Summary: Today seems to be a day of discoveries.

[Floor 100]

[It's bittersweet, seeing Destiny Islands 'in person' for the first time. It isn't a memory, this time, but it's not real, either. Standing in what passes for sand on the small island with the bent tree looking out over the water, she cannot help but frown. She'd wanted to see this place for such a long time, but... not like this.]


[Floor 80]

[Blinking in the bright lights, Naminé is at first quite disoriented by this floor. It's very bright and colorful and perhaps in any other place she'd be thrilled by that, except this is the Tower, after all, and thus she is immediately on her guard. But that diminishes slowly over time as she lingers, having a long look around with more than a little interest. It's only her caution that keeps her from straying too close to anyone, including the clowns, but one can't always keep an eye on everyone, now can they?]


[Floor 78]

[The newly opened package hits the ground, the contents bouncing out and landing with a clatter. Naminé looks down at it for only a moment before reflexively stooping to put the tiny bird cage back in its place, her fingers leaving it as quickly as possible and then pushing the package back against the doors of the boxes nearest the floor, a hand moving to press over her mouth. She'd been startled enough to have received a package so suddenly in the first place. She'd just had to open it, hadn't she? Perhaps holding it so delicately, caution still present, had been what made her lose her grip of it in her surprise at the contents. Either way, now she frowns down at it, hesitating as though she's uncertain what to do with this development - because she is.]


[Floor 51]

[There's a blonde young lady leaning over one of the sewing machines, peering at it curiously. She inspects it thoroughly, at first only by sight but slowly moving on to messing with the buttons and, after a while, the pedal - which seems to startle her at first, but she soldiers through it. It's obvious that she hasn't the faintest idea how to use such a thing, but she seems to have taken an interest in it nevertheless.]

I've never really felt it before. Not that I can remember, anyways. I guess it might hurt?

[lethechained]

[Her shoulders move in a shrug.] I guess. Unless it's too quick...? I'm not sure. But either way - it sounds like an awful thing to have happen to you.

[terreifying]

Did anyone even hold a funeral for the whale? If everyone knew its death was awful, then it deserves a funeral.

[lethechained]

If they did, I didn't hear about it. [Pause.] ... I'm not sure if it was trying to hurt us or not when it exploded. [It certainly seemed to want to hurt the tower, at least--]

[terreifying]

I don't know. You guys didn't do anything that would make a whale angry, did you?

[lethechained]

Not that I'm aware of...! If anyone made the whale angry, it was probably the administrators. [It usually is.]

[terreifying]

Why would they wanna make a whale angry? Was it part of a game? Whale-tipping only works when you're not locked in a Tower.

[lethechained]

Maybe so it would case trouble...? If it was on purpose at all. [Head shake.} It could have been another experiment...! Even if it would be a very strange one. That's never stopped them before.

[terreifying]

Do you think they'll do something like that again this month? Or some other month? Call in stuff from outside the Tower?

[On one hand, it would be awesome. On the other hand, it might get people hurt.]

[lethechained]

Well-- it's not very common for them to do things like that. I haven't seen any evidence either way, but-- based on statistics, I'd have to say no.

[Welp. The one month it actually happened--]

[terreifying]

Oh.

[She's just a little disappointed.]

I wonder why they can't? Is it because they can only see destroyed worlds or something?

[lethechained]

I'm not sure...! But it may not be a matter of whether they can; maybe they just don't have a good enough reason to, most of the time. Maybe they don't like interference.

[terreifying]

So if things like the whale came into the Tower, it can stop whatever the administrators are doing?

[She'll have to keep that information in mind.]

[lethechained]

[She falters, then shakes her head.] I don't know. It would depend on what it was, I think. But-- I guess what I mean is that I'm not sure it would benefit them much to allow in things or people from other places, but I can't really say anything about it for certain.

[terreifying]

I see.

[She closes her eyes and thinks for a moment, and then she hops back onto the stairs.]

I'll ask people on the network about it later.

[lethechained]

Good luck. If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to hear what you find. [The girl watches her a moment before more calmly following suit.]

[terreifying]

I'll write down some notes for you. We've got mailboxes now, so I can leave you a message there, right?

[lethechained]

Right! [Despite her original experience with the system, she can still recognize its value.] That sounds like a good idea.

[terreifying]

[She hops up two steps.]

Hopefully I get lots and lots of good answers. Everyone else who asks big questions get good answers.

[lethechained]

[She'd find that assertion rather questionable, but,]

I hope so, too.

[terreifying]

Mm, my question would be easier to answer too. It has a right answer and a wrong answer.

[Not like one of those big questions about emotions and humanity where you could give a million answers.]

[lethechained]

Well-- yes. But it's not always easy to tell which is which, with some questions.

[Just following patiently along after her.]

[terreifying]

That's why SCIENCE is all about asking the right questions. And narrowing down those questions.

[lethechained]

[SCIENCE, huh? Don't mind her smile.]

And getting the right answers?

[terreifying]

Yep. And then using those answers to be awesome.
