Setting: Floor 19, aka The Creepy Library.
Format: Either one. I'll follow you.
Summary: Ienzo rather likes this new library, save for the minor issue of HALF THE BOOKS BEING MISSING. He is not standing for this.
Warnings: None, so far.

Well, Tower, there’s a new library!

Now take a wild guess who’s the first one in it.

Yup, anyone who sets foot in the library will likely fiend Ienzo already traipsing around. Perhaps ‘traipsing’ is not the right word, though — he’s moving clearly as if he has an intent in mind, the intent being finding where all of the other books went. He doesn’t terribly care if this library is much more ominous and threatening in its ambiance, of course, though someone else might. So who knows? A small creature with a grave expression and a swooshy white coat might appear just slightly unnerving in this half-lit and half-stocked library.

[He turns around to find another one of those gray-skinned trolls walking towards him. Their population in this tower just seems to be going up and up and up, so it's little surprise that he ran into one.]

...either it was a last-minute error correction... or they're simply taunting us.

[True, chances are you'd run into a few of them here or there]

What sections have you found to be missing? Perhaps that is a clue in itself.

...history is completely empty... there are large gaps in psychology... as well as technology and astral projection. [He actually checked the entire place.]

I see. History is understandable considering all of us come from different worlds with different histories. The same goes with technology. But psychology is an interesting subject to omit and I am unsure what astral projection is.

...essentially... astral projection is the belief that... it is possible for an 'astral body' to float around like a spirit... separate of the physical body. [Hypothetical studies; he's learned about it before. He's not quite sure if he buys it, but there you are.] ...as for psychology... ... ...honestly... i believe the owners are trying to affect our minds anyway...

[she nods] I see. This is not a proven science is it? Are there enough books to warrant a whole section in a library? [another nod] Yes, that is true. By omitting the psychology section they could be hinting that there will be more mind games to come in the future. We should all be more wary than we already are.

no, it isn't proven. ...it was listed as part of a larger section, one which had gaps in it... but there was nothing on astral projection in the section itself. [He looks way too into this stuff for his own good.]

You are certain that astral projection would be there?

... ... ...if the subject listing was correct, yes. [If not, well, the owners were just lying again.]

I see. I wonder if they are testing us. Telling us what we need and what is missing for us to escape and return home. That or the possibility that we at this moment are astral projections.

...yes... that is possible. ...but i don't think we are astral projections... we have physical bodies, don't we...? [He holds one hand up slightly, to prove his point.]

Psychology is missing as well, perhaps we just believe that we have physical bodies.

...that... might explain the collars...

The collars as a bonding agent?

...possibly. or... they serve to create the illusion of a physical body.

That's a possibility, also explains why we need to keep being examined, to see how well the collars are doing their job. Color may indicate level of difficulty due to preexisting skills.

[He nods. This is actually getting him kind of excited, because holy crap, a breakthrough...]

...we... need to learn the collar colors of as many individuals as we can...

[He has a few people down already, and Romeo is doing all of these trolls, but...]

I made a post earlier on the network asking a few questions, collar color was one of those questions. We can go back and look at that post for reference as well.

I wonder if collar color can change do to happenings in the tower, say if one gets much stronger or weaker.

[Hang on a minute. Hang on. ... Yellow collar. Check. Network post? He remembered responding to one of those. There was definitely talk of collar colors. And the one he had talked to, one of the trolls because of their odd text color... it had been green, yes? And this one was wearing a similar shade of green on her shirt.]

[Oh man what if this was some other person/troll? What if he was wrong? She could just be wearing the green for now, or maybe it was just a one-time decision... what if what if what if...]

Yes, that was my post and how I type, in the color of the ♍ on my shirt. If You responded to it then you are aware of how many people responded. While it's only a small portion of people it is a start.

...yes. [He tacked all those people to his list.] ...we... were discussing the collaborative information pool, i believe...

Ah, it seems as if we have spoken before then. Forgive me for not connecting the two.

Have you collected any more information?

[He nods, in response to both the first and second statement. He didn't connect the two incidents either, at first. Looking at it now, it seems obvious that the trolls (seemingly the only people who type in such a way) would have to be the ones behind the query, and green text would be equivalent to green troll. He didn't meet the other green troll for very long but he was fairly sure that her green color was... erm, different. He never really bothered with color theory.]

On the second front, he had been working on mostly collar colors, granted. But those seem to be just as prominent as gauging how long the tower has existed -- and if Kanaya's theory is true, they have just become even more hugely significant.]

...if you wish... i could go and get my notebook right now.

I would like to see the information you have gathered. I have not transcribed mine from the computer but it may be wise to do so if they are taken away from us.

...you have it saved on a computer? [He didn't even know it was possible to do that. But even if he did, all these technological advancements still make him a little uneasy (especially the meaning of that mysterious Shift key), so he would probably keep it in a physical book so that he could monitor it more closely. Who knows what could be pried out of those systems?]
