Summary: It's time to regroup, establish new ties, and form a plan

It may have been word of mouth. It could have been one of the many notes Reno left on doors or on beds (and in some cases, foreheads) of those he knew to be members or trusted. Or it could have been just as simple as a friend grabbing another for a 'walk.' The notes read, "Meeting. Morning, Jan 20th." There is no location, or any hint of any; Reno suspects most people will get the idea to go there, simply because it wasn't mentioned. It isn't supposed to exist, after all.

Yeah, that'll work. Huh, y'have? For me it's the opposite. Some days I can't keep asleep after uh... something like four in the morning.

My friend Raphael, an angel of healing, once suggested emotional fatigue could affect physical energy over a longer time than its source lasts.

*He didn't get it. His sleep schedule had been erratic on Earth but that's because his activity schedule was. In Meridian, he'd had a perfectly normal sleeping pattern. But here? It hadn't been long before he began sleeping long hours. But by that logic, shouldn't the weight of immortality have caused him to sleep longer in Meridian as well?*

Makes sense. Reminds me of things they say about traumatic events.

*Enoch tilts his head a little, at that.* What do they say?

*His world didn't exactly have psychological science yet. Sure, psychological phenomena were known, but they weren't known in any medical way, and collected data was haphazard and filled with bias at best.*

They can affect ya for years after. I've seen some of the people I used to work with go that way. Some people get it so bad they're never the same. Just kinda leaves a mark on ya, y'know? Flashbacks, nightmares, reacting like you're still in the trauma. I even heard of one guy that completely forgot about one incident because it'd been so mind blowing he couldn't deal with it. Sometimes it's not so dramatic, just little things about a person. Like not liking candy all of a sudden.

[Shrug.]

Intense fears. This place is great for 'em.

Yes, I've heard of all those. I suppose I never thought...

*He trails off. Thought what? That he'd experience any of those things because he never thought about it? No, that's not it... He doesn't know what it is he'd overlooked, but he knows he should have known this.*

Huh?

[Reno lifts an eyebrow, waiting to see if Enoch's going to finish.]

*Finally, he shakes his head.* I never thought to think of myself like that, I suppose.

*He's already experienced almost completely forgetting something (and then having Jason restore it, that was...of questionable intelligence but it did lead him to the right conclusion prematurely).*

Nobody ever does until it happens to 'em. Some of the military guys I knew... well, this kinda shit changes people. Don't know what to say, Enoch...

[And this is where he feels a little bit helpless.]

If you got someone you can trust, try talkin' to them. Who knows, might help, might not. Ya might wind up saying things you never expected.

I do have someone...he's on his world now, though. I'm not certain I want to talk about anything after he's experienced that.
