Player Plot: KOS-MOS rampage.

Characters: KOS-MOS (

kosmic_angel) and everyone she’s going to kill.
Setting: All over the tower, your choices. Today only!
Format: prose to start but I’ll switch
Summary: Shion and Allen tried to build KOS-MOS a maintenance bed and it has some… unexpected difficulties. Like KOS-MOS going Archetype mode and killing everyone in sight. RUN!
Warnings: There’s going to be a lot of dying and it’s going to get gory.

When KOS-MOS had laid down in the makeshift maintenance bed that had been built for her, she hadn‘t expected anything to happen but for her power cells to be recharged like they normally would be. That, unfortunately, was not the case.

Upon waking, her systems had been… altered. Currently, all life signs were marked as hostile and her recognition software had been shutdown. Profiles of each individual she had met in the tower were sealed and she could access them. Priority programming went to combat and eliminating everything marked as a threat. She climbed out of the maintenance bed and used her transfer system to summon her scythe into existence.

And then she stalked out into the halls, visor down and blocking sight of her face and eyes. KOS-MOS walks normally, acts normal really, until she finds someone who is marked as a target. Meaning anyone and everyone.

Again, she said nothing. Perhaps her capability to communicate had been damaged by the apparent virus that had been fed into her system or she couldn't understand what was being said. She couldn't even recognize Tohko. And, either way, her systems couldn't be altered at this point. Programming was programming.

As Tohko made to run, KOS-MOS lunged forward to grab a hold of Tohko. Any limb would do, she only had to get a hold of her and that would be it, she wouldn't be able to break the androids hold on her.

Sadly, no mater how fast Tohko was, she was no match for KOS-MOS, and the android managed to grab onto her broken right arm.

Tohko screamed out in pain and, blinking back tears, tried one last attempt to break though to KOS-MOS and escape.

"M-Mary, please, let me go!"

The cry didn't register, even if KOS-MOS did recognize the name. There was only one 'Mary' in her database and that was Mary Godwin, who she definitely was not. Instead, the android lifted Tohko by said broken arm until she was eye level with the android. Her visor didn't rise from it's position, but the lights on it glowed an ominous red before her free hand changed into her R-BLADE and she drew it back to prepare to strike.

The pain just grew even worse as KOS-MOS lifted Tohko up, and she bit her lip in order not to cry out or actually cry. As KOS-MOS's hand changed into her R-BLADE, Tohko used her other arm to pull out her dagger-'Wendy'-to try and block KOS-MOS. If she could, maybe she could get an opening and disable the android long enough to get away.

Oh. A weapon. That changed things, if only mildly. Her R-BLADE vanished, replaced once more by her hand but she didn't lower Tohko. If anything, she raised her higher before reaching out to grab a hold of her wrist, the one holding the weapon, and twisting it until the bone snapped. And she remained coldly detached throughout the ordeal.

It even seemed as thought the Archetype programmed had advanced. Yes, she was killing mercilessly but she wasn't just stabbing or shooting people.

In pain, Tohko screamed and accidentally dropped 'Wendy'. Crying, due to the pain, Tohko struggled, trying to free her broken arm-which just made it even worse-and tried to kick at KOS-MOS. If her feet could land a few blows on her head, maybe she would let go.

What was going on here? Why was KOS-MOS acting so weird? Tohko doubted that this was how Mary was supposed to awaken, even though Wilhelm had said that he sensed her awakening was near. Was it a virus or something? That seemed plausible, considering the fact that KOS-MOS hadn't spoken all through this and that she had twitched every now and then in a weird manner.

"That is enough, KOS-MOS." He had been observing both of them through the Compas for a while now, but he was not going to allow Tohko to die just yet. He needed her alive, for now; not for her sake, but for the sake of Mary's awakening.

This was actually what he was waiting for; her to go berserk. If Mary was going to awaken, this would be a key part of it happening.

Tohko would feel the hairs on her body stand on end for a brief moment, as everything went dark. When the light would return, she would find herself standing behind Wilhelm, and hopefully she wouldn't collapse quite yet.

"That is not the one I need for you to kill, Mary." He used the name 'Mary' for a reason. "You are in there, somewhere. And the more you watch KOS-MOS kill those whom you care about, the closer you will be to taking control yourself."

Tohko breathed in when the hairs on her body stood up and when she heard Wilhelm's voice. When everything went dark, she blinked, and when she could see again, she was standing behind Wilhelm. She was very shaky though..the pain was unbearable, and it was all she could do to keep standing. However..she would be fine for about five or ten minutes, even if water was still coming out of her eyes.

As she heard what Wilhelm said, she forced herself to reply. "Wilhelm..you're planning on..having her kill..Shion?"

..Thanks would come later. This was more important.

In all too short a time, she found her prey out of her reach, blocked by Wilhelm. If she were in any condition to recognize him, or anyone, she'd stop. In fact, she's not even in any condition to recognize her own name or Mary's. Mary can't even bubble to the surface for a moment to hear him.

Slowly, dangerously so, she straightens and almost seems as though she's obeying him. Except that, a moment later, her chain gun is in her hand and she moves only her wrist to point it at Wilhelm to fire. The android would not tolerate interference. He was not the one she was after right now, Tohko was. Except now, he seemed the greater threat, even if Tohko had somehow remained armed. His ability to take Tohko from her and block her with his own body was evidence of that.

No, she wasn't going to allow it. And she fired her weapon without concern for anything around them.

Wilhelm knew KOS-MOS was going to attack him. As if he were expecting it, he raised one of his hands, his palm facing upwards. A small, black orb appeared in or, the light from the room itself seeming to be drained. The bullets fired at Wilhelm began shaking in mid-air, being diverted into the small singularity in his hand rather than continue on their course, crushed by the gravitic weight of a black hole's event horizon, harmlessly pulverized and never reaching their intended target.

"Such efforts are wasted, Mary. Ever fiber of KOS-MOS' chassis was born of my own design, as a way to bring you back from the dead. Vector's most dangerous weapon is no more of a threat to me than Vector's most dangerous office pen."

He needed to stall for time just a little bit longer. Mary may not be bubbling to the surface, but he would see to it that KOS-MOS remembered every detail of this, and if she couldn't, that she'd be reminded of it.

Mary would awaken one way or another, or else his true master plan can't go into effect.

When KOS-MOS shot at Wilhelm, she forced herself to move a bit forward..but when he summoned the black orb and diverted the bullets away from the both of them, she stopped and, through the pain, forced herself to burn the scene into her brain. She had known that Wilhelm was powerful, but she hadn't actually seen him use his power before. This would be useful information for later.

"Wilhelm..I don't think..Mary can hear you right now. Or KOS-MOS. I think..something's wrong KOS-MOS's programming. Even if she can hear us, she can't respond right now."

Speaking was difficult right now, due to the pain of her broken arms. Even though she wasn't moving them, they still hurt horribly, but Tohko tried to fight through it.

"We..have to disable her before she kills someone. Even if it would..make Mary wake up..if she killed Shion, it would be a horrible wake-up call."

..Yeah, like Wilhelm cared about that.

Sorry Wilhelm, still was not really understanding you. And the android seemed then to grow irritated that her shooting wasn't effective. Ah well, if shooting the weapon didn't work, it was just as effective for bludgeoning people. Lunging towards him, she swung the chain gun towards his midsection while she formed the R-BLADE on her free arm to stab towards his face.

At least she had the satisfaction that Tohko wouldn't be going far and that she could finish with her once she got rid of Wilhelm. Her 'mission' wouldn't be complete until she eliminated the threats present in the tower. She couldn't allow one girl to survive.

Were it within Wilhelm's capacity, he would be sighing in disappointment. As KOS-MOS approached quickly, Wilhelm briefly looked down at Tohko, and then back up at KOS-MOS just as she was within striking range. The orb in Wilhelm's hand began changing colors, before finally, Wilhelm snapped his fingers, the orb 'exploding' silently. KOS-MOS would find herself teleported to the far end of the room before either of her blows landed.

"You have more important victims to claim, Mary." Wilhelm said quietly. "She is not one of them."

Wilhelm then looked down at Tohko. "Leave," he ordered. "Allen will tend to your wounds."

Tohko's arms, of course, were still in unbearable pain..but there was no way she was going to leave Wilhelm here. Sure, he could defend himself..but what if he kept trying to talk to Mary, or let himself be killed so that Mary would remember it and feel horrible about it later?

She couldn't let that happen. Besides..she considered Wilhelm a friend, even if he saw her as just a chess piece. So, when he spoke to her, she nodded.

"I will..but I'm not going to leave without you!"

So, even though she knew it was foolish, she forced herself to walk up to Wilhelm and, biting on the back of his jacket collar, she tried to drag him backwards with her.

It wasn't as though KOS-MOS could do any real damage to Wilhelm but at the moment, she was damn well trying. Her scanning systems went haywire when she was teleported to the opposite side of the room and, if she could be, she'd be pissed. Of course, this didn't deter her in the slightest as she straightened up and changed her arm into her R-CANNON and fired at them from where she stood.

There was no talking her down, making her see sense or changing her mind at the moment. She slated them to die and she was not going to fail at this! And if close quarters combat didn't work, she had to stick with long strange.

The R-CANNON. Wilhelm didn't have as many defenses against this as he did against close-quarters and ballistic-based weaponry. "I will not tell you again, Tohko," Wilhelm replied, as calm and collected as ever.

The most Wilhelm can do against that R-CANNON for now is erect a barrier in front of them, but it wasn't going to be able to hold forever. "Leave, or I will have no choice but to force you."

Allen, if you're out there, he can really use you right about now, if you'll pardon the choice of words.

Tohko's arms and body were in utter agony, but she kept dragging Wilhelm along as best as she could, despite the fact that KOS-MOS was shooting at them. However, when Wilhelm spoke again, She let go long enough to speak.

"Wilhelm, I'm sorry, but putting aside any plans you have right now, I do consider you to be my friend. You may be a bit stronger than me, but that doesn't mean I'm going to leave you here..or allow you to harm people that don't need to be harmed. I'm sorry."

And, with that, Tohko bit back onto Wilhelm's jacket collar and continued dragging him along. They had to get down the stairs quickly..

Wilhelm and Tohko should be thankful, really, that KOS-MOS only had what she was currently using at her disposal. If the administrators had allowed her a Phase Transfer Cartridge, she'd have already made use of it against Wilhelm's defenses. As it is, she charges a shot from her R-CANNON and fires several times in an attempt to find some sort of weakness. Even the smallest opening would be useful right now.

"You leave me no choice, then, Tohko." And with that, she'd feel the hairs on her skin begin standing up. He was going to teleport her down to the lounge, and away from KOS-MOS. "But your death would serve no purpose at this time."

The barrier was not going to last much longer.

Talking would mean that she would have to let go of Wilhelm, so she said nothing..but she felt the hairs on her body stand up and a small, cold shiver run down her spine.

He was probably planning on teleporting her out of here. It wasn't like she wanted to die..but she didn't want to leave Wilhelm behind either. She picked up her dragging pace. They were almost at the stairs!

The android fired another shot from the R-CANNON before changing her arm back and checking on the condition of the two once more. While she normally would resort to this, she decided that her tactics would need a slight alteration. And with that decision made, she triggered her Ether Drive and left them with only a moment notice before she used Dex Ether Fa on them both.

"Leave." He doesn't say anything more. Rather, he pushes Tohko off of him. Seeing KOS-MOS open her Ether Drive, he can't focus on teleporting her anymore. Tohko will find Wilhelm is MUCH stronger than he looks. He isn't going to play this game with her any longer. But just as Tohko will hopefully be shoved off of him, the Ether slams into his barrier, shattering it, and dealing some very severe damage to him.

One of his arms is blown clear off, light escaping his now dismembered limb. Despite this, Wilhelm doesn't appear to be in pain at all. There's no blood, anywhere.

"If I must ask you again, I will leave you to your fate. My plans will not be hindered by you."

Sadly, while Tohko knew that Wilhelm was probably much stronger than he looked, she didn't think that he would just shove her off like that. As the Ether slammed into his barrier, she flinched, but she didn't scream.

However, she did grow a bit worried once she saw that one of Wilhelm's arms was blown clean off, with light coming out of it. She knew he didn't need a physical body to live..but she was still worried.

"Wilhelm, are you alright?!"

...Yeah, that was a useless question. However, she couldn't help but ask that before sighing and replying.

"Wilhelm, I may not be able to put a single dent in your plans, as much as I don't like them. However, thwarting your plans isn't the only reason why I tried to drag you back with my teeth! I consider you a friend, and therefore, I am not going to leave you behind, even if you can survive without a physical body!"

..She's stubborn, but she's loyal to her friends, even if they don't need any help. Her arms were in utter agony..but she couldn't give up. Even if she did die, at least she would do it while trying to pull them both to safety and helping out others.

Once again, Tohko tried to bite on the back of Wilhelm's jacket.
