Characters: Legolas and OPEN.
Setting: Forest floor, during the day.
Format: Prose to start, will swap though.
Summary: Zelda gave Legolas the ability to use Light Arrows. Cue practicing until exhausted.
Warnings: None?

Following Zelda giving Legolas the ability to use Light Arrows, the elf had found himself pondering just how to use them. He knew, like all of his people, how to force a sleep upon those that might terrorize them or to put fires to 'sleep' but he'd never done anything so fantastic as what Gandalf might do.

This was something he knew that he could do though, with practice. A lot of practice. And the sooner he got started, the better. She had mentioned enchanting his own arrows though, so that was how he would start.

The elf found a familiar spot, one he'd used to train many times before and where he usually started to go hunting, drew back and arrow and tried to focus. She'd said holy magic so he focused on that and tried but fired only a regular arrow. Again he fired and again he fired a regular arrow. He was patient though and kept focusing his energy until, finally, he was able to fire one holy powered Light Arrow at the tree, watching at the light shined as it left his hold and slammed into the tree.

With a grin, one that was noticeably smug, he drew on what he had moments before and fired another.

Haldir's brow knitted together for a moment as he tried to make sense of what Legolas said. "Zelda gave you this power?" He repeated slowly with some skepticism in his gaze. Zelda was a very bright and intelligent young woman, but he hadn't known her to be skilled in magic as well. In Middle-earth, magic was rarely used if even at all during the ages. Such power typically came with a price.

Still looking rather confused, Haldir awaited for Legolas to speak more about his new skill. "How is this possible?" He asked in a hushed tone. "I did not realize the depth of the bond you share with Zelda."

That "wisely" comment won a slight smirk from Haldir. He didn't doubt that Legolas would use such a power for the greater good, but use it wisely? That's the part that he honestly doubted the most. "Then I pray that you do." He replied with a slight nod.

"Not many seem to know of Zelda well but I suppose this is how she wants it." Haldir turned his gaze from Legolas and glanced towards the tree again. He still didn't quite believe that Zelda possessed such an ability before, but then again he never really knew her.

"She is indeed important to us all." The march warden replied after a moment or two of silence. "Though, I wonder if she realizes that."

News about the passing of the ring still somewhat surprise him. Haldir couldn't quite understand why Gandalf possessed such a strong faith in the Hyrulian Princess, but he learned to accept it. The wizard would never blindly trust anyone without good reason or merit. There hasn't been a single time ever in his memory that Zelda earned any scorn. She was beloved by all and feared by her foes. The princess even had a few champions who vowed to fight in her stead, one being a young boy by the name of Link. In truth, Haldir could find no fault in Zelda despite her somewhat comical temper.

"Mithrandir is wise to trust her." The march warden replied with a slight smile. "That is a truth that goes without saying, doesn't it?" His smile widen a little.
