Setting: Floor 6, the forest
Format: Prose
Summary: Terezi's been jilted by Bluekat and needs a little mustard love.
Warnings: None.

Sollux usually didn't spend a lot of time in the forest on Floor 6, but the lack of computers might have been making him antsy. For once, he felt like walking around for a bit, and a forest seemed like the best place to do some walking.

After half an hour of pushing branches aside, tripping on roots, and blasting wild fauna, he wondered why he had ever thought this was a good idea.

He scowled at the mockery and giggling, but not too much. He did want to cheer her up. "What?"

"Go defend my honor and beat on him for me," she responded, grinning. "Two scrawny wrigglers fighting would be the best thing ever."

Sollux scowled. "Ath much ath I want to help you, are you thaying that you can't beat him up yourthelf? Anyway, I would beat him in ten thecondth."

Terezi laughed again, poking at his ribs. "Of course I can! He is a complete wimp. I just don't think you could."

"Don't be thtupid," Sollux growled. "I have pthionic powerth, and he ith a thkinny wriggler."

She reached up to pinch at the skin of his cheek, tilting her head. "You seem like a pretty skinny wriggler yourself!"

He yellowed a little. "Yeah, but I'm a thkinny wriggler with powerth."

"He has powers too, right?" She grinned, wiggling away from him. "But yours are cooler."

"If hith powerth are like Vrithkath, he'll only be able to uthe them on me half the time," Sollux said, tugging her back. "I only need a thecond to throw him againtht a wall."

"Ooooh, so strong!" She sing-songed, allowing herself to be pulled back. "Watch out, Captor, I think I am getting a case of the vapors!"

"Hey, no!" He draws away a bit. "You are not manipulating me into going after him for you. You aren't vulnerable to hith powerth, are you?"

She rolled her eyes. "Of course it doesn't, stupid. And if I were really trying to manipulate you, you would already be doing it!"

"No I wouldn't, becauthe I'm not that eathy." Poke. "Tho really. What are you going to do?"

She swatted at his hand as she considered that. "Maybe punch him, and then give him a chance to apologize. He sort of did, but not completely. And if he doesn't, then I guess I will sic my lusus on him!"

"Well then you don't need me," Sollux said, leaning back against the tree once more. "Ekthept ath a shoulder to cry on."

She wrinkled her nose and gave him a little push, pulling away. "I am not crying!"

"You might, later," Sollux said, grinning a little.

That totally earned him a punch on the arm, and no other response.

Sollux was silent for a few moments, then reached out and touched her shoulder again. "Thorry. Come on. Let'th go find him, together."

That got another frown out of her, and she tilted her head at him. "Why? Want to watch me punch him, too?"

"I don't really care about theeing it that much," Sollux said, shrugging. "I'm jutht...your friend."

She hesitated for a moment, silent, before leaning forward to hug him tightly. "We don't have to find him. Thanks, Sollux."

He blinked at the hug, but wrapped his arms around her in return, squeezing. "Whatever you thay," he said, a bit mystified by the reaction.

She was smiling when she pulled away, and took his hands. "So, enough about Karkat! What were you looking for in here?"

"I wathn't really looking for anything." His eyes kept dropping to look at their clasped hands. "Other than the monthterth, it theemed nithe here, and I hear forethtth are good for walking. I jutht needed thome air."
