Setting: Floor 99, the crystal caves

Summary: Aleph and April are getting married. No, they don't care that they're doing it in a horrortower in a Jason month - this is still a celebration.
Warnings: Nothing is likely to come up.
[Two demons guarded the entrance of the crystal caverns: the signs that they were 'dressed up' were the handmade flower crowns that adorned their heads. Upon meeting a guest to the party, one would usher them inside, where a small collection of folding chairs was set out with the requisite aisle in between them.
Other than that, it seemed very simply set up. Aleph and April needed a little time to get ready, so until then, guests would have the opportunity to mingle.]

[When April opens the pouch, she will find a pair of beautifully polished stones inside. Both stones have runes carved into them.]
I am only just coming to know you and Aleph, so it was hard to pick out something that would be useful to you. However, there are some things that everyone needs, especially in this place. This stone is marked with a rune for wisdom. It is a focus to help calm and direct the mind. The other stone is marked with a rune of protection.
[If April can sense magic at all, she will sense an aura coming of the second stone Diarmuid points to.]
Anything and everything can happen in this place so I had my brother cast a protection spell on that stone. It cannot shield you from harm directly, but it will work to protect you in more subtle ways.
[He laughs softly.]
Runic magic... It's a tricky thing. In some cases, it is perfectly fine working directly. For others, it likes to make you work for it.

If nothing else, I need to make up for my Master crashing the party. I hope it's not a big deal he came. I have a...history with weddings and was nervous about coming, but since it was such an important thing for you both, I didn't want to miss it.

In either event, it helps which is good since no one wants a nervous fool bringing down a wedding.
[He falls silent a moment, his hand raising to lightly touch the scar under his eye. Usually, there's a mole there, but it's kind of covered by the scar now.]
I've let my curse keep me from too many joyous occasions. It's time I stopped letting it control me so.

[April giggles, however her expression sobers slightly as she listens to what he says.]

[Diarmuid falls silent for several moments, his expression soft. His expression grows more stern, though, as he answers her question.]
When I was a young man, a spirit 'gifted' me with a special ability that caused any woman who looked upon my face to fall in love with me. It...caused me no end in of trouble when I lived since I had no control over it and it was always active, but here for the first time I am free of it. Most of the time. As with most 'gifts' from the Tower, this one has a catch in that while my curse is inactive most of the time, sometimes it activates randomly and without my knowledge. While not likely to happen, I think you can see why I was a little nervous about coming.
[And that's not even getting into the whole had to run off with his lord's betrothed bit.]

... I-if it helps, it might not have worked on me a-anyway. My brain processes things a lot differently than normal, d-due to my powers, so your curse might not have had any e-effect on me.

Basically, I'm able to... mentally link to electronics. So I can control them without needing to touch them and stuff like that, and I can also download data from them directly to my brain. So, my brain is almost like a computer, though an organic one. And you can't really curse a computer like how your curse does.

I don't know that much about computers as I have said, but that seems like and amazing and an amazingly useful ability. No wonder you are so good with them! In that case, you are probably right. I don't expect my curse would affect you at all.
[And what a relief that is. He is always happy to run into another person who he knows he won't end up accidentally hurting someday because of his curse.]

It might seem silly, but I am glad to hear that. Especially after that week when it was on almost constantly and affected both men and women... It's always nice to find someone who I know won't be hurt by it should something like that ever happen again.

That is why I am so glad to see you and Aleph taking this chance to celebrate what you have. Hopefully, it will be an example for others. While it might be our goal to eventually leave this place and go home--whatever home might be at that point--it doesn't mean we can't continue to live while we are here.

Y-yeah, that's what I t-thought. Even though we're gonna head home, I still... I-I still wanted to do this. W-with Aleph... J-just because we're here doesn't mean o-our lives come to a stop.
