Something Unexpected

Characters: characters selected to go into the elevator
Setting: the admin levels
Format: any
Summary: The admin elevator has been left open, its destination preprogrammed. Where is it going to take you?
Warnings: general horror warnings for now

The elevator doesn't announce itself when its doors slide open. There's no alarm, no message to be found about it. It sits open and waits for anyone curious enough to enter. There's a barrier on it that locks out anyone without a collar, and it isn't going to stay long, but aside from that there appears to be no security. There's nothing stopping someone--or multiple someones--from climbing into the elevator and going down.

Where's it going? Who knows.

Hub Area
A lounge area with sofas and chairs. It's large enough to hold the entire group, constructed similarly to the dorm rooms, and is connected to five doors.

[Feferi takes a look through one of the boxes in the left, sees that she can't read it, and shrugs it off. Okay, pushing the boxes aside seems to be the best plan here.

She doesn't say much of anything at all, just focusing on making a path towards the walls. Whatever's in here is gonna be towards the back, so it's best to go on through.]

I know a way to make things a little more efficient. [Dave is a little grateful for his Time powers suddenly.

As he starts moving boxes, the others might start seeing something odd. Like maybe there's a Dave standing next to them helping them. But wait, there's another Dave somewhere else. Stable time loops are Dave's best friends although it makes for kind of a jarring scene when there's a few of him all at once.

[As the boxes are moved, other boxes put themselves back. This is mostly harmless unless anyone happens to be in the way--they're moving pretty quickly back to their spots and some of them are really heavy.

Moving some of the boxes reveals another door.]

[Suzaku blinked as Dave seemed to split... like Aradia's power then, she had called them Paradox Clones. He helped move as many boxes as he could, jumping out of the way of ones moving by themselves. He moved towards the door.]

Sweet! That makes it that much eelsier.

[She took point on the last door and she really doesn't want to take the risk of that new door getting hidden before anyone can get through it, so she drops to the floor. It helps that she's not that tall, so she uses that to her advantage, weaving her way through and opening the next one.]

It's gotta be through here...

None of this means jack shit to me. [And he's sure it doesn't mean much to the others.] But we don't all have to press buttons. Shouldn't we minimize potential casualty? Have one person stay behind and try this while everyone heads back out safely.

[Dave inspects the control room, trying to figure if there's any clues around them that might help with this task.] If something goes bad, everyone wouldn't be at risk.

But this place can easily deactivate our powers if we're not careful.

[He kind of glances at the labels again.] Maybe we should figure out what the labels mean. That should be easy to guess, right?

Like Tower probably pertains to the general Tower, and that probably means they're useless as fuck for us. [Unless you want to mess around, but he definitely doesn't want too.] This is stupid.

One of them says 'administrative' and one of them says 'locks'. And I'm thinking pushing both of them because hey, these are administrative locks we're talking about, right?

Unless someone has a better idea. I just don't think sticking around here debating it is all that smart. The longer we sit around, the longer we get to be someguppy's targets.

Administrative is most likely for maintaining the Tower or information on it. The Locks button sound self-explanatory...

[Because..."Locks". You can't get more obvious than that.]

Pushing them both would either work, or not work. [...] I say go for it.

They both sound right... are there any other clues around here that could tell us which one is the one we're looking for?

[Ryoji's looking around nervously, scanning the labels of the other buttons as well as the rest of the room. He shouldn't be stalling, but he doesn't exactly want to leave Suzaku behind with nothing but luck to guide him.]

At this point, I think we just have to do things for something else to happen. I don't think we have much else to work with except what we already got.

[Which doesn't really make Dave feel any better about the situation.] It would be too convenient to have an easy way through this. [And he's pretty sure out of all the groups, they have it pretty easy. They are dealing with Dax's area. He hates to think what Jason's or Ruana's areas were like.]

It would be way too conchvenient. And I think...I think hitting the locks buttons make the most sense. Do we all want to take one or try and narrow it down further or what?

Dax being Dax, though, it's probubbly hiding in plain sight, like the key to the file cabinets was. Is there a little button that says 'lock' on it? Might be in a big bunch of 'em. If there is? I say we push it and be ready to run. I don't much like anemoneone staying behind...

I'm totally cool with hitting as many of the buttons labeled lock if everyone else is. [Let's do this. He's so ready to do this. Pushing buttons is the best thing. It's like all his kid cartoons coming true.]

I'm totally read if everything else is cool with it. What do we have to lose? [Don't actually answer that.]

Wait. Wait. I know I said push stuff, but let me think out loud here. Red's too obvious. Everyone thinks of pushing the red button. Green's too obvious, because that always means go. So if there's like a blue one...maybe that's it.

[So time to press the first blue 'lock' button that she saw, then. She just hoped that when she reached her hand out and pressed it that it wouldn't suddenly trap them all in there, or drop the floor out from under them, or anything like that.]
