Finally, another party

Setting: Meadow
Format: Anything goes
Summary: Lancer throws his brother a party. Everyone can come except for the Archer (meaning they can come crash the party anyways)! Feel free to tag into any of the threads set up or invent your own scenario.
Warnings: None yet!

[It had taken some preparing, but the party was finally set up in a satisfactory way. There was a table for food and drink dragged in from the cafeteria, a wooden bucket filled with water with fruit floating in it, a strange paper mache Jason head pinata stacked on a scarecrow body, and a board with a pig with a Ganon head scribbled on it along with several spiraling paper "tails" attached to thumbtacks. There are no party decorations, but Lancer figures the flowers and sunshine should be decoration enough.]

[Now it's just a matter of waiting for people to show up.]

[Diarmuid raises an eyebrow at his brother.]

Do you really think it's a good idea to taunt Archer? He's behaving for the moment. Let him be.

He pulled my ponytail.

[He's aware of how childish this sounds.]

Oh, did he now?

[He can't help it. His brother sounds so petulant that Diarmuid reaches out and takes a tug on that ponytail himself.]

Now I have too. What are you going to do to me?

[He quickly sticks his tongue out at Diarmuid and reaches over to pull on Diarmuid's dangling forelock.]

[Diarmuid laughs, pulling away gently so not to yank his hair any more than it already has been.]

I expect you didn't do that to Archer because if you had, the party would have become a lot more exciting for all the wrong reasons.

Of course I didn't. Not my party to ruin.

[Diarmuid drops an arm around his brother's shoulders.]

It's your party as much as mine with all the work you put into it, but thank you. I think we would all rather there not be any fighting now. We can pick on Archer some other time. It wouldn't hurt to restrain that ego a bit...if that is even possible.

We can double him, but...

How do we make sure he doesn't like it? Or at least, dislikes it enough to get flustered?

That is the real problem. This is Archer we are talking about. Your version is very different from the one I met in my war. It is impossible for me to predict him and lets be honest. It's Archer. He could very well like whatever we do just to be difficult.

You got that right. Only thing I can think of that would affect him is Ayaka, and I ain't involving her in this.

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

No, I don't want her involved either. She has to deal with him hassling her enough as it is from what I have heard.

Yeah, you heard right. He thinks she's gonna drop everything to marry him or something.

[He slowly shakes his head.]

At this rate, he seems less like the womanize his legend says and more like someone who specializes in getting his ass kicked by women.

Marry him?

[Worry enters Diarmuid's eyes, but it seems to fade somewhat as his brother continues talking.]

So you are saying she can keep him in line if he tries anything? I am impressed. I didn't know if anyone could do that.

Well, she's held out against him pretty well so far.

[He takes a moment to process the implications of Diarmuid's words.]

Wait...so if you already know that much about him, how exactly did your meetings with him go?

[Archer said it was nothing too bad, but Archer had different standards.]

Hm? I wouldn't say I know that much about him, but you know Archer. When you talk to him he tends to talk about himself even if he is trying to mask it behind some kind of 'lesson.'

[Diarmuid shrugs.]

Our meetings have gone fine so far I guess. I misstepped a bit when we first met, but that was my fault for assuming he was much like the Archer of my war.

[It's just a shame that misstep means that he will probably never have the chance to spar with Archer here. He would love to battle those twin swords someday.]

[He lets out a sigh of relief.]

Guess the guy isn't that bad at reading other people's reactions then. But tell me if he ever bothers you too much.

Don't worry. I think that it helps that I am willing to at least acknowledge he isn't that bad and deserves some respect. His method of delivering advice could use some improvement, but not even the King of Heroes can be perfect.

[It would be nice if he learned other ways to deliver that advice besides embarrassing Diarmuid so badly, though.]

Do I dare ask why you two were talking about me?

[Lancer looks sheepish as he rubs at the back of his head.]

I was just warning him not to hurt you, and trying to find out if he did it already. Because I'd kick his ass if he did.

[Diarmuid shakes his head and smiles.]

It's okay, brother. I do appreciate it, but I doubt he will do anything to hurt me. Embarrass me? Yes, he doesn't seem to have a problem with that, but hurting me... I don't know that he would unless I made him angry and if I did that, then I probably deserve it.

[Lancer has to take a moment to think it over.]

If you say so...

[Because in the end, Archer wasn't that bad.]

I do. Please don't worry.

[He shakes his head and laughs.]

Honestly, he is not bad at all compared to the Archer from my world. Him...now he I would worry about if he came here, but this Archer he not so bad. I would worry more over his plans for Ayaka than his plans for me.

Got it. Then what if he goes too far with Ayaka? You up for helping me restrain him?

If he goes too far, you better believe I will be right there with you to make sure he learns his lesson.

[Diarmuid gives him a very serious look.]

In the most painful way possible.

[Lancer wears a serious expression as well.]

Good.

[Then, the slightest hint of a smile tugs on his lips.]

But save the final blow for me.

She is your master. The last blow is yours.

[He grins at his brother.]
