Characters: Elena, Turk Family, Team Ragnarock and anybody who is friends with the birthday girl
Setting: Floor 62 , November 18, afternoon - evening
Format: Open, anything goes
Summary: It's Xion’s birthday – at least the one selected. So, being proper parents, Reno and Elena are throwing their bitty girl a birthday party on the beach that will bleed into a solstice bonfire later into the evening.
Warnings: None for now

[The look on Diarmuid's face makes Reno want to burst out laughing. Like the kind that makes you hold your stomach and roll around the ground. The corners of his mouth twitches only slightly in response.

Lowering his gaze just enough to look coy, and letting his lips fall open seductively, he steps forward, reaching out to grab the front of the man's shirt.]

Oh, come on, don't tell me ya didn't feel a spark... after all that time in the bar, playin' pool. Don't think I don't remember; you tried to do a nice thing for me when I didn't have anybody else to talk to...

[Seriously, this is too easy.

Drawing close, he smiles, biting his lower lips and blushing slightly from trying to hold in all that laughter.]

You big, bad, puppy dog...

[Leaning in close enough to feel the heat between them, Reno drops the pretense and aims his palm to smack the guy upside the head.]

Consider us even, ya idiot.

[Aaaaand now he's laughing.]

[Are you worried about an angry Turk!Wife wanting to kill you, Dia? Because you've got one standing right behind you. Don't ask how she got there without making so much of a sound. She's a Turk and they're all sorts super secret ninjas with the ability to come and go with the shadows.

But there she is. Standing behind Diarmuid, with arms crossed over her chest with an expression that may look calm and collected, but anybody who knows how to look deeper would see something a touch more sinister.]

So when I asked if you were busy playing with Reno, I didn't expect that you two were up to this...

[That tone. It promises so much pain because what the hell have you been doing with her husband, Dia?]

Just how long did you expect this to continue before I found out?

[And three...two...one. Not only did Reno drop his act, but Elena did as well. The unspoken Turk!sense working to their advantage. That or maybe both just wanted to troll Dia. Putting a hand on the man's shoulder, she was laughing as well, not quite sure what she walked in on but enjoying the moment.]

I have to apologize for him, Dia. He has a weird sense of humor.

[Diarmuid is a trained warrior who has faced down armies, monsters, and giants. As a result, there are few things that truly make him afraid...

Right now, caught between Reno and Elena, not only is he afraid, he is terrified. This fear shows clearly not only on his face, but in the way he seems to curl in on himself in an attempt to distance himself from Reno while at the same time not back into the angry Elena. Thousands of things run though his mind as he tries to sort out some way to explain things that won't get him killed.

Though when Elena mentions the 'playing with Reno' comment his brain screeches to a halt, derails, and goes flailing over a cliff leaving only one thought in his mind. A thought, that he sadly doesn't seem to be able to stop from slipping out of his mouth.]

I would never hurt my Partner like that!

[Well, at least he didn't actually say Waver's name, though from the way he blushes when he realizes what he said, it almost makes it seem like this is worse somehow. Then Elena and Reno both drop the act...

...and Diarmuid manages to turn even redder. He gives them both a dirty look, before finally gathering himself enough to speak.]

You two are far too perfect for each other...

That's good to know. Y'know, you shouldn't tell people 'bout that random curse thing, they might prank you with it.

[Diarmuid gets a friendly jab in the shoulder; no hard feelings? The guy looks like he could use a drink or two, though.

But don't think Reno didn't notice that line about his partner... there is juicy gossip there, and some parts of him just wouldn't get stomped down no matter how hard the Tower tried.

Still laughing, Reno walks over to Elena and tries to sling an arm around her shoulders.]

What do ya think, El? Should we keep him?

Easy, there. I'm only kidding.

[And the little squeeze of her hand on his shoulder emphasizes her point, all friendly and comforting and maybe a touch apologetic. Being around Reno was like being around a bad influence. Either you rose above it or you picked up so bad habits. This was one of those bad habits she picked up.

Releasing his shoulder, she takes a few steps back, looking over at Reno as he slips an arm around her shoulders. A finger lifts, pressing against her lips in thought.]

.....Hmmm. Let me think... .[And a few seconds later[ I guess anybody who is wiling to risk ears and a tail with you is worth keeping.

[Diarmuid rolls annoyed eyes at Reno.]

Do you really think you are the first to prank me about it? I...am just not used to men reacting that way. It never cursed anyone male before I came here!

[Though, Oscar had acted like it had a few times. Honestly, that man...

Once Elena lets her hand slip from his shoulder, Diarmuid turns to face her, bowing slightly.]

You do me a great honor. I suppose it only makes sense for you to test me as well. Reno did the same. I believe I was lucky he didn't kill me and stuff me in the oven that day for messing with his 'kids.'

Nah, but I thought it'd give ya a scare.

[Reno's smirk is so... satisfied. Sorry Diarmuid.]

I got to admit, I'd thought about it, then I saw those- oh yeah, I was supposed to keep that secret, wasn't I?
