01 | or that look of surprise

Characters: Nessiah and you!
Setting: Room 1-04, Floor 98, Elevator, Cafeteria, Floor 3
Format: Will match yours.
Summary: Nessiah makes his entrance to the tower, discovers no-powers floors, and goes to get some food and research.
Warnings: Eye squick before he puts on his faceplate.

[Room 1-04]
[Nessiah had been displeased upon waking up here, but not frightened. There were few things that could frighten him after so many years of death and rebirth: a simple kidnapping would not accomplish it.

He read the letter and put it away, skepticism clear on what remained of his face. There were of course ways to destroy a world, but not many to do it instantaneously, without warning. He would have known that something was coming.

That done, he rooted in his trunk for his clothes and the chains that properly covered him. At the very least, he should put on his faceplate before anyone but his roommates saw the empty holes where his eyes should be.]

[Floor 98]
[The dormitories offered little interest to him, and the staircase seemed the obvious way to proceed. He avoided the glowing step of floor 101, briefly explored the crystalline caverns, then returned to find the next floor down.

The moment his foot left the staircase his vision went black as the spells he used to see were cut out suddenly. He stumbled, tumbling onto his knees as he landed on the pipe floor.

Nessiah tried to feel his way back to the staircase with his hands, but the pipes were unfamiliar territory and it would be too easy to fall into a hole...]

[Elevator]
[Having bee rescued, Nessiah wisely decided not to take the walk down past many other floors that could easily blind him, and took the elevator instead. He wasn't one to strike up a conversation himself, but he wouldn't be opposed to something to fill the half an hour it took to get from the top of the tower to the bottom.]

[Cafeteria]
[Nessiah was presented with terribly mediocre oatmeal, but at least it looked better than whatever else was being served. He took an out-of-the-way corner of the cafeteria and began to slowly eat, watching whoever else was desperate enough to come to the cafeteria for nutrition.]

[Floor 3]
[Despite having most of his face covered, Nessiah has no trouble reading, and has a large stack of books in front of him on one of the tables. It's quite curious.]

Then you might wanna avoid 101 too, then... Do you want me to tell you the no power floors?

Okay, so... [Pause as she thinks for a few moments.] ... Floor 101, 98 and 97, 91, 84, 52, and 36 down to 31 are all floors where powers won't work.

Mm, okay... Floor 101 is covered in tons of different plants, so nothing too dangerous. 98 is covered in pipes and holes, along with some spikes, and 97 has really huge monsters so that's really dangerous. 91 doesn't have any walls and is empty, but considering how high up that floor is, you don't want to step off the staircase.

... Um... Floor 84 is like it's made out of blocks and it's best to be avoided due to how the exploding monsters like it there. Floor 52 is covered in playing cards and if you step off the staircase you'll be stuck rushing around to press buttons and trying not to fall to your death. Floor 36 is part of the staircase that's outside, and you have to be careful here since it's kinda falling apart. 35 is a floating island with a lake, and 34 is another floating piece of land, but you don't wanna step off it or else you'll feel compelled to walk over the edge of it.

And, ah... Floor 33 is the floating island that acts as a farmland, floor 32 is a floating island with a forest and floor 31 is where the staircase starts leading outside, and this floor has no walls.

[Blink. Opens mouth, closes it and then she tilts her head.]

That's... a very good question.

... They probably just wanted to make us eat one of the blandest things ever as our first meal here, since you throw up otherwise.

Luckily once you eat it, you never have to have it again. And usually you can put toppings on it but there's... not much of a selection in the cafeteria right now.

Yep! It's just that Jason likes to supply us with just those bars, since he's an ass.

It is. He's one of the least liked admins here. Opinions on Ruana are... mixed.

True. There was that one time someone apparently asked Jason out... [She makes a face and shakes her head.]

But yeah, people either view Ruana as some sort of tragic figure or a monster who needs to be stopped.
