Finally, another party
Characters: ProtoLancer
puppy_lancer, Zero Lancer
oathshackledbird and anyone interested in attending a birthday party. Details here.
Setting: Meadow
Format: Anything goes
Summary: Lancer throws his brother a party. Everyone can come except for the Archer (meaning they can come crash the party anyways)! Feel free to tag into any of the threads set up or invent your own scenario.
Warnings: None yet!
[It had taken some preparing, but the party was finally set up in a satisfactory way. There was a table for food and drink dragged in from the cafeteria, a wooden bucket filled with water with fruit floating in it, a strange paper mache Jason head pinata stacked on a scarecrow body, and a board with a pig with a Ganon head scribbled on it along with several spiraling paper "tails" attached to thumbtacks. There are no party decorations, but Lancer figures the flowers and sunshine should be decoration enough.]
[Now it's just a matter of waiting for people to show up.]

[Diarmuid bows politely to him, though at the same time he can't help but ponder how odd a name that is. Combine that with the fact that the boy seems to be more than just a boy and Diarmuid can't help but be slightly on edge.]
May I ask how you came to know my name? Are you a friend of my brother's perhaps?
no subject
[chaos would return the bow before straightening up again. It was a very odd name..but it was the one that suited him best nowadays, suited his role. Besides..his old name would give him away too easily. However, at that question, chaos nodded.]
I suppose you could say that. We fought together when Ganondorf had twisted the Tower, and I gave him some advice as to how a birthday party should go.
no subject
That man...sometimes I think he is more dangerous to us than the Administrators are. It is a frightening thought.
[He pauses, then, his smile returning.]
One that shouldn't be thought about now. Not when my brother and so many others have gone to so much work make this a happy occasion. It seems I should be thanking you again for helping him. He has so many good intentions, but often he doesn't think his plans all the way through and so things don't go as he had hoped. That doesn't seem to be the case this time and I am thankful for that. We all need this break too much.
no subject
[Inwardly, chaos sighed, and for a moment, his smile fell. But just for a moment.]
But you are right. Birthdays are usually spent talking about lighter matters. It is nice that your brother has managed to pull this all together with some others. However, you need not thank me. We all need a little help sometimes. I am just sorry that I could not heal him well during that fight. But you are right..he has a tendency to charge into something when his emotions are high or when he is not thinking clearly, for better or worse. So it is nice that he planned this. Most could use a break nowadays.
no subject
[While his brother is not innocent in all of this--he does tend to antagonize Ganondorf whenever he can--death is still an overreaction to what had been a childish prank.]
I cannot say if you helped him enough or not during that fight. I was not caught up in it and he has not said much about it, but I imagine you and everyone else there did the very best they could to make things right. And whatever magic Ganondorf was using was defeated since the floors returned to normal. That is the important thing.
I think we could all use a break, even those who will not admit it and that is the nice thing about a party like this. People can stop by and have fun without admitting anything. It is why I am glad to see so many here and taking advantage of it.
no subject
[Death was an overreaction, in chaos's opinion. However..chaos knew that not everyone saw things the way he did.]
Perhaps..but even though we all tried, it cannot be denied that I might have been able to do more, if I had gotten closer to him. Three dragons are quite tough.
[But not unbeatable. However, at that last comment, chaos nodded.]
That is true..it is nice that people are having some fun here. And I am sure that if a few wallflowers appear, others will be able to peel them off.
no subject
[Diarmuid could comment more on Ganondorf and his tactics, but he chooses not to. As he had mentioned before this is not the time to be talking of such things and he really hadn't meant for the conversation to go as far as it had.]
Hopefully, he will not cause anyone too much trouble. Perhaps if I notice someone being a wallflower first, I will try to talk to them and warn them. This is my party after all. I should try to be a little social.
[He pauses a moment, and then suddenly laughs.]
Tell me, do you know where the term 'wallflower' even comes from? I know what it means from the information I was given by the Grail before the war started, but it tells me nothing about how such a creative term came into usage.
no subject
[He was smiling as he said that, and he didn't mean it as an insult. The thought of Lancer interacting with a really stubborn person was a bit humorous. That, and the question made chaos smile a little more.]
I believe I do. When one is growing flowers near a brick house, or and sort of structure, the flowers will support themselves on it and use it to help them stand and collect sunlight. Thus, they will be hard to pull from those structures, especially if their roots go deep. That is how the term got used.
no subject
[Indeed, as Diarmuid looks over the crowd he spots his other roommate already standing off to the side looking rather stern. He makes a mental note to talk to Edgeworth to try and avoid any kind of problem, since Edgeworth strikes Diarmuid as one of those people who might get upset if his brother tried too hard to make him smile.
After a moment, he turns his attention back to chaos.]
That does make sense. Thank you. It is difficult for me sometimes. I have all this modern information, but there are gaps in some of the most inconvenient places.
no subject
[chaos noticed where Diarmuid's attention was diverted, but said nothing about it.]
Don't mention it. We all need help sometimes. I am just glad I can help. I can remember several times where I was not up to date on technology or terms as things changed or moved. You will get used to it.
no subject
[Diarmuid shakes his head and laughs.]
I hope I get used to it someday, but sometimes I am not so sure. So much has changed since I first lived in Ireland so very long ago.
no subject
[chaos didn't return the laugh, but he still smiled.]
I am sure that you will. After all, people who were in universes with levels of technology that were less than this Tower's have probably adapted. So you shall be alright as well, I think.
no subject
[He smiles and bows slightly to chaos.]
It was good to meet you. I hope that we can meet again soon. In the meantime, please enjoy the party.
no subject
I am sure it does..but I am sure that shall get the hang of it soon. It was good to meet you..I hope you enjoy the rest of your birthday. I left you an ice sculpture of a bird on the drinks table. If it's still intact, it's yours.
no subject
Thank you! I should go look at it before it melts then. It sounds beautiful, but if it is made of ice, I can't imagine it will last very long. The drinks table is a good place for it. Let everyone admire your hard work before it is gone.
no subject
You are welcome..but it is not that beautiful, as I am rather new to making ice sculptures. It probably won't last long..but if it does melt, I can always make you another, if you ask.
no subject
[He smiles, bowing his head again.]
Thank you. I will remember that. Please, enjoy yourself for the rest of the party.
no subject
[chaos returned the bow again and chuckled to himself.]
You are welcome..and remember to enjoy your own party. Happy Birthday.
