How can I die if I'm half-ghost already?
Characters: Dani and anyone who might run across her
Setting: Dormitory Floors/Rooms, Floor 36, Floor 11, Floor 1, and final catchall
Format: Whichever you pick
Summary: The Tower is +1 half-ghost girl who is poking her nose into everything
Warnings: Standard Tower of Animus disclaimer, plus the promise to edit should anything come up
[Various Dormitory Rooms]
[If you happen to be inside your rooms, and paying attention, you might notice a girl with snow-white hair and glowing green eyes poke her head into the room - through the door - look around, then duck out as quickly as she came in. Unless, that is, you happen to catch her in the act.
Whatever she's looking for, she doesn't seem to be finding it, and her expression grows more frustrated and puzzled as she goes on.]

[Floor 36]
[At last she decides to head downstairs and see what she can find out going that way. nly it's... slow going. Elevators are boring and somewhere halfway down the stairs, Dani gets tired of walking. A moment of inspiration later, she dives. Straight down. Through the stairs. Overall, this is a pretty effective maneuver. Floors are flashing past, with the occasional thing catching her attention, but by the time she sees it, it's already gone. Whatever. There'd be plenty of time to explore later.
Things are going well until she hits floor 36, at which point the telltale twin rings suddenly appear and spread up her body, leaving her depowered and unmistakably human. Letting out a yell of surprise, she falls, tumbling down the stairs and landing the floor itself with a bump. It takes her a moment before she sits up again, rubbing a particularly sore spot on her back.]
Okay, okay... bad idea...
=================
[Floor 11]
[She's stuck to human form this time as she explores ever lower. When she finally reaches the eleventh floor, she gets curious and a little exasperated. How big was this place anyway? Maybe she could get her bearings if she could see where the ground was - maybe she could even fly... a quick check to see if she can go ghost here nixes that idea, and she settles on just getting her bearings.
She walks closer and closer to the edge, eventually getting down on her hands and knees (given the lack of railing) and peeking over the edge of the Tower. There doesn't appear to be any ground in sight. It just vanishes off into the distance...]
Aw, man...
=================
[Floor 1]
[Now this was a floor she could get behind. After a long morning of exploring, she's starving, not to mention still a little tired out from her and Danny's big flight with Vlad.
The thing is though, after a long 100-floor trek down through the Tower, even if you phased through a good half of it, finding yourself with a bowl of oatmeal placed in front of you is just not satisfactory. Especially when you can see most everyone else in the room is getting something much better - like those corn dogs, for example.
She stares down at the bowl for a moment then gets up, sidling over to another table with an occupant, a hopeful look on her face]
I'll trade you?
[It's worth a shot, right?]

[Elsewhere]
[Once lunch is done, for better or worse, Dani returns to exploring. She can be found poking around all the different floors around the Tower - in both ghost and human form (though she'll try not to change between them if anybody's nearby). She seems to have remarkably little sense of caution, - she'll even walk into some of the more dangerous floors of the Tower, if someone doesn't stop her]

[Floor 1]
Doubt mine's better, kid.
[Lightning places hers down. Nope. Just another bowl of oatmeal.]
[Floor 1]
Ugh, you too?
[What made them so special anyway?]

[Though she has to admit, she is very much curious about that. Science wasn't exactly her specialty, but it doesn't take a scientist to wonder what kind of drugs they put in this. Whether that's a joke or not is up for debate.
What isn't up for debate is her wanting a drink after this.]
Floor 1
No way! That stuff's really gross!
no subject
C'mon... pleeeeease? It's really not that bad!
[She totally tried some!
No she didn't]no subject
It's awful! I had to have it on my first day.
[Then he tilts his head at the girl curiously.]
Is it your first day?
Floor 1
[He looks vaguely thoughtful for a moment. Since you are clearly new, if trying to trade for something more appetizing than the oatmeal is any indicator...] Tell you what. You manage to finish that, and I can get you something to get the taste out of your mouth.
[You know. Like proper food. ... just because it's a lie doesn't mean it isn't a delicious lie, after all.]
no subject
Thanks but... no thanks.
[She turns to leave]
no subject
As the new girl turns to leave, he rather idly keeps talking.] I know it's not the best stuff in the world, but anything else will make you sick until that stuff's finished.
[And throwing up isn't fun. At all.]
Floor 1 crew
Sure, but remember, no trade backs.
[cafeteria]
[Chidori leans her head on her hand and raises her eyebrows slightly, Hecate murmuring in the back of her mind.]
You'll be sick if you don't eat that first.
[She pauses a moment and then leans forward and adds-]
But if you like, I can sneak back into the kitchen and grab you come chocolate chips for it.
[Looks like Dani might have picked the right person to ask.]
[cafeteria]
[Well, Chidori is the first person to actually explain right off the bat the reason for the oatmeal in the first place. Dani sags frustratedly; it certainly explained why everyone kept refusing to trade with her. Well, that and probably nobody wanting to eat this stuff. Not that she could blame them.
Until Chidori offers to help, at which point Dani perks up again.]
Wait, really? That'd be great!
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER - "Elsewhere" (Floor 25)
[It seemed reasonable, then--as this was how he solved most of his problems--to find somewhere quiet and take a nap. That and the promise of clear, warm weather once again was what brought Rick to the meadow, and would probably explain why he was lying down on an old bed sheet in the middle of it. He'd been here for some time now and was more or less done sleeping, but it was still nice to calm down and relax for once, space out...]
[Out of the corner of his eye, he sees a curious face poke in from the stairs. Another child...far too many of them, by Rick's count. He sat up over the waving grass and, after a moment's hesitation, waved her over.]
...Hello? [Then, trying to project a bit more: ] A-Are you l-lost?
no subject
She walks a little bit closer to the guy, mainly so they're not shouting at each other across the floor]
Uh... not really. I think. I'm mostly just exploring, for now.
[She looks around the floor. After what she's seen so far, it's relative harmlessness is almost suspicious.] What is this place, anyway?
no subject
Oh, ah...the m-meadow. [He gives a small shrug.] S-Sorry, not...I d-don't know if th--there's a-anything more to it. So l-long as the w-weather's nice...
[blink blink]
...So y-you're new, then?

Oookay. This place is getting weirder by the minute.
no subject
Really..? I don't think it's anything that strange. [ The look on her face is incredibly blank and so is her tone, like it's hard to even say what kind of emotion is in it. ]
