Finally, another party

Setting: Meadow
Format: Anything goes
Summary: Lancer throws his brother a party. Everyone can come except for the Archer (meaning they can come crash the party anyways)! Feel free to tag into any of the threads set up or invent your own scenario.
Warnings: None yet!

[It had taken some preparing, but the party was finally set up in a satisfactory way. There was a table for food and drink dragged in from the cafeteria, a wooden bucket filled with water with fruit floating in it, a strange paper mache Jason head pinata stacked on a scarecrow body, and a board with a pig with a Ganon head scribbled on it along with several spiraling paper "tails" attached to thumbtacks. There are no party decorations, but Lancer figures the flowers and sunshine should be decoration enough.]

[Now it's just a matter of waiting for people to show up.]

Wait, no. Once it's actually walked woozily into the meadow proper, one can see that carefully holding onto the box is one (1) Sayaka Miki. She sets it down on the grass with a ponderously loud sound, and wheezes something about sweet victory.]</sub>

[It's not really pre-party anymore once the person who the party is being thrown for arrives, right? Or maybe that doesn't really count since Diarmuid doesn't realize he's walking into a party. His birthday was over a week ago and despite some initial suspicions that his brother or one of his friends was going to try and organize something to celebrate, when nothing had happened, he had just forgotten about it. After all, there was always something new to distract a person in the tower.

He really doesn't think anything of it either when his brother's letter asking him to meet him in the meadow arrives. They have been needing to talk after all and the letter had said it was important. What is so important about a birthday?

When Diarmuid sees the set up in the meadow, he almost turns around and walks back out thinking he's interrupting something that had already been planned. Seeing his brother busy actually setting things up instead of just goofing around is what makes him realize what the party really is.

He still almost walks out not really wanting to waste time on such a thing. What stops him, though, is the thought that after the month everyone has been through, they could use a fun distraction from their pain. If his brother wants to use Diarmuid's birthday as a reason to do that, then why not?

Besides, if nothing else, maybe he will run into a few of the people he needs to talk to there and the upbeat mood might make the conversations they need to have a little easier. And who knows? He might actually have...fun. How long had it been since that had happened?]

[While chaos was known for being slow sometimes and lazy, he was..actually very curious about this birthday party, and interested in seeing both Lancer and the birthday boy, Diarmuid. Since he knew that you were supposed to bring presents to a party, he had tried carving a small ice bird, using his powers and ability to summon ice.

He could now be found smiling and wandering about the floor, wondering where he should put said ice sculpture. It wasn't in any danger of melting..for now.]

[Yotsuba, wanting to take another look at the meadow she had seen before, had wandered up here, her rock sling sash tied around her, just in case she ran into anything. However, when she saw the festivities, all she could do was smile, open-mouthed, as she walked around and looked about. To the first person she bumped into, she would have one, very important question, asked happily.]

What's going on?! It is a fes..festival?!

[There's a gray-haired teenager standing on the grass by the stairs, glancing around at the ongoings in the decorated meadow curiously, but having no particular inclination to join in with the preparations. The party was yet to begin.

Hidetoshi can't help but smile a little at the atmosphere, the warm sunlight and some stations for recreational activities set up. It was a pleasant change, to put it one way.

There's a neatly packaged bundle under his arm, clearly intended for the birthday boy.]

[Claudia isn't actually here for the party. She's here to find Lancer and apologize to him for what happened between him, her, and Kariya the previous month. The locale only makes her more determined to do just that.]

[Her posture is definitely that of a woman on a mission as she looks this way and that, scanning the area for her "target."]

[Ryoji is usually the type to be fashionably late to these kinds of things, but he decided to come early to help with the festivities. He's a little nervous, but he tries his best to stay calm and cheerful today. He doesn't want to worry Diarmuid at his own party!

He'll be wandering around and looking for something to help set up, and also keeping an eye out for the birthday boy.]

[ Data unfortunately did not know Lancer that well, but he had spoken with him enough time that he though attending to his birthday party would be polite as well as an appropriate thing.

He was only 'bothered' not to have any presents as was the custom for birthdays, he'd have painted something but did not know what. He'll have to ask lancer for what he'd like to see painted.

Besides party were a formidable occasion to study human behavior and he would do just that for now. ]

Food and Drinks

[There's a large amount of food here. And it's both pretty and delicious because Cu Chulainn had some good cooks helping out. Of course, there's a cake too.]

[Of course, there are a few more plates brought up every now and again; Hei did make a lot of dishes, doing the best he could given the materials presented with him, and avoiding the flower theme.

After setting down another set of plates, he is enjoying his own food, taking bits and pieces from some of the other stuff he didn't make. He seemed pleased overall.]

Not bad.

[A party with people and decent food and drink. Ah, the things that he missed of a normal sample of humanity. It was also a nice break from the cafeteria food, too.

Don't mind the guy humming as he opens up a bottle of wine. He's totally supposed to be here.]

*Enoch is having, predictably enough, a glass of wine. He leans on an empty spot at the table, watching the party with a content little smile on his face. Just to have life around him...that was enough sometimes.*

[Standing by one end of the table is France, who is quick to talk up his food to whoever gets within earshot. His hair is done up in a ponytail, and he's a bit exhausted from working all day to make enough food for everyone at the party, but when he leans against the table, it gives off the look of someone more suave and confident than tired.]

You there, darling. Care to try some of this? [He gestures toward the food he's made with a grand sort of hand motion, and he speaks in what can only be called a flirtatious purr.] I'm sure you'll love it!

Pin the Tail on the Piggy

[It's not a donkey, its a pig with its face colored green and red hair and big frowning red eyebrows drawn on it to make it resemble Ganondorf. The "tails" are paper spirals taped to thumbtacks.]

Pinata

[The pinata is unnerving, given that it's a Jason head. If someone hits and breaks it, it turns out Lancer filled it with dried berries as an alternative to candy.]

[Of course, there's no blindfold, but hey, you're hitting a Jason head.]

[Oh. A game. Well, he's willing to try.

It takes Sephiroth about a moment to obliterate the Jason head with a single stroke, which showers him with berries. He blinks, brushing berries out of his hair.

What is the point of this? It's not much of a contest.]

"Apple" Bobbing

[Less like apples and more every fruit the right size, but a wooden barrel filled with water and fruit has been set up. Try your luck?]

Wallflowers

[Because there's always gonna be people who don't want part in the main festivities.]

[ It doesn't feel right being here still, so Mami's off to the side, watching everyone. It was wonderful seeing everyone celebrate her friend's birthday, she had to admit, and there was even a light smile on her face.

She wanted to talk to Diarmuid, but she has yet to see him. Feel free to give her a poke and start up a conversation with her though! ]

[Kariya isn't the happiest of partygoers. He hadn't wanted to come to this party at all, but Lancelot had forced him to attend. He's still angry at Diarmuid and feels awkward about seeing him. The lingering curse, if that's what it is, doesn't make him feel any better, only adding to his nerves. His face feels hot. It would be better if he hadn't come. He isn't in the right frame of mind for festivities, and he doesn't want to ruin others' happiness.

But now that he's here, he might as well stay. He's sure Lancelot would drag him back if he tried to leave, and he's not willing to waste a Command Seal on this.

He stands on the sidelines of the party. Wallflower that he is, he's leaned down to pick some of the actual flowers and holds them up to smell them, breathing in deeply. They distract him slightly from his agitation and distress.]

[Is one allowed to be a wallflower at their own party? The answer doesn't probably matter that much because Diarmuid's not technically being a wallflower. He had participated in a few of the games and talked with some people, but is now just standing back and watching everyone else have fun and realizing that while he had been initially worried, his brother's idea had been a good one. A very good one.

And so he stands, drink in hand just watching everyone have fun with a silly grin on his face. He actually seems happy himself for once. The fact that seeing others happy is one of the things that will always make him feel better probably has a lot to do with that.]

Stage

[So after this, Lancer has turned over the bucket used to bob for "apples" and made it into a makeshift stage. Now he's standing on the stage, cupping his hands around his and not-quite-yelling something to the entire party.]

Attention please, attention please! This party is too quiet, so if you can sing or dance and have funny stories to share, get up here and give us a show!

Ah...I don't know any songs completely appropriate for a party like this, but...I could sing a harvest festival song.

[Thorin didn't really know why he was here. He just heard a rumour of a party being held within the Meadow area. He looked around, just to see if anyone was around that he knew. Perhaps, Legolas or maybe Samwise would be here also?

From what he could see, there was food and drink available. People seemed to be in a good mood. It made a change from the usual tedium of the tower and the horrors within. He leaned against a nearby tree, before making his way towards the drinks table.]
