01; (belated) intro of a citizen of the water tribe

Setting: Dorm 04-12 & hallways, second library (floor 19), workshop (floor 15).
Format: Starting with action, but can do prose.
Summary: Sokka wakes up in the tower.
Warnings: None right now.


[Dorms 04-12 + hallways]
[Sokka can't believe his world has been destroyed. He just helped save it, not six months ago. It can't just be gone.

So, it must be a trap. Someone has taken him hostage or something. Why someone would want to take him, he's not quite sure. Although he supposes his friends might be around here somewhere too.

Though... kidnapped by people who had been kind enough to leave his sword for him in the trunk at the end of the bed he'd woken up in. A sword he hasn't seen in months. As well as his boomerang, bag... and clothes, thankfully.

Okay. Odd, for sure.

After a brief moment as he changes and works over his options, Sokka wanders toward the door, sword braced as though ready for any attack.]

Hello?

[A pause as he peeks his head around the doorway, frowning.]

Uh, kidnappers? Hello?

[He looks around for anyone about.]

'Kay, already weird.


[Floor nineteen | Second Library]
[The more Sokka explores the place, the more confused he becomes. Every floor he passes and peeps into seems stranger than the last. The library, however, is something he's more than glad to see. Finally. Maybe they'll be some answer as to what the hell's going on. He's soon looking curiously through the books available.]


[Floor fifteen | Workshop]
[Sokka had not been intending to stop on this floor, but once he catches sight of the tools available, he stops. Frowning, his hand brushes over the collar around his neck. He doesn't know what it's for, but he knows he doesn't want it. If his sister Katara were here, she might be able to bend the liquid inside out of the stupid thing. But it doesn't look like she is, so he'll have to work on his own here.

Alright, let's get this thing off.]

Accelerator happens to be looking around the library when he accidentally bumped into this kid. He can't be completely faulted, he has a cane. He nearly knocks over the newcomer.

"Watch where the hell you're going."

Despite his harsh words, still offers his hand to the stranger to help him up.

Library

[sokasm]

Sokka is already so distracted, looking down at the pile of books that he'd picked out at random, that he doesn't even see the other teenager until he's blinking up at him from the floor.

"Hey- you bumped into me!"

He takes the hand offered though, looking a little apologetic, before bending to pick up the fallen books.

"I wouldn't have bumped into you if you'd been watching where you were going."

His tone is a little curt, but his actions are still rather benign. He runs a hand lazily through his snow white hair.

"But I guess it happens, eh?"

[sokasm]

"Sorry, sorry." He put up his hands in apology. "I was looking for books that had any information on this place."

His eyes travelled along the bookshelves, hand subconsciously running along the collar around his neck.

"You don't know if there are any around here, do you? I'll take anything."

Floor nineteen

[Tohko, being one of the librarians and a book girl, was cleaning up and putting books back into their proper places. Of course, being stuck in one place for so long wasn't good. While there was nothing tasty here, the fact that her retrieval unit stalker wasn't giving her any privacy was annoying. As she worked, she walked quickly through the stacks, trying to give him the slip..and when she turned around one corner, she spotted a boy looking at a book. Not one to ignore a patron, Tohko smiled and walked up to him.]

Good morning! Need help finding anything?

Floor nineteen

[sokasm]

[Sokka jumped when he heard the woman's voice, as though ready for an attack, but when he saw that she meant no threat, he relaxed a little.]

Oh, well. Not exactly.

[He frowned, glancing briefly down at the book that was so confusing, it was practically foreign to him.]

But I am still a little... confused. Can you tell me where I am? And how to get out of this... creepy, weird hotel or whatever this is?

Floor nineteen

[At that, Tohko sighed and scratched her head. There was really no good way to break this to newcomers.]

I'm sorry to say this, but there isn't any way to get out of this Tower right now. And this isn't a hotel. This is the Tower of Animus. If you want me to tell you everything I know about it, I will. It's best that you get up to speed if you want to live.

[sokasm]

[If he wanted to live? Well, that sounded ominous. He blinked at Tohko, his expression looking torn between disbelief and fear.]

Uh. Sure. I'd like to live, please.

Workshop

[The evil meeting had gone some way to calming Nesir down, it refocused her anyways, gave her a reminder of purpose.

Carving was another good way to calm down and that's what she was doing at the moment, it wasn't doing much to calm her as the design she was trying was small and fiddly and she could have really done with all her fingers. She was purposefully ignoring the worker unit in the corner.

She looks up to see the boy and his collar removal attempts.] I can be telling you now that your efforts do be being futile.

Workshop

[sokasm]

[This gets Sokka's attention. He frowns over at the woman, knife poised by the collar around his neck.]

What're you talking about? This'll get it off in no time!

[culbutiri]

Nothing will be getting it off, not even magic if you do be having that.

[She shrugged again] And if they do be taking it from you you will be dying, so you do be probably be wanting to be keeping it on.

[sokasm]

[Okay. The weird level went up again.]

Are you saying I'll die if I get this thing off?

Workshop

[THIS IS A BAD IDEA. He's already seen enough to know exactly what happens, even if he couldn't really take it off by myself. Before long, the teenager walks at the other, standing there with his Katana and the sub-machinegun strapped to his side.]

Don't try to remove it! It will kill you.

[Sokka, Naoya. Pleased to meet you.]

Workshop

[sokasm]

[Sokka looks up at the other teenager, brow raised and a little offended. Kill him? Did this guy think he was going to accidentally cut himself or something?]

Hey, relax. I'm not about to slice my neck or anything. I know what I'm doing.

[The machinegun is something he can't help but stop and notice. He's never seen anything like that before.]

[imperialsun]

[Oh for the love of-]

It's not a question of you hurting yourself. It's that removing the collar will literally kill you.

[He points to his own, blue in color and hanging around his neck just like Sokka's.]

We're stuck with them. I've been here for year and I've seen them removed. You die from the blood and liquid loss.

[sokasm]

[Sokka drops the knife and runs his fingers over his own orange collar, not for the first time that day.]

How does that even work?

Second Library.

[ Madoka has never seen this many books in one place! Or at least, the library at Mitakihara wasn't nearly as large as this! Is there a librarian to help her out? Oh...

She sees someone up ahead though. He doesn't seem to be reading so maybe he could help her a bit? ]

E-excuse me?

Second Library.

[sokasm]

[Sokka looks up from the books he'd been examining, eyeing the girl curiously.]

Huh? Hi!

[madokacries]

O-oh, um. Do you know where the l-librarian is, or are we just free to browse...?

[ C'mon Madoka, you can't be scared of someone who looks like he's the same age as you, maybe a year or two older, but it's not like he's an adult or anything. ]

[sokasm]

Oh. I don't know. There's probably a librarian around. But I figure you can take what you need.

[Or he hopes. But it is a library.]

Workshop | AND A BELATED TAG TO THE START I LIKE TO CALL "BOOMERANG SWORD WIELDING BADASSES"

[ Link was simply using this floor as usual to make things. Clothing, to be specific, sewing is a very good hobby to have when you're an adventurer, and Link was mending one of their other tunics, and then they notice Sokka. At first Link is quiet--someone they haven't met, perhaps they can go make friends, but then Link notices Sokka going for the tools.

... And for the collar.

... And the Hylian promptly drops their things and runs over to him, freaking out. ]

No, no, no! Do not do that, do not do that, we need those, you'll die! Please, do not!

[ asldkmdflkmg LINK HAS SEEN WHAT HAPPENS SOKKA NO STOP--so have a not-elf with a sword and shield and various other things making gestures of worry at you in quiet urgency, Sokka. ]

Workshop | THIS SOUNDS LIKE AN EXCELLENT PLAN

[sokasm]

[Sokka is so startled by the Link's desperate calls that instead of slicing the collar as he'd intended, his hand slips and he instead gives himself a small cut to the chin, before quickly dropping the instrument.]

Ow!

[He covers the cut with his hand, staring with some cluelessness at the not-elf.]

What? What are you talking about?!

IT IS THE PERFECT PLAN, IT CANNOT GO WRONG

[ocariness]

[ ... Oops sorry Sokka--but it's not a good idea to do that. ]

I apologize, but that is a very bad idea. These collars are very important, and I am fairly sure you cannot remove them anyway. If you did, it would do more than kill you, so please reconsider.

[ Really they'll... get you something for the cut in a bit, sorry, this is more important. ]

But there's plenty of things that could break this thing!

[Sokka wipes the blood from the cut on his chin with a frown and picks up a few of the sharp and dangerous tools on the workbench in front of him. He doesn't put them anywhere near his collar again, but examines them closely.]

And- How would taking it off kill you anyway?
