THE HERO OF THE IMPERIUM

Characters: Amberley Vail, Commissar Ciaphas Cain, and YOU
Setting: All around the safe floors. The cafeteria, dorms, etc.
Format: Actionspam is cool, threads with cain and amberley will be done separately
Summary: Propaganda is good! Everyone should know that there's a hero among us who stands up for good humans and helps protect them from the tower!
Warnings: Discrimination towards aliens and anything practicing magic. The shoot first, ask questions kind of discrimination.

[ Amberley and Cain can both be found about the tower today, the almost seven foot tall man following behind the smaller woman dressed in his normal military garb with his chainsword at his side. You do get the sense that he's being dragged around by her, mostly because of his stoicism and her cheery enthusiasm make a pretty jarring contrast.

The two each have a stack of handmade flyers they're handing out, which Amberley made with a marker and some scrap paper. Not the most high tech propaganda out there, but it was better than nothing. Everyone who runs into the duo will get one of these.



At least they're trying to help, even if it's in their own horribly misguided way. ]

Hello.

[A miniature version of someone who brushed by them earlier appears. Sephiroth is oddly pale, but other than the glow in his eyes looks completely human (unless his pupils should narrow into slits).

He takes the flier and studies it quite seriously for a minute or so, as it seems like something that warrants serious thought. Hmm.]

Thank you. If you are in need of assistance, you can ask me, too. [He likes to be helpful.] I am Sephiroth. Is one of you the hero? [He's not a sorcerer or a xeno, as far as he's concerned (world-eating alien DNA aside), but he knows what the prefix xeno means.]

Aren't we all xenos here? [They're not from this planet, after all.]

I'm the Commissar, if that's what you're asking. I don't really think I'm a hero but I work with the titles given to me.

[Long story and he doesn't think a kid wouldn't really understand.]

But no, we aren't. Xenos are non-humans. Like the Eldar or the Tyranids or the Orks.

[Sephiroth studies him thoughtfully.] What have you done to be called a hero?

Xeno means foreign or alien, and none of us are from this world. We are aliens, but most of the people here are human or humanlike. I wonder why that is. [Shouldn't there be more variety?]

Can you tell me about the Eldar, the Tyranids, and the Orks? [They sound interesting.]

And it's a human owned galaxy.

And I could tell you about them but why would you want to know?

How do you know what galaxy we are in?

[This is a sincere question on Sephiroth's part. There are no recognizable stars in the sky as far as he's concerned.]

Because I am a researcher. [He does research, so it counts.] I am interested in studying other planets and the people who live there. [Why wouldn't he be interested?] My planet is named Gaia. Humans are the only intelligent life there. [As far as he knows.]

Humans live on over a million planets. It's just common sense. Intergalactic travel just isn't possible yet.

It is not possible for you. Maybe it is for the ones that brought us here. Research indicates we come from different universes.

It is not known whether the inhabitants of this world are human.

He's the hero, not me. I'm just a simple remembrancer, Ciaphas is a friend from home.

[ Well ok more than a friend but this is a little kid he doesn't need to know about that kind of stuff yet. ]

When we use the word Xeno we're talking about anything non-human.

What is a remembrancer?

You wish to help people, but only humans? Why is that?

A remembrancer is someone that makes records of events such as battles and other important events. I was assigned to Ciaphas' Unit in order to write about his adventures.

[ She points back to her large companion who's been following her about. ]

Xenos and Sorcerers are both very dangerous. Ciaphas and I have both had our share of running from both of them while they're trying to kill us and I don't need a bullet in the back.

I understand. That's useful. Someone should be present to record the outcomes of battles. Do you analyze them to improve performance?

Anything non-human is dangerous? What if they are weak? [He doesn't see how everything non-human could be seen as a threat. That makes no sense.] But there are dangerous Xenos here. I have fought many of them. [He means the monsters, however.]

I have not heard of sorcerers outside of stories. [And he doesn't read many stories.] They are real in your world? What do they do?
