Characters: Legolas, Haldir, Gandalf
Setting:
Backdated to after Something Unexpected...
Format:
Either.
Summary:
Legolas returns from the admin levels with his arm bloodied and useless so he asks Gandalf and Haldir to kill him.
Warnings: Character death.

Legolas waited in the elevator until it reached his dorm floor, cloak hanging over his bad arm and carefully wrapped around the injury to prevent blood from dripping onto the floor. Already the forest colored fabric was stained red though, his arm hanging uselessly at his side. He wasn't sure if he was in shock or if his nerves had been damaged but he could barely feel his arm anymore. If only his companions hadn't been so careless when they had entered Riki's room, this might not have happened. That he'd even managed to survive was a miracle. Not that the miracle would last very long.

Haldir. Get Gandalf.

He called out to his companion with his mind as he pushed open the door to his room. Thanking whoever could hear his prayers, he went further inside and collapsed onto his bed, hissing as pain suddenly filled his senses. That answered whether he was in shock or not.

Sleep was perhaps the only reprieve anyone could achieve while imprisoned here within Animus. Haldir given up on seeking solace outside of his dreams. As much as he yearned to find some sort of peace here within this tower, the marchwarden could find none. The last fragment of his piece left when Legolas had been stolen from him. Haldir hadn't taken the younger elf's disappearance with much stride. While he may have seemed quite detached from the situation, Haldir was actually suffering more so than he ever let on. The last thing he wanted was to burden his companions with his melancholy thoughts. Over the course of the last few days, Haldir exiled himself from the comfort of the others and secluded himself in his misery.

That is until now.

"Legolas?" He questioned the voice within his mind. "But how--" Nearly leaping out of his bed, the marchwarden wasted no time rushing towards the door of his room. Careful not to disturb his resting roommates nearby, the elf made his way out the door with ease.

You seek the wizard?

Already making his way towards Gandalf's abode, Haldir hesitated to knock upon the door. He wasn't certain what transpired during Legolas's sudden disappearance, but the marchwarden was worried. He could sense the agony that the elf was in despite being far from his location. Something had to be amidst if Legolas sought Gandalf's aid. So without anymore hesitation on his part to disturb the wizard, Haldir rapped his knuckles against the door in hopes of an answer.

It wouldn't be long before the White Wizard would answer to the Marchwarden's call-- Thankfully, Gandalf was in his dorm. Haldir was lucky to find him here and now to say the least. It was actually rare to find the White Wizard in his room, he generally favored the libraries, the research floors, the meadow and such other floors with content of interests that helped him with his theories and work.

Seconds after the marchwarden knocked at the door, he would see Gandalf opening it. The wizard was smiling and looked well rested, having in hand a pipe and no staff. However, he had not been expecting to see Haldir and reacted with surprise.

"Haldir?"

Seeing his worried expression though, there was no doubt something had happened. He didn't know what and he wasn't sure Haldir himself knew, but it had to be important if he had come to seek his help. A serious frown quickly grew on the wizard's face as he addressed the marchwarden within the second.

"What happened?"

Gandalf's appearance cooled some of his worry, but not by much. Judging from the distress within Legolas' tone, something dreadful happened. Haldir didn't put it past the Administrators to torture any of them, especially now that their only benefactor had been slain. If only they knew about the peril Dax faced on the account of their sake; then maybe the man would still be alive. That's a truth that Haldir had to reluctantly accept along with the chance of Legolas never returning to Animus.

"He has returned." The marchwarden said with great urgency. "Legolas has returned and he's in grave condition." He knew those words alone would be all that he needed to prompt the wizard into action. It's not very often that Haldir sought his aid, but now he does.

"Come."

He frowned deeply at Haldir's word and sighed. That sounded bad, especially if they had come to see him. Last time neither of them had been so open about expressing their misadventure.

Gandalf threw the pipe on his bed and quickly grabbed his staff before storming out from the dorm, following the marchwarden. Legolas had not been gone for so long and Gandalf had not imagined something may have happened to him. Given the situation, he doubted Legolas recklessly ran into danger, leaning toward thinking the tower was behind what predicament he was in.

"Did he say what happened exactly?"

Gandalf spoke in a quiet yet strong voice, right now he expected the worse.

Haldir spared the wizard another glance. "He hadn't been forthright as of what has transpired." The elf answered with some hastiness in his tone. It would only be about a matter of minutes before they both reached Legolas's room. Only then would either of them realize the severity of the younger elf's wounds.

"His spirit fades, Gandalf." The marchwarden announced once he spotted an open door further up the hallway. Leaving the wizard in his wake, Haldir peeked into the room to find Legolas cloaked within his own blood. "Here!" He waved towards Gandalf before rushing inside the chamber.

"Legolas?" He could sense that his spirit was weak.

Gandalf sighed and shook his head, but pursued his way behind the marchwarden without another word. His spirit faded. Again, such a terrible event had happened many times to the eleven prince already. But as he deduced earlier, this time was probably not because of his own recklessness. There was nothing he could do until he would see the elf by himself.

When Haldir entered the chamber, Gandalf followed him at a steady pace but was probably notable calmer than Haldir. Once again spoke no words, his face grave. By now he had a pretty good idea of what to expect and nothing he could say would make the situation better for now.

Haldir's heart sank when he saw Legolas. Blood dripped down the elf's mangled arm and onto the fabric of his tunic. He looked pale due to the loss of blood and somewhat gaunt. Without a word said, Haldir raced to Legolas's side to examine the wound. It was dire. Haldir could almost see the very bone within his arm. Something or someone butchered Legolas almost to the point that the very flesh of his arm had been carved off. The wound itself was far too ghastly to describe, but Haldir didn't blink an eye. If he allowed his emotions to claim him now, then Legolas's life would surely be lost.

"Don't try to humor me." Haldir grumbled in prime annoyance. "You grow paler by the minute." Trying to see if he could stop the bleeding by securing a cloth around the upper part of the elf's arm, Haldir then turned to Gandalf for aid.

"He'll perish." The marchwarden said as he tried to clean the wound with an homemade tonic he uses. "That is if we do not act quickly." He still had blind hope that Legolas would live.

"..."

Gandalf said no words, however the odds of saving Legolas were low and at this point he was pretty certain the prince himself didn't want to survive this wound-- Would he survive by miracle? He would be be suffering from grievous wounds, a thing one couldn't survive with in this tower. He sighed, all they could do at this point was ease his passing.

When Haldir spoke, the white wizard slowly put a hand on his shoulder and shook his head.

"We will act quickly--" he then turned "Legolas. Is this what you desire?"
