Happy Birthday Xion!

Characters: Elena, Turk Family, Team Ragnarock and anybody who is friends with the birthday girl
Setting: Floor 62 , November 18, afternoon - evening
Format: Open, anything goes
Summary: It's Xion’s birthday – at least the one selected. So, being proper parents, Reno and Elena are throwing their bitty girl a birthday party on the beach that will bleed into a solstice bonfire later into the evening.

The bird perched on the sand nearby 'speaks' up, his voice simply being heard in the heads of those gathered.

<I'm Tobias. And yes, I'm a bird. I can help with the food. I've got a bunch of tools at my disposal for it, so if you need help with hunting let me know.>

[Although Amelia's general attitude has been friendly and outgoing, this strikes her as a somewhat more serious meeting and she's been standing at full attention, hands folded behind her back and listening attentively, a bit of that old military discipline sneaking back into how she was carrying herself. In a way it was making her slightly nostalgic, and her eyes scanned the rest of the group slowly, making a mental note of who all else was present.

She didn't recognize everyone, but the faces she did she knew as generally competent folks, having even fought alongside a few of them in the past. (And against on one or two occasions. Thank Jason for that.) Reno apparently had an eye for talent.

Her eyes widen slightly though when somebody suddenly starts talking in her head, glancing around for a short moment before actually spotting the bird. The bird that's wearing a collar and talking in their heads. So apparently not only did Reno have an eye for talent, but he'd also recruited a talking, sentient bird with mind powers. That she was now officially allied with.

She manages to regain her composure a few seconds later, but it's impossible not to wonder what the hell General Duessel would say about the direction her military career has taken by now. Clearing her throat, she figures this is as good a time to speak up as any.]

For those of you I haven't met before, my name is Amelia. I was a full fledged knight back home, and I can assist with anything from hunting to bodyguard duty. If you ever need extra protection for some reason, don't hesitate to ask me! I may not have any powers, but I can promise you I'm far from helpless. I can also help teach others how to properly handle a sword, should that ever be requested.

[Meanwhile, aside from her eyes widening a little in shock, Xion takes Tobias in stride. She's seen walking, talking furniture before. The mind-speech is a little new, but other than that he's not the strangest she's seen by far.

She steps forward though - probably should have done so sooner - to speak.]

My name is Xion. I know a lot of you already, but for all I haven't, it's nice to meet you.

[She lifts her head a little higher] As Reno said, I'm the one who's helping take care of getting clothes to people in the winter. If you want to help out with that, please talk to me. Even if you can't sew, I need help getting thing like leather and fur, which will work better for warmer clothes than the fabric the Tower gives us.

Either way, let's all work together.

[She steps back again, letting the next person who wishes to speak]

[Mind talking birds were a little strange, but Shion had also seen stranger so just smiled. As Xion spoke he realised that he actually hadn't introduced himself.] Oh... yes I'm Shion, it's nice to meet you all...
