01 | or that look of surprise
Characters: Nessiah and you!
Setting: Room 1-04, Floor 98, Elevator, Cafeteria, Floor 3
Format: Will match yours.
Summary: Nessiah makes his entrance to the tower, discovers no-powers floors, and goes to get some food and research.
Warnings: Eye squick before he puts on his faceplate.
[Room 1-04]
[Nessiah had been displeased upon waking up here, but not frightened. There were few things that could frighten him after so many years of death and rebirth: a simple kidnapping would not accomplish it.
He read the letter and put it away, skepticism clear on what remained of his face. There were of course ways to destroy a world, but not many to do it instantaneously, without warning. He would have known that something was coming.
That done, he rooted in his trunk for his clothes and the chains that properly covered him. At the very least, he should put on his faceplate before anyone but his roommates saw the empty holes where his eyes should be.]
[Floor 98]
[The dormitories offered little interest to him, and the staircase seemed the obvious way to proceed. He avoided the glowing step of floor 101, briefly explored the crystalline caverns, then returned to find the next floor down.
The moment his foot left the staircase his vision went black as the spells he used to see were cut out suddenly. He stumbled, tumbling onto his knees as he landed on the pipe floor.
Nessiah tried to feel his way back to the staircase with his hands, but the pipes were unfamiliar territory and it would be too easy to fall into a hole...]
[Elevator]
[Having bee rescued, Nessiah wisely decided not to take the walk down past many other floors that could easily blind him, and took the elevator instead. He wasn't one to strike up a conversation himself, but he wouldn't be opposed to something to fill the half an hour it took to get from the top of the tower to the bottom.]
[Cafeteria]
[Nessiah was presented with terribly mediocre oatmeal, but at least it looked better than whatever else was being served. He took an out-of-the-way corner of the cafeteria and began to slowly eat, watching whoever else was desperate enough to come to the cafeteria for nutrition.]
[Floor 3]
[Despite having most of his face covered, Nessiah has no trouble reading, and has a large stack of books in front of him on one of the tables. It's quite curious.]

How are you able to read so quickly with your face covered like that?
no subject
[It's a simple answer, and Nessiah turns to face her as precisely as he would have if he'd had eyes.]
no subject
Oh, what kind of magic? How does yours work, if you don't mind my asking?
no subject

[It sounded like something out of Earthsea, but Tohko didn't mention that. There was no way the mage would know what she was talking about.]
Actually..magic doesn't exist in my universe, so that's why I was asking. I love hearing and learning about it though! If you don't mind..could you teach me a little, if it's possible?

Floor 98
He is about to leave the floor in favor for the next one, when he notices the kid shuffling around, looking quite a bit lost. Well. He supposes, he can keep lingering a moment longer.]
Well, well... aren't you quite clumsy.

I suppose I ought to have brought a cane.

Obviously.

Elevator
"Hello. This elevator ride is kinda long, isn't it? This whole tower is bullshit in my opinion, but I haven't been here long enough to really get a feel for the place. I've only been here a month or so."

"Are those chains you're wearing?"
[Yata, it's rude to stare at strangers, especially when you don't know their names.]
no subject
These were not the Chains of Conviction themselves that bound his original body somewhere in his destroyed world, but he found it convenient to reproduce them.
no subject
Yata's definitely curious now. Mainly because he had been out esxploring, and wasn't the purpose of exploring investigating new things you found interesting?
"By the way, my name's Misaki Yata. Call me Yata. And you are...?"

...and don't try to "look" too closely. True form drives humans mad and all that.]
no subject
I could spare some of these, if you're interested.
no subject
[Human development. This is a thing that, admittedly, she only really knows the biological side of. You're born, you go through puberty and hormones make you act irrationally, you live on, your body passes its prime and withers, and you die.]
no subject
I am usually researching something - I see no reason to stop while I'm here.
no subject
That makes sense! It's good to have something to do around here.
