Summary: Waver searches for her family, sulks around as Wavers do, and then explores a little.

Dormitories

[Waver doesn't want to believe what she's been told. It would be so much easier to tell herself this is a prank, or she's being held for ransom, or... something. And that's why, as soon as she's able, the magus wanders the dormitory floors with only one goal on her mind...]

Brother! Brother? Derry! Where have you gone? Derry...!

[The girl's search for her sibling is more than a little frantic, and she'll stop to ask anyone if they've seen him, whether she recognises them or not.]


Floor 4

[After giving up her search, Waver can be found sulking in an out-of-the-way chair with her bowl of oatmeal and a small pile of books pilfered from the library. Every now and then she makes a note of something on her phone, but for the most part she just looks like your average Waver, trying to distract herself.]

[Eventually she'll get bored with reading and attempt to go exploring. She's not daft enough to leave the stairs on any floor that looks suspicious, but sometimes things don't go according to plan, do they? It only occurs to her after some time that she should probably rush back to her room before nightfall, if what she heard was true...]

[One of your neighbors is hanging around. And upon being asked, the green-haired boy shakes his head.]

What does he look like? Maybe I've seen him around.

[On a lower floor, V/V approaches her before even before being asked anything.]

Are you okay? Is it your first day here?

Hey, Waver. Nice to see you again.

[If Waver doesn't immediately try to kill him for murdering "him" a while back, he'll be surprised.]

He's tall and he's got hair that looks like it takes offence to being combed and he's got a mole under one eye, here.

[She pokes at her face, holding her other hand well over her head to try and give an idea as to his height.]

[It's Nessiah's first day here as well, but after getting settled in, he's here with a bowl of oatmeal, having had the same idea as Waver.]

Excuse me, may I borrow this one once you're done with it?

...I'm that obvious, am I?

[Waver scratches her cheek with a sheepish laugh. Her papa would probably scold her, if he saw her being so emotional like this.]

[Waver blinks up at him and tilts her head slightly, brows furrowing in confusion.]

I'm sorry, have we met?

Oh, you can take it if you'd like. It'll be a while before I get to it myself, I think.

[It's a beautiful floor, one that doesn't look like it would hurt to stop off at. And it's not, really. The fact that Aleph is locked sword-to-claw in combat with a demon that looks like this? Nothing to worry about, just a little training. Not that Waver could know, seeing it from the stairway.]

[It does look like such a pleasant place, until she notices the man fighting off that monster. Waver debates offering to help him. She's never fought monsters before, and she has no clue if her magecraft will even work here...]

U-Um! Are you going to be alright?

[This looks like a beautiful meadow floor that would be a great place to stop and rest, but...

Katsuya catches Waver thinking about going off the stairs and speaks up.] Don't stay on this floor for more than a minute. The poppies make you fall asleep until the monsters come at night.

Most people are. I was too - it's hard, coming here and being told that everything is gone.

[He nods his head in thanks and sets up a short distance away with his oatmeal and the book. It doesn't look like he has any difficulty reading despite his eyes being covered.]

I presume that you're a new arrival like myself.

[She jumps, having not expected the voice, and blinks at him.]

Wizard of Odd And Terribly Unpleasant Murder, then? That sounds like a production I'd rather not be part of.

[Both Aleph and the creature looks and stop what they're doing, and Aleph gives a friendly wave with the hand that's not holding a sword.]

We're just training. You don't have to worry.

[She's refusing to consider the alternative. Nope, not thinking on it. He's here and she's just not found him yet.]

Don't mention it. There are so many floors in this tower now, it's hard to keep track of the actively dangerous ones nowadays.

I wasn't made aware that Wavers are such an abundant commodity. As far as I know, I'm the only one, and now I'm quite certain we haven't met.

[She tends to remember the mad ones.]

[At least she's not the only one. Waver adjusts her things so that she's facing him; misery loves company, and all of that.]
