1st Pulse~ The Arrival.

Setting: Room 1-01, and in the hallway.
Format: Action Brackets.
Summary: Fang awakens in her room for the first time, and realizes she is not where she should be.
Warnings: Some language.


[The funny thing about dreams is that they feel like the last forever. Sometimes, you can never tell which is the dream, and which is reality, and the longer the dream goes, the more you feel like your waking world is a lie. Crystal sleep always felt like that to Fang. Waking up to find that she's not longer in a crystal, however, didn't exactly feel like reality either.

The headache is horrible, and the grogginess isn't a theme park either, and so with a sore body and mind, Oerba Yun Fang sits up to find her vision blurry. She takes a few deep breaths, trying to steady herself as she stands, her vision starting to swim back into focus as she takes in the room. Once she takes in the details of her surroundings, her eyes stop on a piece of paper on the bed she woke up next to, and at her feet, a trunk.

Weighing her options, she vouches to open the trunk first, finding familiar things such as her lance, sari, her satchel, hunting knife, and her jewelry. Looking down, she finds that she's naked. This isn't quite the concern to her though. What was, was the fact that she was in an unknown room, and it doesn't look like she's the only one who's been here.]

Looks like one hell of a bachelor pad.

[She whistles low before taking notice of the white outfit on the bed beside the paper. She grimaces at the thing before taking out her clothes, putting them back on in kind, sighing as she started to feel like herself again. She then feels around her neck, tugging some at the collar that sat there. This was worse than a l'Cie brand. At least with brands, you could hide them. Yet another claim from an unknown source, and everyone could see it this time. She would have to find a way to get this thing off, but there are more important things right now. Like that note. Picking it up, she begins to read.]

Your world has been destroyed. I saved you. Let's all be happy here.

[She scoffs, rolling her eyes before crumpling the paper. Looking around once more, she rubs the back of her neck, then sighs in frustration.]

Cute little game. Now where's the exit?

[It's been 1000 years since she's been awake; she needs to know what's going on. Then she realizes that she's been missing one valuable thing she never went without. Where was that cheery little lilt in the background? The pigtails? Her eyes widen as she turns around quickly.]

VANILLE?!

[The girl is no where in sight, and this begins to make the panic rise. She turns a few more times, trying to find a door, a window, anything. She then sees her designated object, making a quick run for it as she flings it open and finds herself in a hallway. She doesn't even care if her voice echos.]

VANILLE?! Come on, Van, talk to me. VANILLE!

[It was almost as if she wanted to get dizzy by all the turns she takes, her hair whipping into her face as she searches.]

Shit... [It was then that she notices a computer like terminal in the hall. Furrowing her brows, she makes the steps it takes to get there and hunches over it, grumbling about technology and how it's ridiculous, but she figures this thing has information. Don't all computers?]

Come on Lady Luck. Give me something I can work with.

[And this, is where you will find Oerba Yun Fang.]

[Fang opens her mouth to speak before closing it, looking at the terminal, then to the girl, her hands gesturing at the machine as she looks between the two.]

I um...d- did you need to use this?

[chainsawn]

Hmm. But I can wait.

[ She folds her hands behind her like she's perfectly content with waiting here for longer than she already has. Apparently this young girl has all time in the world.. ]

You seemed pretty busy with it, after all.

[She gestures around her, her eyes growing worried.]

I just want to know where I am, and why I'm here. I need information. I just...uh...got here.

[chainsawn]

.. You don't know what this is? Not even that it's the tower?

[ That's.. sort of the point of being new, Urotsuki.. but she's never really helped new people much, so it's a new concept to her. ]

[raindownthesky]

Y-yeah... [Very articulate, Fang. Well done. Tough crowd.]

[chainsawn]

[ Urotsuki takes the final step that covers the distance between the two of them that's left.

Then she reaches up - she's not that tall, after all - until she can reach Fang's face.

Then she pinches the woman's cheek. ]

[The entire time that the girl is moving towards her, Fang is backing up against the wall. She isn't so much defensive, (because this is a girl, mind.) but she's more confused than anything. When her cheek is pinched, she just stares, mouth half open and wide, astonished eyes.]

[chainsawn]

[ Apparently it's really, really normal to the girl, since she just watches with a blank expression before she slowly lets go, pulling her hand back to herself. ]

You're still here. So that means you're not dreaming.

H-how can you call that after pinching someone else?!

[chainsawn]

Well, if you'd be dreaming, you would wake up if you were pinched. And then you would disappear, since you'd be back in the real world instead of wandering in a dream.

But.. you didn't disappear.

[ Completely logical, right. ]

[raindownthesky]

That....makes no sense.

[chainsawn]

Are you saying you've never pinched yourself awake in a dream? A lot of people do that.

[ Or rather, she does it all the time, so she assumes other people do too.. ]

[raindownthesky]

Usually you pinch yourself, though. Right?

[That had to be right.]

...R-right?

[chainsawn]

.. Well, of course. But I thought the pinching part was what's important, so even if someone else pinches you, it should still be fine.. right? [ Thinking about it though, she's never tried it with another person before now, huh. ]

[raindownthesky]

That honestly makes no sense.

[chainsawn]

[ ...

Her gaze drops a little bit. It's still blank for the most part, but there's almost something disappointed in it. ]

Do you think I'm weird too..?

[raindownthesky]

[Oh Etro, here she goes making girls cry. She sighs a bit, moving closer to put a comforting hand on the girl's shoulder.]

Hey now. You're not weird. Trust me. I've definitely put up with weirder.

[chainsawn]

I'm not weird after all..? I was just trying to help you by seeing if you were sleeping or not..

[ As if it wouldn't be obvious either way. But Urotsuki's a little.. special. ]

[raindownthesky]

[And suddenly her protective streak was coming out. She bends to come face to face, smiling warmly as she pats her head, ruffling her hair some.]

Hey now, don't you fret. You helped me just fine.

[chainsawn]

.. I did?

[ Like she didn't even realise it herself yet - or maybe she's just insecure about it? Either way, she almost - almost - seems a little surprised. ]

You're new, so.. it's nice to help new people. That's what I thought..
