[Dorm Hallways]

[Watanuki trots through the halls with purpose. He's on a mission to find out what the hell happened and he's not giving up until he finds the answer. Sure there was that note he found but he's not dumb enough to believe something like that.

Maybe.

Okay, he's not ruling out that it can be true just yet but he'd like to get some confirmation first. Besides, he needs to find his friends the other residences of Ayakashi Hall, especially Karuta and Zange, to make sure they're okay.]

[Floor 87 (Poppy Room)]

[Watanuki's pretty sure he's gone down about half a million floors already and there's no end in sight. He's not even sure there's a bottom anymore. The entire way down, he's stuck to the stairway but what he sees on the floors he passes through makes him consider the letter's telling the truth because he's not sure what's real anymore. Either that or a demon's put some kind of spell on him. Or he's dreaming. Everything's confusing and he hates it. He just wants to be home or to see his friends or something.

He lets out a frustrated groan, and finally too tired to move on, he flops down onto right there in the middle of a stair. He lays there on his belly, all four legs stretched out, not really caring whether or not he's in anyone's way. Besides, he's too busy being angry at himself for letting some stairs get the better of him. How pathetic.

Which is why, if anyone were to walk by him, they would hear what appears to be a small raccoon dog mumbling to himself, obviously disgruntled.]

I'm so done with this stupid place.

[Cafeteria]


[It took him travelling down twenty floors before he realized that there were elevators. Twenty floors of odd rooms that can't possibly fit indoors. Twenty floors of slowly getting more and more weirded out by the tower. Not to mention twenty floors of hopping down countless flights of stairs in his tiny tanuki form.

Nevertheless, when he did, he took the elevator straight down to the bottom of the tower. He figured if anything, that's where the exit would be. What he found instead though was a cafeteria. While he's extremely wary of the place now, the smell of food makes his stomach grumble. He stands off to the side, conflicted over the fact of whether or not he should trust the food here.

Eventually, unable to take it anymore (because going down those stairs took a lot of energy) he makes his way over to where he noticed other people picking up food. When he gets there though, he realizes he has another problem. The window is much too high for him to reach.]

Goddammit.

[Watanuki tries to stand up on his hind legs but that doesn't seem to help at all.]

Shit. You've gotta be kidding me.

[He's much too low on energy now to even consider transforming back into his human form so all he can do now is resort to leaping up, in attempts to reach the counter.]

[ .. It's so cute. Asahi's just been standing here for a while, watching the little creature jump up and down.. and she really can't take it, that thing really is way too cute! It's why after a while she quickly gets over, cooing already, and dropping to her knees so she can be on a more equal level. ]

[Oh god, anything but this. Watanuki stops his jumping and stares at the girl that just approached him, tail swishing from side to side in annoyance.]

What are you making those dumb noises for?

[Adorable? Excuse you, he is not adorable.]

Aren't you the cutest little thing out h-- [ Suddenly she stops midsentence, realising that.. it just talked, didn't it.. her eyes go a little wider. ]

W-wait, did you say something?

Why, can't I say things? You got a problem with that?

But you're an animal! Animals can't talk, that's ridiculous!

[ After everything you've seen here, this is the part you question, Asahi? ]

I'm not an animal though. [In case you can't tell, he's giving a 'are you stupid' look.] Despite looking like this, I'm human.

[ She can't tell. Probably. She's way too stuck in the surprise over all this to think about it rationally.. ]

H.. how can you actually be human?! Humans can't look like that, they wouldn't even be able to fit into a suit that small!

There are people who can turn into different things. I'm one of them. It's not so weird where I came from.

[integrous]

[ This is.. so weird. But then again, she's staring at him while he talks, and he isn't telling a lie - he really must be a human in the form of an animal. That's definitely weird, but then again, all the other powers she's seen here were super weird too, weren't they..? ]

So you usually walk around like this? Isn't it more comfortable being a human?

Of course it is but I can't help how I look. Believe me, if I could, I'd be human right now. I'd rather not be like this unless it's necessary.

[His tail twitches again.]

Is this tower that boring that all of you here pick up the hobby of sticking your nose in other people's business?

[integrous]

H-hey, this has nothing to do with sticking my nose into other people's business or whatever! Anyone would find an animal walking around like that cute.. and then if it talks, of course they're going to be curious! It's natural!

[ She huffs. ]

[Sorry, he's just being difficult because he's annoyed with everything right now.]

Like I said, I'm not an animal. And curious or not, maybe I don't want to be bothered especially by someone making those goddamn noises.

[He means her cooing from earlier. There's not a lot he hates more that people doing things to remind him that he looks like a cute woodland creature.]

[ Oh, now he's done it. The huffing turns into a downright frown, and she's looking a little more angry.. she's just way too hot-blooded for this. ]

There's nothing wrong with those noises..! If you don't want to hear them, then stop looking like a freaking animal!

[Watauki's definitely not willing to lose when it comes to shouting.]

Like I said before, I can't help it! Do you think it's fun looking like this and getting people calling me cute? It's not!

Then how do you change back?! I'll help you!

[ .. Asahi, why suddenly the opposite.. although rather than a desire to help him it's probably since she doesn't want him to "fool" people by looking like this. ]

Uh. Just rest and food I guess.

[Maybe he's not going to mention that he wasted all his energy jumping down steps but that does explain why he was trying to get to the window before she started talking to him-- he was trying to get food.]

[integrous]

[ Well, she can help with that last one. She reaches down, picking him up - even if he protests against it, really - and puts him up on the counter. ]

See, there we go! Now make sure to eat up!

[He's at a loss for a bit before speaking gruffly.]

Thanks, I guess. Even though you didn't need to help me get up here at all.

[As he speaks though, a bowl of oatmeal is pushed towards him by one of the workers.]

Don't misunderstand, I wasn't doing it for your sake! This is so you won't deceive other people with your cuteness!

[ But with a huff she crosses her arms across her chest, watching the food.. ]
