Summary: Aleph and April are getting married. No, they don't care that they're doing it in a horrortower in a Jason month - this is still a celebration.
Warnings: Nothing is likely to come up.

[Two demons guarded the entrance of the crystal caverns: the signs that they were 'dressed up' were the handmade flower crowns that adorned their heads. Upon meeting a guest to the party, one would usher them inside, where a small collection of folding chairs was set out with the requisite aisle in between them.

Other than that, it seemed very simply set up. Aleph and April needed a little time to get ready, so until then, guests would have the opportunity to mingle.]

[A familiar hand shoved playfully at Diarmuid's shoulder, its owner smirking confidently.]

You're much too tense. As if I won't chase off any horde of raving fangirls that comes by, really.

[Diarmuid jumps when the hand touches his shoulder even though he registers Waver's voice at the same time. Unable to argue that he isn't tense after that, he settles for giving Waver a disgruntled look.]

I should talk to Aleph and let him know his demons are slacking if they let a shady guy like you in.

[He laughs and then his expression softens greatly along with his voice.]

Thank you. You know you didn't have to come...

[fionnuisce]

I am an incredibly sneaky individual. [He laughed waving a hand dismissively.]

You seemed concerned, so of course I made a point of showing up.

So I should add 'skilled at dodging demons' to your already impressive list of talents?

[Diarmuid laughs, Waver's presence already seeming to help calm him down.]

Have you ever been to a wedding before?

I talk my way out of these things wherever possible, actually.

[A slightly worried look crosses Diarmuid's face.]

If they make you uncomfortable, you don't have to stay. I will be all right. I promise.

It's fine. Somehow I doubt this to be the formal affair magi are more suited to. In fact, a more casual affair might be rather fun.

[Diarmuid laughs and winks at Waver.]

I have been told by the groom that Shiva will be officiating. How is that for fun?

...At this point, there's not a single thing that could surprise me. I suppose Lilith is a bridesmaid and Odin is the best man?

[A young winged woman waves at them and then returns to whatever she's doing.]

[Diarmuid chuckles, returning Lilim's wave.]

That would be Lilim. And you probably passed Anubis on your way in unless he stepped away for the moment and let one of the others take his place.

Aleph has...interesting friends.

...I've seen stranger. Not much stranger, but considering I use a liquid mercury familiar I've no room to judge.

Speaking of which. [He made a vague gesture with his hand; the Mystic Code in question came up behind him in its largely shapeless form and placed something in his hand. With a playful smirk and the smallest flourish, he held up a single yellow rose.]

This would be for you.

[Diarmuid takes the rose and, for a moment, he admires how beautiful it is. He then slips it into the pocket of of his dress shirt. Despite his next words, it's obvious he has no plans of giving it up.]

Shouldn't you be saving the flowers for the bride?

[He laughs.]

I can't believe you actually remembered. Does this mean I just took your first date too?

[fionnuisce]

I remember everything, or damn close to it. [Waver shrugged, folding his arms with a confident smirk.]

If that's what you'd call this, I would say that you have.

Since it would be your first date, I think you are the one who has to decide what this is called. Am I good enough to be a first date? Will the mercury maid approve?

[fionnuisce]

I think you'll do just fine, regardless of whether or not it approves. But I'm afraid I don't know what people normally do in these situations.

And you think I do?

[Diarmuid laughs, dropping an arm around Waver's shoulders.]

Though, I've been told having a good time and keeping each other out of trouble isn't a bad place to start.

That sounds like a good place to set the bar. Somewhat low expectations, but that's not too bad.

Low? Okay, if that is low, what do you think would be a better expectation?

[fionnuisce]

Ideally, you'd be thoroughly entertained one way or another and we'd both be quite pleased with this date by the end of it.

[Diarmuid taps the top of the flower in his pocket with his finger and then smiles at Waver.]

You came and remembered the flower. I would say I am quite pleased already.

A good one, but now I need to know what I should do to see to it you are both pleased and entertained. Got any suggestions?

None in particular, I'm afraid. I'm not all that difficult to please if one makes any sort of attempt.

[Diarmuid looks at him out of the corners of his eyes, a grin on his face.]

Do you really feel comfortable giving me such free reign on making sure you're pleased? I have been known to go overboard when it comes to doing things sometimes...
