Characters: Anyone who's part of a science team!
Setting: Whichever floor your team is working on.
Format: Prose or action, whichever you prefer.

Summary: It's been two months and a half since the researches have started and they should come to an end by next month. At this point the scientists should be realizing they're getting somewhere, they just need more time to figure everything out. Because it'll end soon, this log is so every team can mingle and play out scenes of the research effort-- If that's not already been done!

The teams can all be found here. The list is not up to date, but it's a general idea of what the teams look like. Just, feel free to reply to the thread of the team you belong to! The threads may be backdatted, given the ongoing Sephiroth plot may make some character unavailable. As the team have to move a lot, there is no set floor so pick whichever one you want. If you'd like to participate, you can sign-up here!

Warnings: Absolutely nothing! Well, unless you decide to play out a monster attacking your team. Or if you are part of the Violet and Orange teams, maybe.

It is a bit rude to insinuate something like that so early.

[Fortunately, Fado popped up behind Lancer (it was more likely he just entered the floor and joined the ground from behind him, but the Kokiri was so small and so quiet you could mistake him for suddenly appearing out of thin air sometimes), holding a stack of papers to his chest. His words were pretty calm and rational, but the perpetually mischievous grin on his face seemed to exactly contradict what he just said.]

I believe we should start with more prudent introductions.

[...Introductions with the scary woman carrying a whip?]

[OH LOOK AT THE TIME, sorry friends, Rick really must be going, important things to deal with so]

[please excuse him while he sneaks quietly around the back...]

[Diarmuid notices how panicked Rick looks and steps forward to cover the man's retreat. He hadn't planned on saying much at the meeting since he had a lot on his mind after the fight with Sephiroth, but he can at least be polite enough to give an introduction and give poor Rick some time to pull himself together.]

My name is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. I am a mover and bodyguard for the team. In addition, I am bound to Waver. If you are ever in trouble and he's with you, don't be surprised if I literally appear out of nowhere.

[And that's all. No explanation about sky blue iridescent cloak around his shoulders--it was his father's--and, perhaps more importantly, no explanation about the floppy, dark-brown puppy ears on his head.

Those who don't already know the reason they are there get to figure that out for themselves...]

That would be me, for the record. [Probably good to get that out of the way now, especially when it came to drawing attention off of Rick.]

As far as less idiotic introductions go, my name's Waver Velvet--yes it's my real name, and no don't think you'd be the first to ask about it. I'm an alchemist and a teacher primarily, which is really all of relevance about me in this particular concept.

[Between insinuating she was in a relationship with Edgeworth and borderline flirting with her, Cu's already made it to the top of Franziska's "whip list." She's particularly on edge today, so she's not holding back.]

It's rude to make assumptions on people's relationships with others.

[She turns to the rest of the team.]

I am Franziska von Karma, prosecuting prodigy. I have no formal scientific background, but I do have some knowledge of forensics.

[You fools better not slow her down.]

[Cu Chulainn more or less howls as he gets whipped in the shoulder.]

Ow! I get it!

[He rubs at his sore shoulder.]

Glad to help you with us. I'm Cu Chulainn. And I'm a bodyguard just like my brother.

[He points to Diarmuid.]

I ain't bound to anyone, though.

[Well, maybe Asagi. But that part is sort of complicated.]

[Well, Edgeworth could have introduced himself to the rest of the team (or rather just Fado) or told Franziska to go easy on Rick. However, Diarmuid's appearance instantly made him forget this.]

...Wh-what in the world happened to you?!

Happened?

[A slightly mischievous look brightens, Diarmuid's face. Now that he is over most of the embarrassment of having the ears and tail, he's realizing that it's actually been a pretty good thing. It seems like every time he starts getting too upset or thinking too hard about what happened during the fight with Sephiroth, someone overreacts to seeing the changes for the first time and makes him smile. In fact, he's really only wearing his father's cloak now because he is a little emotionally unsteady and its a comfort to have that weight on his shoulders. It's no longer about hiding his ears and tail at all.]

Has something happened?

E-excuse me?! [Why does the guy not seem the least bit phased by his sudden appearance? Unless it was a costume. A very clever costume, mind you.]

What're you on about?

[Catching on quickly, Waver commented in his usual unfazed tone.]

Nothing's happened. What, are you seeing things now?

[It takes a bit longer than Waver for Lancer to catch on, but he joins in with a grin when he does.]

Yeah, come on, everything's just fine. Nothing happened at all.

Are you feeling all right, Edgeworth?

[Diarmuid's puppy ears twitch happily and their motion causes his eyes to widen in surprise. He brings a hand up and pulls on one ear.]

Oh, you mean these? Wait..they are brown now instead of black! Waver, I thought you said the spell was stable. I can't very well give my son a puppy for his birthday if the spell isn't stable...

[Lancer tsks his tongue and gives Waver a look.]

Come on, Waver, you said you improved. The spell isn't gonna go weird and turn him into something other than a puppy now, is it?

[Wow what a bunch of fools.]

Brother, is there a problem?

[While certain team member's fashion choices and this talk of "puppies" made the participants look rather foolish, it was certainly nothing worse than the fools she'd seen in court. They had more important things to take care of, anyway.]

[Th-this is a joke, isn't it?

....Isn't it?

....Nah, it has to be. What kind of moron would willingly turn into a puppy to be a pet for his kid/pseudo-kid? ]

...Ngh....very funny. I suppose I can give you credit for the costume. [Because that's what it is, right?]

Edgeworth, this is no costume. Haven't you been listening? Look...

[Diarmuid turns around and pulls his cloak off to the side to reveal his tail. A tail, he promptly starts wagging.]

See? No costume. Real ears and tail. I'm a Puppy Class Lancer Servant right now.

[Lancer grins and leans on his brother.]

We're both puppy classes. He just doesn't have the natural hound good looks, so he needed a spell.

[sorry, he's too busy struggling not to crack a smile or laugh to actually talk]

[No words but this face guys. Just this face.]

[The perpetual smile on Fado's face had become a bit more mischievous as he listened to the conversation, with both of his hands touching his chin just below his grin.]

Oh-- I suppose it would be rude not to say, but my name is Fado, the Wind Sage. But I must admit, I'm a bit more concerned if our Mr. Edgeworth has been touched in the mind and is losing grip of reality....!

You do seem quite delusional, brother.

[Franziska can't pick up on anything out of the ordinary here aside from their being in the tower itself.]

I-I assure you both that I am perfectly sane, thank you! [Gee do these people exist JUST to humiliate him?

This has to be a joke.....right?]

You sure? If you're running a fever or anything, I can always take you to the infirmary.
