Summary: Aleph and April are getting married. No, they don't care that they're doing it in a horrortower in a Jason month - this is still a celebration.
Warnings: Nothing is likely to come up.

[Two demons guarded the entrance of the crystal caverns: the signs that they were 'dressed up' were the handmade flower crowns that adorned their heads. Upon meeting a guest to the party, one would usher them inside, where a small collection of folding chairs was set out with the requisite aisle in between them.

Other than that, it seemed very simply set up. Aleph and April needed a little time to get ready, so until then, guests would have the opportunity to mingle.]

[Diarmuid starts slightly when the demon speaks to him. If he had not seen the demons at work long ago, he might have mistaken her for a fairy with her beautiful wings, but as it is he knows she is one of Aleph's partners.

He smiles at her, though the smile doesn't manage to hide the nervousness in his eyes.]

Weddings and I...have not often gotten along well. I worry about causing a problem here is all, but they are my friends and I didn't want to miss this important time for them.

I'm not sure how you could! If you started a fight we would beat you up and kick you out. Or, is this about the 'speak now or forever hold your peace line'? Because I'll tell you now that we're not actually including that in the ceremony. [Lilim giggles.] So you'd better interrupt now if you want to have a chance before they're married.

[Diarmuid's eyes widen and he shakes his head.]

Oh! It's nothing like that at all! I don't want to do anything to interrupt this. It is just...

[His hand moves up to touch a spot under his eye. Usually, there is a mole there. Now the area is covered with a scar.]

I have a curse and this place makes it act up randomly. I just worry it might do so during the ceremony is all.

[Lilim takes a close look at him. Being an experienced magic user and user of charm spells herself, she gets the idea.]

Oh, you don't have to worry. We've dealt with women in Aleph's life running off because of poor use of charm magic before. Though the last time it was his mother, but it's still good experience.

[Diarmuid raises an eyebrow at her words. He's not sure if he should be curious...or terrified.]

I am afraid to ask...but at the same time I find myself wanting to anyway.

Well, there was this one man who wanted to defeat Aleph. It's not important to this story why, only that he kept losing. So he got someone to throw a jar of Love Sap at him, and Hiroko, his mother, took the hit.

You should have seen the look on his face when Hiroko started chasing after him. It was a poor plan if he was so terrified!

[Diarmuid chuckles softly.]

Those kinds of plans never work. Something always goes wrong. You would think people would learn to stop playing with love, but they never do.

How did things end up?

To cure the love potion, we had to get a sample of it, so we had to chase down a fairy through a great deal of traps. But when we got it and came back, Hiroko had the man cornered - it was lucky for him we fixed it.

Indeed. I hope he learned his lesson after that.

[Diarmuid suddenly grins.]

If Hiroko didn't kill him afterward, that is...

He's actually the only one of Aleph's group aside from Aleph who survived up to the point where the worlds got destroyed. We made him give up.

[Implied: the people who didn't give up, they had to kill.]

[Diarmuid nods, but then gives her a confused look.]

It is an interesting and amusing story, but...why did you tell it to me? Did I really look that nervous?

You were definitely the most nervous.

[Diarmuid blushes slightly, embarrassed.]

I'm sorry. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me. I do feel better now and on top of that, I've gotten to hear an amusing story.

It's nothing! Today instead of beating up monsters, our job to our summoner is to make his wedding the best; whatever our duty is we will perform it gladly.

[Lilim also thinks that April and Aleph are adorable together, but she chooses not to voice this opinion now.]

Aleph is truly blessed to have all of you to help him. You are excellent fighters and even better friends.

Yes, Aleph has told me a few things about you guys, though I expect that is only the tip of the iceberg.

[Diarmuid bows respectfully to her.]

I have enjoyed the times I've gotten to watch you fight. I wish you many more chances to fight with him.

[Diarmuid gives her a smile.]

It has been too long since Aleph and I spent time together. Perhaps once he and April have finished their celebration, we can get together and see about killing some monsters to gather some real weapons for people to be using. Would you and your fellows be up to something like that?

[She nods.] That seems useful, for when the glamour goes out.

Yes, though what we gather will have to be hidden otherwise I expect it will all disappear during the times when we are stuck in time suspension.

If I don't get to mention it to Aleph today with everything going on, perhaps you could?

Absolutely! You can count on it.

[Diarmuid bows to her. As he rises, he notices movement closer to the front of the floor.]

It seems things might be about to start. I thank you again for taking the time to speak with me so that I calm down. Shall I let you get back to your duties?

Oh, it looks like I'd better... I had fun talking to you, though. I'll see you around!

[Lilim flits around the caverns, making sure everything is in place last-minute.]

The same. Be well until we can speak again!

[Diarmuid waves to her and smiles, before finding a good place to watch the wedding from. A much closer place than he had been lingering in before.]
