A few minutes before anything happens, Ruana's voice rings out over the Tower's intercom--it manages to be louder than anything the residents happen to be doing. "Hey, everyone, there's something exciting going on at floor fifty-six! Go make sure they don't get themselves killed!"


You arrive, stepping or tumbling, in a surgical suite. It looks abandoned, with dust collecting on the table and floors. The lights flicker, and for a moment blood dripping off the table, puddling on the floor--but no, the lights are back, and surely that was your imagination. It's quiet, eerily so, but nothing hinders you, and you're free to spread out and explore. There are multiple rooms here, like in any hospital, and it's all a bit confusing. Occasionally the lights flicker, and it's a bit frightening as Things appear that shouldn't exist. Shadowy creatures stitched together and reaching for you, doctors brandishing phantom surgical tools, blood splattering the walls or floor or ceiling, how did it get there--but none are real, and all of them vanish when the lights return. Eventually you find the staircase, spiraling up and down into darkness. Approach it, though, and the thing glitters with a barrier that will push back any attempts at climbing the thing.

A girl, a teenager dressed in red and black, appears. And she does simply appear, inserting herself into the space, nearly pushing it aside to make room in it for where she is now. Her face beams with unconcealed excitement, and her words tumble out on top of themselves. "You can't go there! Yet, I mean. You'd all die!"

The girl steps onto the staircase, passing through the barrier as if it weren't there, and sits on the steps to address everyone. "Hi! I'm Ruana. You didn't show up the normal way, so the Tower can't support you yet. We got this one floor ready when I saw you were coming but, well, the Tower's kind've big, so getting all of them set up is taking a little longer than I thought." She smiles, sheepishly apologetic in a carefree sort of way. "I've got everyone coming here to visit you--or at least they know they can visit you--and I'll have someone bring food up for you. It'll be oatmeal, and oatmeal is super boring, but you have to eat it, okay? Then you can have whatever you want! The cafeteria's down on the first floor if you get hungry. We should have everything ready in a few hours. I've gotta go help with that, so you guys wait here.

"Don't worry, the monsters can't get to this floor as long as that barrier is up."

And then she's gone, blinking out of existence. The barrier will remain for three hours.

This isn't the TV World...it was never this bad.

[She is starting to get sick of weird dreams that transport her places, though. She hurries over toward Naoto, but pauses to let Kanji pick her up.]

We might be in the Mictlan or something. Although I didn't think it'd have a cafeteria...

[She blinks a few spots from her eyes and glances up at her friends. She hadn't even seen them there. Maybe she mistook them for more monster illusions or...?]

I'm okay. [She reassures Kanji. She reaches up to grab his sleeve and uses it to help push herself to her feet. She still feels a little wobbly but she'll manage. She refuses to be a burden.]

Rise-san, can you use your Persona so tell us where we are? [though this isn't the TV world, apparently, so maybe not... but worth a shot?]

Move over tower we've got a trio over here

[Kanji does his best to hide his blush when she does that and looks away quickly. Thankfully it doesn't last too long.

...the blushing that is.]

Yeah, that's a good idea! [He stops for a minute to look at the people who are there.] Don't think I'm seein' Senpai or the others either...

Between them they have brains, brawn, and heart. And average out to a normal height.

Well, if we're still somewhere in Hinoto-Ri, it should work...

[Even if not, why send them somewhere without their Personas? She attempts to call up Kanzeon and at least get a sense of whether there's any bad guys around. Conveniently, a mod will be getting this tag notif.]

[Thankfully, her Persona emerges just fine. As Rise scans, she is able to notice that they appear to be on a floor of a tower, however the barrier is blocking searching anything else specifically.

It feels big.

Really big.

And there are some strange, ominous feelings too...]

[She glances around their surroundings too. Kanji was right, there was no sign of any of their other friends. Maybe they were somewhere else nearby? If they were Rise might be able to find them too...

She glances back at the idol, hand on her hip.]

Any luck?

[Kanzeon hovers over her as she tries to make sense of what she's seeing.]

We're in...it feels like one floor of a big building, so a tower like whoever that was said, but I can't see anything past that barrier.

I don't see any enemies, but...I've still got a bad feeling about this.

Does this mean I'm stupid and tall.

Tch. I ain't like the sound of that at all.

[Kanji might not be a fan of violence, but this entire place has got him tense and on the edge.]

What kind of place would be able to block you out even like that?

[She frowns. Well, that was certainly ominous. Should they try going to another floor? Or did the barrier prevent that...?]

A powerful one, that's for certain. I would suggest moving somewhere else but perhaps here is safest. [It was hard to say without exploring and she wasn't sure they should do that either without Yu.]

Let's...see what happens with the barrier, I guess. There's plenty of other people from Hinoto-Ri here, and it sounds like there'll be safe places to move to.

[Assuming that Ruana person isn't just babbling nonsense.]

We should stick together, though. Between the three of us we should be able to fight whatever monsters are here.

[get_bent]

Good idea. Didn't really want to leave you two by yourselves anyway.

[Pause.]

Not that I don't think either of you can take care of yourselves!...Kujikawa can be kinda scary sometimes... Just...y-yeah you're right we should stick together.

[Stop putting your foot in your mouth, Kanji.]

Wonder how long we'll be in here anyway...

Wait a minute, just how am I "scary"?

Yes, of course. [That wasn't even a question. Of course they would stick together. If they found any of their other friends hopefully they would stay with them too.

Ignoring Rise's banter she continues,] I'm not certain... but ideally we need to find a way back to Hinoto-Ri as soon as possible. [She shifts a little uneasily on her feet.] This place makes me too nervous.
