Finally, another party
Characters: ProtoLancer
puppy_lancer, Zero Lancer
oathshackledbird and anyone interested in attending a birthday party. Details here.
Setting: Meadow
Format: Anything goes
Summary: Lancer throws his brother a party. Everyone can come except for the Archer (meaning they can come crash the party anyways)! Feel free to tag into any of the threads set up or invent your own scenario.
Warnings: None yet!
[It had taken some preparing, but the party was finally set up in a satisfactory way. There was a table for food and drink dragged in from the cafeteria, a wooden bucket filled with water with fruit floating in it, a strange paper mache Jason head pinata stacked on a scarecrow body, and a board with a pig with a Ganon head scribbled on it along with several spiraling paper "tails" attached to thumbtacks. There are no party decorations, but Lancer figures the flowers and sunshine should be decoration enough.]
[Now it's just a matter of waiting for people to show up.]

He was thankful for the offer, especially as times without food were more frequent. "Thank you." He took another sample of food and tasted it.

[Diarmuid gives Suzaku a curious look.]
Was trapping something you taught yourself or something you learned part of your military training?

[He laughs.]
Even maybe when it shouldn't have been. Sneaking out when it was dark. Playing in the rain. I drove my father crazy.

[Diarmuid hasn't ever been in a car, but thanks to the Grail he knows more about them than he could ever wish to. Enough to know a ten year old driving one would not be a good idea.]
If my friend Oscar was alive today, I can see him probably trying something like that. I would be just as bad an idea as when you tried it, but he would do it anyway...

[He cut off with a shrug] I never did learn to drive properly... I piloted a knightmare frame but never actually got a regular driving license.
no subject
[Diarmuid shakes his head for a moment before switching the topic.]
A knightmare frame. I think you mentioned piloting one of those before, but I never really asked you about it. What exactly is it?
no subject
His thoughts drifted and he nodded, he had guessed that Diarmuid had no idea what one was, as Cu had had little idea either.] It's a humonoid fighting machine, they are officially called Humanoid Autonomous Armored Knights but that name doesn't exactly strike fear into your enemy.
They are about five meters tall, the cockpit is in the head of the machine and you control it from there, they have different weapons and run on a power source called sakuradite, which is a natural resource of Japan. [And one of the main reasons for Britannia's invasion.]
The system is a little more complicated than that, but it is enough to know that it is unlike any other fighting machine in the world, once Britannia created they pretty much ensured their dominance. Other countries have created them now though, the European Universe and the Chinese Federation both have armies to rival Britannia's.
Mine was an experimental one, called Lancelot. [He seemed to realise how much he had spoken and shut his mouth with a snap.]
no subject
It was called Lancelot? Did you name it or do you know why it was named that if not?
[Could it be that despite how different Suzaku's world is from the one Diarmuid comes from, the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round is still known there?]

[There is excitement in his eyes. Perhaps it might seem odd, but it makes him happy to have found a link between his world and Suzaku's because they are so very different.]
Sir Lancelot was summoned into the war I fought in along with King Arthur. There are versions of both of them here in the tower. Have you met them yet?
no subject
And even more suprised to hear there were people from that legend here in the tower.] No I haven't yet, but it is the same legend, I would guess. Britannia's capital was called Pendragon. The emperors task force of elite knights were called The Knights of the Round.
What are they like? Anything like the legends?
no subject
As for those who are in the tower, they both are and aren't what you would expect from their legends. Of course, this is not all that surprising to me since I know well how easily legends can change over time.
[He had grown up in an era that used the spoken words as a means of passing down stories, lessons and the such, after all.]
I am particularly pleased to have had the chance to meet Sir Lancelot here because he was one of the heroes called into the same war as I was. Unfortunately, the class he was called into required him to be berserk at all times and stripped his ability to reason from him. For whatever reason--call it good luck or something else--the version of him in the tower has had his sanity restored and because of that I have had the chance to know him for who he really is. While I was worried when he first arrived because I feared his presence would hurt a dear friend of mine, I have since learned that fear was completely unfounded.
no subject
"That's awful, for him to not have his reason..." That there was a class that did that? And if the tower had restored it... then that was the first good thing he had heard of them doing ever.
"I am glad your fears are unfounded and that it seems that you get on well."

"I am glad also, that he wasn't."

He was glad that Diarmuid seemed determined to take down such an unfair system, and hoped that he managed it. Though he thought if they did get out of here and back to their worlds, after restoring them, that they would have a good chance.
However he had a more important question. "Your new master?"
no subject
Diarmuid pauses for a moment at Suzaku's next question. Had he not mentioned Waver to the other man before?
"Yes, while it was not my original intent when I came here since this place somehow negates the need for me to have a master to survive, I have taken a new master. His name is Waver Velvet. There is more than one person in the tower currently with that name. The one I am bound to is the elder of the two. I really don't consider him a master, though. He is my friend and partner. We are working toward a common goal, so it only makes sense for us to work together like this. Besides there are advantages to us actually being linked together even if it is no longer necessary."
no subject
But to hear that even if such a thing had not happened he would not have recieved his wish anyways, or rather not remembered it...
"I hope that you succeed in taking the system down."
He had not met anyone of that name yet, but he was very glad that Diarmuid had found someone to work with, even after he had been betrayed. "I am glad, it is good that you don't have to fight alone."
