[The elevator dings as its doors slide open--that's not an unusual occurrence, really, for a floor that not only houses one of the elevator stopping points but also the most reliable food sources. What's unusual, though, is the boy who steps out of it.

Zo enters the cafeteria, looking around as if he hasn't seen it in some time, which is true. He's followed by one retrieval unit. While she looks as blank as any retrieval unit, her collar is chipped and she wears glasses. In fact, she might be a bit familiar to some, though she will not respond (but there's something... Unusually alive about her, even so).

Though he's careful not to stray far from his bodyguard, he smiles at the floor in general.]

Um... Hi! Wow, it's been a while since I've been up here!

[ Ganondorf quickly looked at the retrieval unit, paying little attention to her but noticing the chipped collar and glasses. ]

And who would you be?

[ Before turning back to Zo. ]

Visit everybody, hum? Is that related to the recent influx of information?

[The retrieval unit offers no response, though she does watch Ganondorf.]

That stuff's kind of weird... I didn't really know any of it. But I was gonna visit even before then, I just had to wait until my biggest job was done.

[ Ganondorf stares at her for a few second before focusing his attention on Zo. ]

Right. [He scoffs. Excuse him, he doesn't believe you.] What biggest job are you talking of?

[animusnpcs]

Saving people! It's always kind've exhausting and it makes me really busy at the beginning of the month.

[great_king_of_evil]

... What's the point given they will all die within less than a year anyway?

[animusnpcs]

[His face clouds.] Um, Ruana's orders. And--um, it's just me who thinks this, but maybe someone I bring will know how to fix it...

[great_king_of_evil]

[ ... ]

Even if someone knew how to fix it, how could they? Maybe some amongst us could do it. But to know whether or not we can, you would have to let us inspect the systems. Otherwise your hope is futile.

[animusnpcs]

Even when I'm in charge there's some stuff I can't let you do, like going downstairs. I think it can be fixed, since it'd be really dumb to build a Tower and not be able to fix stuff in it, but none of us know how and the others don't want you guys looking at the energy cores and stuff.

[ The energy cores, hmm... ]

I see. I assume the energy core are probably under Riki's or Jason's jurisdiction...?

[animusnpcs]

It's Riki's job. He's in charge of a lot of that sort of thing.

[great_king_of_evil]

I see... Anyway, boy, would you mind answering a few more questions?

Sure, if I know the answers and I'm allowed to tell you them!

The most important question is about our bodies. When we walk upon our dead homeworlds, we do walk into bodies, collarless bodies. I assume these to be our real bodies. Am I correct?

[animusnpcs]

Yes. Those are left on your worlds, so when you go back your souls go back to your normal bodies.

[great_king_of_evil]

[He nods.] Then, why don't you bring our real bodies, rather than have us kept in these pale imitations? You summon the monsters and they are made of flesh, don't you?

[animusnpcs]

Monsters aren't the same as people. They're simpler, so the process doesn't break their souls like it would if I did it to a person.

[great_king_of_evil]

Break their souls...? What would happen to our souls if you tried to bring our bodies in?

[animusnpcs]

They turn into other things. [He shivers.]

[great_king_of_evil]

What things?

[animusnpcs]

The phantoms. [He shifts, uncomfortable.] Those're my fault.

[great_king_of_evil]

The phantoms? They are people you tried to bring with their bodies then...? [He looks annoyed. Thank you for ruining his plan.] Why did you do that?

[animusnpcs]

A while back everybody wanted people from their worlds with them, so I tried that, but it just made phantoms instead.

[great_king_of_evil]

So pulling our bodies isn't an option? [Wonderful.] So tell me boy, how are we supposed to survive past the deadline if you cannot bring our real bodies in and if we won't be allowed to fix your power cores?
