There didn't seem to be and in a way it was more terrifying than the battle had been. At least then they had been doing something, instead of trapped, helpless, waiting for their doom.

He breathed, in and out and almost missed the next question. "I'm alright... I'm in control." Mostly, he could feel the darkness of his mind, of madness and rage and fear, waiting in his shadow for him to fall into it but he was clinging to the now, to Xion in the cage three down from his, to Diarmuid's voice. Nothing would come of giving in and so he was forcing himself into calmness.

"Good. Just hang in there. We need you to stay with us and you can do it. Is there anything I can do to help?" He is proud of how well Shion is doing so far, but he needs to make sure the boy can keep hanging in there. That last death...need to be the last death. Expecting any more second chances after what just happened is a fool's game.

"Xion's hurt. She probably told you that and once we get out of here, she's going to need your help. You can do that, right?"

"I don't know..." Just being there and talking was probably the best that could be done when they were stuck in these cages.

"I know... I tried to help her but I can't do much from here, she's resting at the moment." Glancing over to check she was doing that and hadn't sat up again.

"Good. She was through a lot before this. Resting will do her good. What about you? Can you get some rest?" To be honest, between the three of them, Diarmuid has had the most 'rest,' since he was guarding the healers and the wounded on the hidden floor when this happened. That might explain why he can't even consider resting right now.

"She will need your help more once we are moving from here. It might be a good idea to save up some extra energy just in case."

"I've rested plenty." A spark of bitterness crept into his voice, he was angry at himself for dying and not being there when Xion could have needed him. He sat down anyways, wincing a little. He had a gash on his leg, it seemed Ruana was not as good as Jason as putting people back together. But it wasn't too deep and he had seen to it as best he could.

"Does anyone have a plan?"

"Death is hardly a rest, Shion. Especially if you are being angry at yourself over it. Let it go. What is done, is done. We need to focus on making a plan because no, I don't believe anyone has come up with one yet. We are all stuck on finding a way out of the cells first," Diarmuid guesses that could be a plan of sorts, but so fair finding that way out has proven impossible.

"I know more than one person has searched their cells carefully to see if they can find a way out. What about you? Does anything catch your eyes?"

Shion shrugged, it was rest enough but he didn't argue. He had learned quickly there was no arguing with Diarmuid, he was very much like Reno in that way.

If no one had found a way out then Shion was sure there wasn't one, but he looked anyways. It was something to do and it was something he could do.

He looked around, looking for any kind of weak spots. "I assume people have tried smashing the glass..."

"Yes, hitting anything too hard, but especially the openings to the cells causes a painful shock. It doesn't matter if what you hit it with is your body or a weapon. I have to admit. These are some pretty escape-proof cells, but there has to be something. Something we are missing..." Diarmuid sighs, starting to look over his cell again.

"What are we missing?"

Shion moved closer to the walls of the cell, checking the joints. He made sure to keep his movements gentle, not really wanting to be shocked. But he felt along them, testing them for weak spots.

"Have you ever been in a cage like this before?"

"No, I haven't," Diarmuid freely admits as he watches Shion. "Are these cells familiar to you? Have you been in one before?"

Diarmuid isn't sure if he is comforted or concerned by the idea that these cells might have been used before. On one hand, if they were used before, there is more chance people might be able to find a way out. On the other, the fact that no one has yet...is not promising...

"No. But I know others have and this was how they described them. They were used when Jason experimented on people and I believe people have been put in them as punishment for fighting administrators before."

He hasn't heard of any way out from what people have said in the past.

Diarmuid swears softly under his breath. If Jason used them, then it is pretty likely there is no way for them to break out. Jason would not have risked something like that happening while he was having his...fun. Might they really be stuck here?

No, he won't let himself think that. Something will happen...

"Perhaps the power keeping them going will fail before time runs out. We might be able to get out then..."

"Perhaps, hopefully it will be a gradual fail. The glamour is already out so hopefully non essential use will fail first."

Not the best method since it would give them very little time, but better than the alternative.

Diarmuid forces himself to calm down and then nods, "We won't have much time, but as long as we are ready to move when it happens, it is better than being stuck here until the very end."

It might sound like he is reading Shion's mind, but at the moment, he is really trying to convince himself this will work, because there seems like there are no other options...

"Maybe we should spread the word, let people know that they have to be ready if that happens. Come up with a plan of things to do if we can escape like that." If they had a plan it would be easier to adjust for whatever did happen, rather than coming up with an entire plan on the spot.

"Good idea, Shion. Plus, it will give people who don't have anything to do at the moment, something to focus on to keep them from giving up or panicking," he gives the boy a proud look. "You start on your side and I'll start on mine."

Shion smiled and nodded, "Alright." He moved across the cage to the far wall and waved to get the person's attention. Glad to be doing something. He was definitely someone for whom action was better than being left to panic.
