Summary: Finally, all three people who were contacted after Dax's death will meet. Plotting ensues.
Warnings: None thus far.

The letters had been sent. Now, all there was, was to wait. Enoch, and possibly one or two others, was there already, sitting at the far end of the room so they couldn't be heard through the door, sitting up straight and a hand resting on his knee as he waited for the others. His leadership potential often went unused, Enoch being the submissive type, content with the role of the follower. But he would have been next in line for his father's priesthood, a leader role of sorts - he could and would take the lead if he had to.

Enoch was surprised so many people were choosing to come in here fully clothed. Granted, he himself is wearing his jeans still, but he's at least rolled them up to his knees....seeing someone come in in armor was much more than he expected...


"Will you be all right? I wouldn't want anyone fainting from the heat..."

To Ruler's credit, it looks like she hasn't even broken a sweat. In fact, she doesn't seem to be affected at all in this heat. Her serious expression fades a bit as Enoch approaches, a small smile crossing her face.

"Yes, I'll be fine. A temperature change such as this isn't enough to make me uncomfortable."

"You must be much more resilient than most..."

Enoch's body had become more resistant to physical impact and other immediate forms of harm, and dealt with illnesses and poisons better, but his body still worked in roughly the same way otherwise for a mortal man in his physical shape - and sweat came easily to such an athletic build.

He kind of envied Ruler her endurance. Humid heat was torturous to one who had lived in the dry heat of a desert.

"Were you raised in a climate with air like this?"

She shakes her head.

"Actually, no. The area of my homeland that I grew up in had a very moderate climate. I can withstand the heat like this because my body is spiritual in nature; temperatures such as this do little to bother me." There's a pause as she thinks back a bit, to the horrible winter the tower had...

"I do seem to have trouble with the cold, though. But it's hard to find people who aren't bothered by it even a small bit."

If only his blessings extended to that...

"True. The cold seemed the worst of that week for everyone..."

"That week was actually bearable," She says with a laugh. "But the bitter cold that lasted through most of the actual winter months here in the tower proved to be quite problematic after a while."

"The cold then wasn't as severe as what we had that day. I could manage the actual winter if I didn't rest long and never went anywhere without my cloak... Jason's disease was worse than the weather."

The cold of the true winter had been more than he was used to, but not too far off most of the time. This...had been far beyond anything he'd ever experienced. Not even harsh desert nights were that cold.
