[MEETING] We've no idea what the end picture will look like

Setting: 4th Floor lounge
Format: Anything and everything
Summary: A meeting to put together the pieces all of the characters got during 1369
Warnings: Mention and discussion some of the contents of the visions from 1369, which include disturbing and even gruesome content.

[The problem with having an impatient twelve year-old set up a meeting is that there isn't nearly as much in the way of amenities. Unless someone is able to make or bring any snacks, there's nothing of the sort available, nor any sort of decoration or notice hanging anywhere. All that can be found is the aforementioned twelve year-old standing near the stairs with her arms crossed.

She'll quite cheerfully tell anybody who wanders onto the floor (whether on purpose or accident) what's going on. Even those who missed her network post will be able to find out easily what's happening on this particular floor today.

And after that... well, then the discussion can begin.]

He was in luck, as Reno was indeed there and sitting on one of the chairs, listening to others talk. Turning his head this way and that, he filtered many conversations with practiced ease, paying attention to interesting ones and dismissing others out of hand.

He didn't seem to be aware of Shion just yet.

Shion stepped towards him, though he felt nervous. Which was stupid. Just... lots could change in a week. "Reno..." His voice was quiet.

Turning around, Reno looked up at him, then jumped to his feet and tackled him in a hard to follow flash.

"Shion!" He was so, so glad Shion was back... he might have hugged the kid a little too hard.

Well that threw one of his fears out of the window. He squeaked slightly as he was crushed and blinked away the tears of relief.

"I missed you."

[midgarhorizon]

"Dammit, kid, don't scare me like that! I was gettin' worried your name would disappear." Reno's got a tight reign on his emotions today, so his voice isn't choking up for once, but he did give Shion a slap on the back and a hair ruffle.

"I'm sorry." He clung for a moment and smiled at the hair ruffle, before sitting down beside him. "What did I miss?"

"The carnival. That's why we're all down here today... listening in for the visions people saw." Reno flopped back in his seat and pointed to some papers he had on the coffee table in front of them. "It was fine for the first couple days, then... don't know, suddenly it just kinda went bad, like it'd been abandoned. I've been havin' to dip into the food stores because it'd replaced the cafeteria. Then people suddenly started having visions of these kids."

"Carnival?" He blinks, and then picks up the paper, hoping he can guess the word from context. He read through a few of the notes, "More shadows? Were there more explosions then? Another psychoradiation leak?"

[midgarhorizon]

"I was in the Upper Tower when it happened, but yeah, I heard there were explosions down here and that's when it went to shit... but this isn't like what happened last time." It's sort of hard to explain, now that he thinks about it. Unless you had been there... "Just wait, we'll get started soon."

Shion frowned, not liking to have to wait. But he wrestled with his curiosity and tried his best to be patient. He picked up the notes and began reading through them. "Are Xion and Elena alright?"

[midgarhorizon]

Reno opened his mouth before Shion's words fully sunk in, but stopped himself just in time. Mood deflating, he sighed. "Xion's fine." No mention of Elena... she had disappeared and couldn't be found anywhere.

The relief he felt at the answer melted away to worry and suspicion. "And Elena? What happened to Elena?"

[midgarhorizon]

"She's gone for a few days..." Thought it's been more like a week now. Reno didn't feel up to keeping it quiet when Shion was being direct.

Shion blinked and then wrapped his hands around Reno. "I'm sorry. I hope she comes back soon." They couldn't send her away so soon, not when they had just got her back.

[midgarhorizon]

"Don't worry, if they were gonna send her off again, the name wouldn't be there. Long as it stays, she'll come back." Reno sounds far more confident than he looks, though, and he sort of leaned into Shion's hug. What? They were family now.

Shion let him lean, holding him tighter "She will be back soon. I'm sure of it."

[midgarhorizon]

"Yeah. Meanwhile, we got some work to do. She'll kick both our asses if we don't get as much info as we can down." Sitting up, he gave Shion a mischievous wink and handed him some papers.

Shion grinned and then nodded, "That's true." He looked genuinely worried. He might have been formally adopted but he had never quite been able to shake his initial wariness of Elena.

He took the papers. "I'll do my best."
