Summary: Rin believes in equivalent exchange and works on repaying a kindness done to her. Later on she finds out what everyone else has found out via terminals because magi and computers GROSS and broods a little

    ►►► VARIOUS;
[ When Rin wakes up the morning of the first, she's left a gift as per her request. Surprised as she is to see it, she wastes no time in getting the film inside of the camera and visiting various floors. Rin starts at the top of the tower in her search to take pictures for her uncle, taking caution to travel to floors that he might not be able to due to his condition. The more dangerous the floor? The more likely one is to find Rin there. She shows no fear as she moves through with relative ease and should she happen upon a monster? Well, it's rare these days that a monster can stand up to her and should she meet her match, it takes seconds for her to be free of the danger due to the silent guardian that can be called to her side near instantaneously. Not that she's going to bother him when she's having such a great day admittedly. ]

    ►►► DORMITORIES;
[ Sometime in the evening, after she's spoken with Saber to find out what this place truly is and what she is herself, Rin can be found lurking in the hallway as though she's waiting for monsters to come for her. Not that they crawled among the dormitory corridors often, but if they were to come looking for her... well, she might greet them happily. ]

If it isn't mine, then why did they stay within me? [ She mutters out loud to herself bitterly. ] Why is it still there too?

[ She does appreciate Hakuno trying to sell the idea to her. With a sigh, she chooses instead to plop down lazily beside her. ]

I guess. [ No point in arguing it. ] Have you ever heard of mermaids before coming here?

[Considering 'training' back home for Hakuno meant commanding Saber to fight against monster programs that continuously respawned in the same spot... yeah, she doesn't particularly have a problem with encouraging Rin to beat the mermaids up.]

Just in stories. Things I've read when I wasn't researching. [She had a lot of time to kill that one day Rin and Saber holed themselves up in the nurse's office...] I know some stories make them out to be not so bad, but the myths warned they were dangerous. That's how I knew to stay away.

They haven't done anything to you, right?

[ Rin asks to reaffirm this as she stares out towards the water just as lethargic as she had taken her seat. ]

I had a run in with them recent, but it was in a dream so it didn't count. [ It felt real, but that's beside the point. ] They're dangerous... so it's good you chose to be cautious.

[She shakes her head.]

No. I've been lucky - none of the monsters here have gotten to me yet. [Instead, she was done in by... a tacky Halloween costume. It was horrible when it happened, but now? She's.... kind of embarrassed. What's not a very good way to go, is it?]

... Wait. You're even dreaming about the weird things that happen in this tower now? [Yikes, that's really gotta suck...] This place is starting to get to a lot of us, isn't it?

No, it wasn't exactly like that.

[ She mutters that. A sore subject if only because she died in her sleep--it's made her more wary of falling asleep these days and that was her only method of dealing with her emotional baggage. ]

Saber was there too. Not your Saber, but the one who dresses in dark armor. It was a combined dream with so many people there... it was kind of weird.

[... Oh. Oh.]

It was one of those sick games the administrators played with us, wasn't it?

Correct.

[ Wait. ] How do you know about those? I didn't see you there.

There was more than one game, I think. I was stuck in one where we had to summon ghosts while taking a bath.

[It sounds kind of funny when she says it like that, but the images they all got while they were chanting... ugh. Nightmare fuel.]

... You had to take a bath with others? [ Just a tad bit jealous. ] No one saw anything they shouldn't have, right?

[There's something weird about the way Rin said that, but Hakuno can't really put her finger on it...]

No, we were all split up. Into individual tubs sectioned off. [She says as if it was pretty damn obvious.] The administrators are pretty sadistic, yes, but I don't think they're also bunch of perverts.

[ That's okay, Rin can put her finger on it if Hakuno wants. ]

You're implying that they care about your personal preferences in the first place. So you didn't get to see who else was there?

I talked with a few people before we had to start the summoning ritual. The only familiar face I recognized was White Saber. [She's started calling all the Saber she knew by colors - it made talking about them much easier.] I don't know what happened to her when we were all done, though.

[angramaintsu]

White... Saber?

[ Wasn't that the normal one? It takes Rin a couple seconds longer than usual to confirm it in her mind before she nods. ]

So you summoned them specifically? What sort of ritual was it?

[doesnotgetit]

Yeah. She was dressed in a lot of white when I saw her. [Duh!!!] It makes things a little easier, don't you think? Since there's more than one Saber. She's White, the Saber with the gold eyes is Black, and my Saber is Red.

[...It makes sense for her, okay.]

Um, I'm not exactly sure if there's a specific name for the ritual.... we had to chant "daruma-san fell down" until the ghost appeared. Then we had to talk to it.

... we could just ask them for their real names.

[ Maybe this is how she can figure out Saber the Dark's identity. Sending someone as clueless as Hakuno seems to be a good bet. ]

Hm, Daruma-san? Like those dolls, huh?

Well, what did you talk about with the ghost?

Isn't that kind of... invasive? Servants are supposed to hide their identities. I can't imagine most of them would be keen on just giving their names away.

[It's all a bit pointless now that there's no war to fight. But still, some may have a good reason for hiding their names... like hiding foul reputations, for instance.]

We... had to ask her why she fell. [Okay no that just sounds too vague.] We had to keep our eyes closed as we chanted, and as that happened... I got a vision of the girl falling. Dying because of it. [Her stomach turns a bit at the memory.] Looking back on it, asking a ghost why it died sounds like a pretty bad idea...

Yeah, but I'm certain if someone as nice as you asked for their real name...

[ Oh, she's making it kind of obvious there isn't she? Pausing, she listens to the story with boredom. ]

Well, now you know not to do something so foolish again. Asking people why they've died... geez, isn't that tactless?

Don't get me wrong, I think it is too. It's also pretty rude... what if they're really sensitive about that kind of thing?

But it was the only thing we could do that would let us out, so we had to do it.

I advise ignoring the lesson you were taught during that so-called game.

[ TOWER PLEASE. ] It'll do you more harm in the long run if you approach people like that.

What kind of person would just go around asking people how they died? Talk about a fast way to make enemies.

... But I'll definitely keep that in mind. That should be a subject that needs to be avoided unless the person chooses to talk about it.

[ Speaking of: ] I'm still not happy you're here on this floor. I suggest you leave it and never return.

[Well... she can appreciate that Rin's looking out for her. She really can! But... she also likes it here, save for the creepy mermaids. Maybe she can compromise?]

Would it help if I didn't come alone here? I'm sure Saber or Caster wouldn't mind joining me if I wanted to come back.

Do you think they can kill the mermaids easily enough on their own? If so, then sure.

[ Rin's tried and has given up on trying to get them all. They just keep coming back. ]

They're dangerous. [ She seems to be unable to get over this hump of Hakuno placing herself in harm's way. ]

You know... I never asked Caster about her abilities. But I'm sure she's powerful enough to take care of these monsters.

[She pauses, frowning a little.] She's from a parallel world of mine... or maybe I'm from a parallel world of hers. Either way, she said that she helped me win the Holy Grail War. So something like those mermaids shouldn't even be a problem for her.

... You have a Servant willing to fight for you, but you've never inquired as to what they can do?

[ The girl clearly isn't a suitable Master, she thinks. ]

Isn't it strange how that works? Parallel worlds are such a pain.
