Player Plot: KOS-MOS rampage.

Characters: KOS-MOS ([personal profile] kosmic_angel) and everyone she’s going to kill.
Setting: All over the tower, your choices. Today only!
Format: prose to start but I’ll switch
Summary: Shion and Allen tried to build KOS-MOS a maintenance bed and it has some… unexpected difficulties. Like KOS-MOS going Archetype mode and killing everyone in sight. RUN!
Warnings: There’s going to be a lot of dying and it’s going to get gory.

When KOS-MOS had laid down in the makeshift maintenance bed that had been built for her, she hadn‘t expected anything to happen but for her power cells to be recharged like they normally would be. That, unfortunately, was not the case.

Upon waking, her systems had been… altered. Currently, all life signs were marked as hostile and her recognition software had been shutdown. Profiles of each individual she had met in the tower were sealed and she could access them. Priority programming went to combat and eliminating everything marked as a threat. She climbed out of the maintenance bed and used her transfer system to summon her scythe into existence.

And then she stalked out into the halls, visor down and blocking sight of her face and eyes. KOS-MOS walks normally, acts normal really, until she finds someone who is marked as a target. Meaning anyone and everyone.

Outside of the Third Floor

Tohko sighed as she wandered out of the library. Work had been tough today, and a lot of things had been on her mind. For once, she felt like gazing at the stars in the observatory with a good book..but as she was thinking of what book she should grab, she saw KOS-MOS walking down the stairs carrying a large scythe.

It was a little strange talking to KOS-MOS after what she had learned..but it probably didn't change much as far as their relationship went. They were still friends, as far as Tohko was concerned.

"Good morning, KOS-MOS! What's up with the scythe?"

Gymnasium Floor 39

Sephiroth never stayed away from this floor for long. A few days after the sickness was over, if only because he strongly suspected this is where he'd caught it from. Only a day after his encounter with death and try as he might not to fall into a routine - Sephiroth was most days found here at some point.

Like books are the whetstone for the mind, so the gym is the same for ones physical condition and Sephiroth isn't about to let that fall beneath his own perfectionist standards. A finely tuned tool needed to remain exactly that, in reality, Sephiroth clearly needed to push himself harder - an unlucky scrape with an overpowered, misled mage with a grudge perhaps but it had still brought him to his knees. It couldn't be allowed to happen again.

As KOS-MOS would approach, Sephiroth was using the more spacious end of the Gymnasium for technique sharpening. Masamune, arms and bare muscled torso fluidly danced from one ready stance to the next, connecting attacks with nothing but air and the accompanying sing of the long keen edge.

It wasn't difficult to find Sephiroth, considering the cells that bound them. It wasn't as if he had Sephiroth's ability to pull, but he had a dim and fluctuating awareness of others with the cells.

He wasn't much for the gym himself, much more often encountered in the lab or the morgue, but he was not unfamiliar with the floor. He watched Sephiroth work idly. Hojo noted the intensity of his efforts. He was certainly enthusiastic today. It was interesting enough to study Sephiroth's behavior, considering his studies of the Tower had been fruitless lately. Here, at least, was an experiment all his own, his own creation. But even Hojo had his limits, and Sephiroth's training was a fairly repetitive sight.

"Is this what you intend to do all day? I ask merely out of curiosity." He was marking things down on a clipboard, more out of habit than anything else. "You should be in peak form regardless, and this is hardly a test for one of your talents." Such encouraging words from Hojo. Truly, he was an excellent parent.

Normally, Tohko wouldn't have run..but the jerky movements and the way the scythe suddenly disappeared didn't give Tohko the impression that KOS-MOS was saving her from a nearby monster or anything. So, she tried to run away from the android.

"KOS-MOS, what's wrong? Are you feeling okay?"

Sadly, no mater how fast Tohko was, she was no match for KOS-MOS, and the android managed to grab onto her broken right arm.

Tohko screamed out in pain and, blinking back tears, tried one last attempt to break though to KOS-MOS and escape.

"M-Mary, please, let me go!"

[Axel was almost always chilling out on floor 25, getting his martial arts and ki practice on.

Of course, he's not a big fan of robots. Especially ones walking in on him while he's in the middle of something so he ends up stopping.]

HOW ABOUT FLOOR 12?

[personal profile] uzuki 2013-01-26 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
How quickly things change... Shion had approached the maintenance bed so cheerfully. Waking KOS-MOS was really a fond memory, and it was something she hadn't expected to ever experience again. But when she found the bed empty, she was only mildly concerned. Surely, she had simply miscalculated how long the first session would take, and KOS-MOS had left early. But Shion was in for a surprise when she attached her connection gear to download the maintenance data. That boot sequence was familiar and horrifying.

"No... It... It can't happen! Not again..."

Her handheld fell to the floor and she raced from the room. At first, she was so sick with dread that she simply ran aimlessly, her mind racing. But it was when she ended up in front of the elevator that she realized starting from the bottom up would probably be the best option. It always seemed that there were more people on the lower floors, and if it was anything like the last time, KOS-MOS would seek them out.

When she reached the cafeteria floor, she began her ascent by stairs, scanning each room quickly for any signs of the android before moving on. When she reached the twelfth floor, she stopped. She clenched her fists and readied her MWS, as tears began to spill down her cheeks. The sight of the bloodied android was almost too much for her. But she had to stop her. Again. Just like last time, no matter how painful it was, it was her duty.

"I'm sorry, KOS-MOS..."

And she rushed at the berserking robot.

Not that Sephiroth was going to answer Hojo anyway. The way that the scientist insisted on expressing his opinion, offering his input into Sephiroth's life here was starting to get more than tolerable. Sephiroth had made it more than clear his opinion of being the specimen - Nibelhiem for one - whatever remnants of the project Hojo wanted to hold onto was his own delusion.

But there wasn't anything to do about it really, sure he could kill him but he'd only just come back. And probably be even more in his face about it.

Sephiroth had only a few moments to register KOS-MOS' approach before having to drop the stance he was currently in to be able to stance back and block the incoming blade from the android. He took the momentum from the block and forced it back up into the connected blades in order to force his attacker back and get the range he needed to counter attack. Which he would follow with, without hesitation in a sweeping upward slash.

Hojo, instead of trying to make his escape as a sensible person might have done, looked with interest upon this new development. Wasn't this unexpected? And just when he had been about to consider leaving. It would be much more entertaining to see Sephiroth in an actual battle. With the living weapon. Yes, he remembered her. It seemed she was more of a weapon and less of a person at the current time, though for what reason, he couldn't say. A malfunction, perhaps? The advantage of an organic creation like Sephiroth was that he couldn't malfunction in that fashion, although he did unfortunately have free will. Fuhito may have been on the right track with his Ravens, taking the will out of the man.

Hojo made another note on his clipboard. It would be pleasant if his creation could defeat this admittedly advanced technology from another world. Although his failure would, on the other hand, be annoying. "Are you currently capable of energy attacks? I would recommend you try something other than a mere blade. That's an extremely powerful android."

Hojo had his gun and some Materia with him, but he didn't delude himself that his own weapons would be capable of defeating the android, so he saw no need to offer any assistance other than advice. He'd rather see what Sephiroth could accomplish on his own, in any case.

The pain just grew even worse as KOS-MOS lifted Tohko up, and she bit her lip in order not to cry out or actually cry. As KOS-MOS's hand changed into her R-BLADE, Tohko used her other arm to pull out her dagger-'Wendy'-to try and block KOS-MOS. If she could, maybe she could get an opening and disable the android long enough to get away.

Taro was heading out of the lounge, a book in his hand. He tilted his head a little bit at the strange robot. He raised his hand in greeting, and then... dropped it. She really didn't look like she was in a good mood. He'd seen enough movies to know where this was going.

"Uh... are you okay?"

WHERE'S A GUN WHEN YOU NEED IT?

It was lucky she had been knocked backward, otherwise she would most likely be dead. But the momentum made it possible for her to stumble out of KOS-MOS's range... Almost, anyway. As she twisted away, the blade caught her across the upper arm.

The wound was deep, and it didn't take long for blood to begin to drip from the bottom of her jacket sleeve, but Shion merely winced. Her breathing might have been a bit more labored, but really, she had experienced worse.

"KOS-MOS, that's enough! You need to stop this, right now!"

She raised her MWS, and the front opened up to create a blade of energy. With one more deep breath, Shion darted forward again, keeping her eyes on the scythe. She knew she was at a disadvantage. Even with her weapon, her speed wasn't a match for KOS-MOS's by any stretch of the imagination. But maybe, she hoped, somewhere inside, KOS-MOS had heard her. And maybe just that would slow her down for a moment while Shion aimed for her head.

In pain, Tohko screamed and accidentally dropped 'Wendy'. Crying, due to the pain, Tohko struggled, trying to free her broken arm-which just made it even worse-and tried to kick at KOS-MOS. If her feet could land a few blows on her head, maybe she would let go.

What was going on here? Why was KOS-MOS acting so weird? Tohko doubted that this was how Mary was supposed to awaken, even though Wilhelm had said that he sensed her awakening was near. Was it a virus or something? That seemed plausible, considering the fact that KOS-MOS hadn't spoken all through this and that she had twitched every now and then in a weird manner.

A mere blade? Hojo clearly was trying to goad him and it wasn't a welcome distraction. Though a warning? Unexpected. Sephiroth doesn't have any so-called 'energy' attacks due to the lack of materia he had been brought here with. He does however have an expert hand at the sword and that paired with his innate telekinesis has always been more than suitable for survival here. Ignoring what had happened with Hei, that is.

Sephiroth was ready for the next attack to come in with the blade from the android but then at the last moment it switched; the longer range of the scythe guaranteed KOS-MOS first blood. Sephiroth had gone to dodge backwards and had lent enough back that her sword swipe would have missed but the scythe proceeded to rip a hot, deep gouge up from the bottom of one side of his ribcage to the opposite pectoral before it's blade tore itself free of flesh. Sephiroth spun to the side with the blow but buried the nausea that rose as blood started to well up, already he knew that his own regeneration would stem the bleeding long before it would get fatal.

Wasting no time, Sephiroth extended a hand toward KOS-MOS and forced a great wave of telekinesis in a push motion towards the android. Powerful enough that most of anything in it's path would be flung backwards across a room. In the same super fast instance, Sephiroth's legendary black wing erupted from his right shoulder as he left the ground by only a foot or so - before using one potent beat of the same to propel him in a dash to follow the psychic wave. Masamune aimed for an impale once he'd gotten close enough.
