The most heroic bronie
Characters: Lancer and you!
Setting: Dormitories on January 1, and then throughout the Tower
Format: Open, anything goes!
Summary: Lancer enjoys his regain
Warnings: None right now.
A. Room 4-16, January 1
[The strange noises from floor 101 had drawn Lancer's attention, so he had gone to investigate. To his surprise, he had found a teleporter and a secret floor and Aria's strange machine. Knowing that it was a matter replicator, he had jokingly requested one of his horses.]
[Of course, it was only a joke to him. As he heads back to his room, he doesn't actually expect to hear horse whinnies actually echoing through the halls of the dormitories. As he rushes over to his room, he hears the whinnying increasing in volume, followed by dog barks and the sound of gnashing teeth. In addition, his nose picks up on the distinct scent of both Mac an Chuill and a horse.]
[He more or less kicks the door down the second he arrives at room 4-16. As soon as he pokes his head into the room, he can see Mac an Chuill and a big grey Irish draught horse trying their best to bite, stomp, or claw each other. It seems to be a stalemate, with neither of them successfully wounding the other yet.]
Hey!
[He calls to the horse, followed by a sharp whistle and a wave. Both of the animals pause at the familiar voice, and the horse, forgetting Mac an Chuill's presence completely, rushes over to his master.]
She did it! She really did it!
[Cu Chulainn's voice as he pets his horse is half part delight, and half part surprise. He hadn't expected that Aria would actually be able to give him his horse back, but there she is. Liath Macha, in the flesh.]
I missed you, big guy!
[Standing on his tiptoes, he gives the horse a big hug. He can feel that even with her master present, Liath Macha is still tense about the unfamiliar space and the unwelcome addition to her territory. In addition to her tensed muscles, she's stamping one of her front feet on the ground and letting out irritated snorts.]
...Let's get away from her for a bit, okay?
[Cu Chulainn knows his horse. He knows how wild and spirited and aggressive she is. And he knows the best thing to do is to take her out and work off her energy, then bring her back when she's tired and calm. He pats her on the head and, grabbing her mane, springs on her back in a move that both master and ride are familiar with.]
B. Throughout the Tower, any day
[The look on Cu Chulainn's face as he rides his horse down the stairs and onto floors is one of pure, childish excitement. The giant of a horse stampedes through floors, hopping over or kicking down obstacles. Every so often, it pauses to much on things that attract its interest or its ire. If its owner notices its behavior, then he doesn't care, since he never makes any effort to stop it.]
[Whenever they encounter anyone during their stops, Lancer always calls to them to join him.]
Hey, you wanna get on? It's fun!

Re: B, floor 62

[Well, okay, his Ryu Dragon's still pretty big, but with stubby legs, he certainly lacks the elegance of a noble steed.]
no subject
[Despite being a hero from the times of legend, Lancer had never seen an actual dragon before.]
no subject
[He hasn't done this many times, but Riku shuts his eyes and focuses...
And then, in a flash of sparkles, his Ryu Dragon appears and... promptly charges at Riku, warbling at the top of his lungs.
And suddenly Riku's lying on the ground, getting a face full of dragon nuzzles. Totally not humiliating at all.]
no subject
Whoa there! He's like my brother's dog!
[He falls off of Liath Macha.]
You want some help getting him off?
no subject
[Before he even finishes, the dragon squeaks, lifts his head up annnd...
Sprints right over to Lancer to get a good sniff. At least he didn't tackle him.]
...Or not. Looks like you've already distracted him.
no subject
No, hey, bad girl!
[He pulls at her mane again to keep her head away from the dragon.]
no subject
[He grabs his Ryu Dragon by the tail, careful not to touch the barbs.]
You're scaring her. Can't you tone it down a little bit?
[Seems Riku's words have paid off a little bit, as he scuttles backwards, lowers his head, and moans softly. Sorry, giant horse!]
no subject
Sorry about that. You don't have to scold him. All this girl's fault for being too aggressive.
[He steps closer to Riku, giving Liath Macha a glare to warn her not to jump and bite.]
Here, let's redo the introductions.
[He holds his hand out at the dragon.]
no subject
[Riku lets go of his dragon's tale, and he tentatively steps closer, giving another sniff. When he realizes he's not gonna get attacked, he sits down on his haunches and squeaks. Hello, Mr. Not-a-scary-horse!]
Anyway, this is... Flare, I guess. The name's kind of a work in progress, but after a year, I've gotta call him something.

[He shrugs, snickering at his dragon's enthusiasm.]
So, does your horse have a name?
no subject
[Its name sounds a little ominous.]
Yeah, Liath of Macha. Since she's all grey all over.
[He really does suck at pet names.]
no subject
[At least Liath's name sounds somewhat poetic. Flare might be a vaguely cool name, but it's also simple by comparison.
As for Lancer's question, Riku gestures towards his dragon.]
Pretty sure this guy's a Dream Eater. Don't know much about them besides what they do, and in Flare's case, that's taking nightmares and scarfing them down. How he does it is beyond me.
no subject
[He's had fewer nightmares lately, but the ones he does get can still jolt him out of bed.]
He comes in handy in a place like this.
no subject
[As he says this, he pats the little goofball on the head, causing him sparkle and glow. Yes, this is normal Dream Eater behavior.]
no subject
...Well, without glowing, that is.
no subject
[His eyes drift back towards Lancer's horse.]
At least your horse acts like a horse. I can't imagine getting pounced on by something that huge.
no subject
I can't either. Would probably hurt. Guess I'm lucky all she does is bite and kick at strange things.
no subject
[Especially with his goofy Dream Eater romping around. That's probably not the best way to make a first impression.]
no subject
[He pats Liath Macha's mane again.]
no subject
[He looks to his dragon, who squeaks and plops down next to the stairs. Looks like it'll be a-okay.]
no subject
[He puts a hand on Liath Macha's back, keeping her still.]
no subject
[So, he'll go ahead and approach her, taking slow, careful steps so not to startle her.]
no subject
Come on.
[He holds a hand out to Riku.]
I'll help you on.
