[Hiding under a tree, Aleph tries to dry out his Arm Terminal, which is starting to go on the fritz. His demons are out and surrounding him - too dangerous to keep them in a malfunctioning device.]

It's no good...

[He sighs and leans against the tree as the rain pours around them.]

[Spring, Katsuya Suou, sauna]
[Katsuya slides his family photos inside the sauna locker. They're already mostly soaked, but he can't bear to throw them out yet. Maybe they'll dry out and be salvageable?

That done, he groans and paces the floor.]

[Summer, Zett Takajo, space projection floor]
[Zett isn't too concerned about lightning, it being his natural element...

And it looks really cool on this floor.]

Maybe I should try the caverns next!

[Whoopsy-daisy! Ryuunosuke just slipped on a pile of leaves and fell onto the floor on his butt.]

[V/V has had a brilliant idea.

See, there are lots of unoccupied rooms on the fifth floor, right? And they have four beds apiece, and those beds have blankets. So she goes from room to room, gathering blankets and piling them all together.

Other people may see her as a giant pile of blankets walking around on its own.]

[Robot repair is surprisingly tricky work. Red's got some knowledge of machines, but his sister usually did all the repairs. Maybe he should have listened more when she was trying to explain things?]

[Oh, sounds like someone else is having problems with the leaves. Red sets down the tools he was using, wading over to the staircase.]

Hey, you okay over there? Need a paw?

Oof... Yeah, some help would be nice.

[He thinks he landed on a bolt or something, ow.]

[It wouldn't be a surprise. There's lots of stuff hidden under those leaves, almost including Red himself. Being short is suffering; still, he manages to help the poor lad to his feet, kicking away whatever was under there.]

[His gaze strays to the robot for a moment. Hmm, maybe...]

If ya wanna return the favor, I could use some help with repairs. Do you know anythin' about robots or metalworkin'?

Pretty much nothing, but I can listen to instructions alright.

Great. How 'bout trackin' down some pieces of metal and some weldin' gear? I need to fix the chassis after I get the inside stuff in workin' order.

[Red's pretty sure he knows how to fix it. It may take a while, and a bit of trial and error, but it should be as good as new after that...]

[Alright, metal. He'll just go through everything in the room looking for metal then. It shouldn't be too hard.]

[Just be careful, Uryuu, there's a lot of leaves and not much in the way of safety on those machines.]

Alright, let's see... if I had a repair kit, I could do this really easily. I'm gonna have to improvise a bit...

[Yeah, he's really regretting not paying attention. Red just starts working, trying to puzzle out what to do while Ryuu's off gathering supplies.]

[Eventually Ryuunosuke comes up with some metal gathered up.]

Yeah, that looks great! Just set it down over there and I'll start weldin' once I got this stuff finished.

[Some of this is coming back to him. Red needed to do field repairs every now and then, when his sister wasn't around, so he's got the basic idea. This goes here, put that there, tighten that...]

[He carefully sets the metal down so he doesn't drop it on his toe or anything.]

Nice to meet ya too, Ryuunosuke. Mind if I call you Ryuu or somethin'? It's a little long otherwise.

[He pauses for a moment, sweeping away some of the leaves then continuing his work. It's not going to be the greatest fix in the world, but it should hold.]

How long you been here?

Oh, sure, go ahead! And let's see... Since August maybe? I think it was that long.

[Man, he's losing track already.]

August? And it's... March, right? Wow, you've been stuck here for ages. How many times did ya die so far?

[It's more of a joke than anything, but Red has to admit he's a little curious. If people can recover so easily from it here, then maybe it's just not that big of a deal.]

Lost count. Died my first day because a whale crashed into the tower.

[Heee's not joking.]

Yeah, I heard somethin' about a whale, but-- your first day? Geez, what kinda luck is that?

[What's more worrying is that Ryuu here says he's lost count. Dying really doesn't do much here, then. Red keeps poking at the internals of his robot, trying to think of what else to say.]

Okay, how 'bout this? I died a couple days ago, and I couldn't move for a while after I woke up. Is that normal, or did somethin' go wrong?

Totally normal. It lasts a little longer each time you die and wake up, too, or maybe that's just my experience?

[He hasn't really talked about it other than 'wow that was fun'. For some reason that part drives people away from talking to him about it.]

...So if I die again, I got more of that to look forward to?

[Nothing about that was fun, although it might be better if it wasn't raining like crazy. Red's still messing with the parts, trying not to imagine more sleep paralysis.]

At least we come back pretty quick.

Yeah, there's that. It's really a small price to pay, right? You could not come back ever.

Yeah, that's true. In this place, though, I'm not sure how much of a blessin' that really is.

[Still working. There's more parts in here than Red remembers, and not all of them are going to be so easily fixed.]

So what do you do around here? Definitely not workin' on robots by the sound of it.

Haha, I don't have any skills like that! I mostly just wander around and [murder stuff] see what there is to do.

Just that? That sounds... excitin'. You gotta have somethin' fun to do around here, right? What d'you like to do?

[Definitely not fixing robots. At least he's a good assistant.]

We-ell, if you insist, I'm kind of practicing my combat skills. I'm really not a great fighter and I'm definitely no match for the monsters here.

Hey, now there's an idea. I got Dahak here, but if it breaks down or if somethin' happens while I'm not ridin' it, I oughta know how to fight. I had a weapon back home, so maybe I oughta track one down here too.

[What could he get? Well, there's lots of metal here, and metalworking equipment... a sword would be quick and easy.]
