming from me.

[terreifying]

...Don't get too angry at them when this is all over, okay?

[She sounds genuinely worried. After all, time is Eridan's special domain.]

[chronomancer]

Oh, Rei, you know me. I never get angry.

[The word you're looking for is murderous. 8)]
