Summary: One new member, somewhat confused at what's going on here.
Warnings: Probably none, he's pretty tame.

The first thing Hachiken noticed was that he was lying in a bed again. He'd been in the process of walking back to school, that he was pretty sure of, and yet, here he was lying in bed. Had he fainted again? That was possible, but he should be all better now.

The letters caught his attention and he froze, reading them. His world had been destroyed? That couldn't possibly be true. As he thought about it, he looked around, and it didn't look so much like a hospital then a dorm room not unlike the one at school in a way. The entire world? How? What about Mikage and Komaba? The thought of his best friends dying somehow brings tears to his eyes. He pushed his arm up under his glasses to wipe away any stray tears.

No, what he needed was answers. This couldn't be right and in fact, he really shouldn't be crying until he knew for sure. Carefully, with hesitant footsteps, he opens the door and peers out into the hall for a moment before stepping out and looking around. It was definitely like a dormitory of some kind, but where was he?

[She notices him rubbing his temples. It reminds her of herself when she just arrived here.]

L-look, try not t-to w-worry about it too much. We're all safe f-for the time being. Y-you don't have t-to worry.

[She's telling him not to worry, but Hachiken isn't sure he can do that. He worries at his bottom lip, chewing on it hesitantly.]

Okay. Maybe...maybe you can tell me a little about this place?

I...

[She stops and sighs. Yeah, take things slow. Don't want him all confused. Now... where to start?]

W-well first, you're in t-the tower of Animus. It's this m-massive tower in... somewhere, a-and it's r-run by these g-guys called Admins. T-they're keeping us here, and they're k-kind of jerks.

[unlikelyfarmhand]

Why? Oh...I asked that already. Okay. A tower somewhere.

[He's frowning, but he's cataloging the information carefully all the same.]

Y-yeah, somewhere. Anyways, there's lots of people h-here from m-many d-different places. And... s-some of them can do lots of weird stuff, like use... magic. L-like real magic.

[unlikelyfarmhand]

[Forgive Hachiken, but this he looks skeptical about.]

Magic. Like parlor tricks?

N-no, magic like shooting fire out of your hands. O-or flying around, or t-turning yourself into an a-animal.

Like I said, a l-lot of people h-here are very different than what you've probably seen.

[And that goes for herself as well.]

But that's not possible! I can't...people can't do those things where I'm from! I mean. They're just not possible.

Yeah, t-that's the other t-thing.

W-we're kind of... from d-different worlds.

[Hachiken scratches his head.]

Like from Sapporo and Hokkaido? Sapporo wouldn't be that far...or different countries like say, Russia and Japan...?

[stitchedupbodyguard]

[So he was Japanese too then. Hearing about those places made Veronica frown.]

No.

I-I mean, different worlds. As i-in, different earths.

As f-far as I know... y-you and m-me are from different earths. Almost everyone here is.

Oh. I see.

[Hachiken frowns, because he's not entirely sure he can believe this. It sounds like something out of a science fiction novel.]

I don't...it doesn't make any sense!

I know, right?!

[Veronica throws up her hands, suddenly quite mad at the whole thing.]

I've b-been here f-for three months, and I s-still d-don't know what the hells g-going on!

[unlikelyfarmhand]

[Her outburst actually makes him look relieved.]

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused, to be honest with you.

[stitchedupbodyguard]

I-I just...

[She huffs and puffs for a moment, before her anger wanes and is replaces with embarrassment.]

Uh... s-sorry. Y-you j-just have to blow off s-some steam every once in a while.

It's okay! I can understand that. It must be frustrating to to know all that much after three months. I hope that you won't be here much longer.

Unless not being here means what I think it means...

[Shaking her head, Veronica quickly put on the smile she had been practicing for a while.]

Anyways, I-I'm Veronica. Veronica Madaraki.

Veronica? [Hachiken asks, it's a bit of an unusual name.]

I'm Hachiken Yugo. [He bows a bit.] Nice to meet you.

Hachiken.

[She smiles and bows in return.]

That's a nice name. So you're from Japan too?

[unlikelyfarmhand]

Yes, I am. Originally I was from Sapporo, but currently I go to a boarding school in rural Hokkaido.

Sapporo, nice place. I'm from the Hokkaido region too, though close to Kushiro instead. We have a mansion in one of the forests; kind of isolated.

I suppose. I don't mind Sapporo, but I had to get away from there. I didn't really want to live with my parents, so I went to a boarding school. It's an Agricultural school, actually.

So you're a farmer then?

[Did they need farmers here? She wondered that for a moment.]

[unlikelyfarmhand]

Well, in a way. [Hachiken laughs a little, nervously.]

I did learn how to take care of livestock and all sorts of farming things, but I don't have a farm or anything. Our school is very hands on and we have a lot of farm animals.

[stitchedupbodyguard]

Well, sorry to say, but I don't think there's many farm animals here.

Though, maybe some of the more docile monsters could be domesticated.
