You're on a distant shore.
Characters: Minatsuki Takami and anyone heroic or gullible? Or just anyone in general ♥
Setting: Room 2-19, or the cafeteria
Format: Whatever you'd like!
Summary: Precious bby tries to adjust to mean tower life.
Warnings: Minatsuki is a liar. She's manipulative, sadistic, and just... pretty horrible. So befriending her now could lead to your character being attacked and abused(physically or mentally) in the future. It's also possible there could be violence in here. There IS foul language! Aaaaand finally moeblobs could be annoying too.
[2-19]
Had her roommates been watching her, they might have seen a small sampling of her rage displayed on her face for mere seconds upon waking up in her dorm. Minatsuki sprang to life once the sleep paralysis was lifted. She clutched her chest and stared into the darkness of the room before she realized she wasn't in G-ward anymore. Everything was unfamiliar, so her expression quickly became neutral... Until she found that letter.
"No... It can't be."
Her voice was quiet, and her words were barely pushed out over her silent, shuddering sobs. Tears streamed down her face, and she crumpled the letter and pressed it to the front of her bodysuit while she cried. Of course, she really felt nothing, but she could see the forms of other people in the beds around her, and who knew if they too had just woken up in this room. Dimly, she wondered what had become of her brother, if what the letter said was true, but she supposed it didn't really matter. It wasn't like he really gave a shit anymore.
[cafeteria]
Later, after overhearing an explanation of the oatmeal rule, Minatsuki sat alone in the cafeteria. She might have found the rule dull, but complying was always good for her image. So she had eaten the entire bowl of oatmeal she was given, as gross as it was. After she was finished, she pushed the bowl away and covered her face with her hands, obviously overcome with emotion about being alone in a strange place... She sobbed quietly into her hands, sputtering an apology at anyone who came close or acknowledged her.

Hey eyes widened at that. It was probably the only true representation of her emotions that there had been so far. But quickly, her shock was gone, and then her mind set to work. Mockingbird was dangerous, everyone feared him... But this could work to her advantage. He probably wouldn't try anything in such a high traffic area. And if he did, surely every bleeding heart and wannabe hero in the place would come running. Wouldn't that be a treat?
"What do you want?"

"Ahah, what makes you think I want anything?" He asks, shrugging. "You're the first new Deadman the Tower has gotten since... well... me." He glances down at the empty oatmeal bowl. Well, she already got that out of the way, and it looks like she kept it down without even appearing sick. That's more than he could say about himself, but then again, being spoiled off of Chan and En's cooking and then having to eat that sludge will do that to you. "I already have your Branch of Sin, after all. But I promise if I lose it, you'll be the first to know. ✩"
no subject
"And just how did you get your filthy fucking hands on my branch of sin?"
no subject
"Actually, the other one's even scarier than me. But she's not so bad once she decides you're more fun alive than dead. ✩" Which... is not an easy status to achieve. As for those scars? Well, they're not there because of Penalty Games, if that's what she's thinking. The truth actually manages to be even worse than that, but unless Wretched Egg spills the beans, he won't tell her without a reason. "'Course, you realize acting only goes so far here, right? There's scarier things here than Deadmen, Tamaki's easily-broken toys, or those adorable little Undertakers."

Not that she would, of course. She sat back in her chair again, primly folding her hands in her lap.
"If this is anything like back home, these stupid shitheads will be lining up to take the fall for me whenever necessary. And with no Carnival Corpse, I can keep this up as long as I want."
no subject
"Nope, she's not here." Said completely matter-of-factly, as if it didn't affect him one bit. "Actually, I was referring to someone much, much scarier. It was nice of the Administrators to release her chains for me. ✩" He's curious to know if Minatsuki knows what he's referring to, this far back in the past. Only one way to find out.

She was getting impatient. The way he skirted around everything, taking forever to actually explain... It was really aggravating. So she began to look around the cafeteria again for potential 'friends'. It was obvious, to her anyway, that he wasn't going to do anything now anyway.

Yeah, it was true, she'd probably find a horde of wide-eyed idealists eager to fall for the Dulcinea Effect and protect the sweet little new girl. Too bad Minatsuki is anything but. Ganta wasn't the first to fall for that act, and honestly, it amused him and everyone else who watched the Carnival Corpse.
"You're right, though. No Carnival Corpse here, which is kind of disappointing." He taps his finger against his chin. "But... There's monsters here, there's random experiments that can mess with our minds... I could be your best friend."
And somehow, the way he says that is incredibly creepy.

A laugh escaped her before she even thought to suppress it.
"You think I don't know how this shit works? I'm not some scared little girl. I'm not going to cry myself to sleep crying about some big scary science project."
no subject
"But you are a Deadman, right? And I promise you, I'm much nicer than the other one here. And she's the only one who could kill me, you know. In fact, she's the only one I ever lost to. Just imagine what she'd do to you."
That should be a giveaway as to who it is.
