Man, how does a super mutant even party. Fawkes spent 200 years locked in a vault and like...three days out in the open in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. He can barely remember slivers of fragments of any of his human life, if anything, so such a concept is rather lost on him - but, he told Molly he would be here. He probably looks like a big awkward bouncer.

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-11-29 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Big awkward bouncer or not, he's someone Naminé recognizes, so even if they don't know each other well, he's still an easier person to say hello to than any of the people she's never met at all. So, here, Fawkes, have a tiny wallflower waving at you.

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-11-30 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Fawkes waves back, wandering over to the girl. "It is good to see you here, miss. Are you doing alright?" The things with the terminals had been rather unsettling, and this girl did seem to be a great deal more easily-rattled than him.

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-12-01 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
She steps forward a bit to meet him, although with a much shorter stride she's probably covering a lot less of the distance than he is. Her smile was at the ready when she waved and now is still in place as she laces her fingers together in front of her. "It's good to see you, too...! And-- yes, I am." Definitely more so than she was, anyway. Her smile falters just a bit under the weight of the concern creeping into her expression when she says, "...What about you?"

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-03 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"I am also well - nothing ill seems to have come of my...outburst. Perhaps our keepers were understanding, as one was saying that it was a glitch..." A pause, then he shrugs. "Either way, it is in the past, and not a cause for worry anymore."

th-that icon *A*

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-12-03 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Her relieved sigh is nearly inaudible, but not quite. "Good...! I'm glad." At least, nothing's happened yet. Thinking that nothing will is much more comforting, though. "Hopefully it will stay that way." The slight tension in her brow suggests that there's some lingering concern, but the rest of her expression is relaxed.

It is my new favorite icon. <3

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-03 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"As am I." After all given what happened to those who did nothing wrong, there's no telling what they would do to someone as punishment here...

Fawkes nods. "Likewise. I will not let my guard down completely, but I would assume if they intended to do something, it would have been done by now."

It is the best icon. <333

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-12-03 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Her thoughts exactly. Her nod back after that last comment is a bit slow and a bit thoughtful. "...They might be distracted by whatever's really going on." Although whether or not that's a good things is debatable. "They might not even have noticed anything happened... or they just haven't gotten to it yet."

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-04 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
Fawkes nods. "Perhaps that is so - thus why I will remain wary." He looks around for a moment, then back to Naminé. "However, this is supposed to be a fun event, I am told. Perhaps it is best to put those worries away for a little while."

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-12-04 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
"--Oh!" She has the decency to look sheepish, her brow knitting. Her laced hands rise a bit before she adds a sincere, "I'm sorry...! You're right. I just-- got distracted. Now's not the time." She's so used to having something or someone to worry about that it's a tough habit to break.

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-06 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Worrying is fine, but not all the time. Moderation is key."

He glances up, around, then back to Naminé. "However, I am afraid I am at a loss of what is done at 'parties'."

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-12-06 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
She nods decisively, making note to remind herself of that. Her fussing won't help anyone if she does it at the wrong time. Her eyes drift downward and then come suddenly back up when she's addressed again. ...And up, since his face is pretty high, at least compared to her. "Me, too." She takes her turn to glance at the other partygoers. "I've been wondering that. I... guess it involves socializing, but other than that, I'm not sure."

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Fawkes glances out at the other partygoers for a bit, before turning his attention back to Naminé. "The current thing appears to be dancing, but I am afraid I lack the grace to pull that off." Plus, the last thing we need to see is a pop-locking super mutant...

"I see you got dragged to this party as well."

Erik moved over to stand next to Fawkes. They hadn't spoken since their first encounter, but it wasn't difficult to find that sort of man in a crowd. And he was someone that Erik had actually enjoyed speaking with.

So at least the party could provide him a chance to reconnect.

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-11-30 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Fawkes shakes his head. "I was not dragged - young miss Molly invited me. It strikes me as odd to have a party now, but children will be children, I suppose." He pauses a moment, then looks down directly at Erik. "Did you ever find the person you sought?"
token_vengeance: (stare at you)

[personal profile] token_vengeance 2011-12-02 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes they will--but I don't think we should encourage this behavior." Erik sighs, taking another sip of his drink. "Reality of the situation is more important than feeling 'happy' as she likes to put it."

Focusing on his other question he nods, once, then gestures to where Charles is currently sitting. "I did."

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-03 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"It is... Something that I feel conflicted about, to be honest." He draws in a breath, then sighs. "The world I come from is a wreck, a wasteland. A place where people live in fear for their lives on a daily basis. Coming here, and seeing children actually acting like children instead of just smaller adults... It seems a shame to destroy that, but that may be for the best in the end."

Fawkes follows the gesture, then nods. "Ah, then it was who I thought it was! Good, good."

[personal profile] token_vengeance 2011-12-04 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
"...Fawkes, this place is going to destroy that. Not us. It's better she 's prepared for whats to come. We're all working to leave, but we can't be optimistic on that." He lets out a breath, free hand clenching at his side. He lost his childhood a long time ago.

"And trust me, I know what you are speaking of. Staying childish would get you killed, easily, where I grew up."

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-04 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
There's a short bit before Fawkes lets out a heavy sigh, rubbing his face. "I am quite aware. I suppose nostalgia is clouding my judgement here. It would be better for her and the other children to lose such naivete..."

He glances aside, watching the dancing people while sighing again. "However, that does not mean that I must like it."
token_vengeance: (bright eyes)

[personal profile] token_vengeance 2011-12-04 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, you don't have to like it." Erik shakes his head. "But it's for their sake. And if we can stop this tower--if we can stop these people here, now--we can save other children from their fate."

He looks over at Fawkes, seriously. "We fight for the future, my friend. There is nothing more important than that."

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-06 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
"You are correct, my friend," Fawkes answers, posture straightening as his determination becomes a bit more steeled by Erik's words. "For the future, to prevent others from sharing our fates."
token_vengeance: ([c/e] you cant stop me)

[personal profile] token_vengeance 2011-12-09 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Agreed." Erik raised his glass of punch as a toast, taking a long drink. For men...for mutants like them, that was the only option. Their lives had been ripped away, defined at an early age by someone other than themselves.

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That gesture seemed vaguely familiar, and after a few long moments, Fawkes got a glass from a nearby table, returning the toasting motion.

He drinks - a bit awkwardly, but he manages - then looks to Erik. "I suppose the big question is how."
token_vengeance: (gtfo of the room)

[personal profile] token_vengeance 2011-12-10 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"...I don't know, yet." Erik frowned slightly. He hated that he had no idea how to get out of here yet--not one clue.

[identity profile] lucidmutant.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmm. Hopefully, some way might make itself known to us soon, then." Hopefully. Hopefully he wouldn't be trapped in a prison again for another ungodly long period.
