Setting: Room 2-14 and Floor 14
Format: Action is vastly preferred, but I'll prose if you want. Just be warned - prose tags take me a lot longer.
Summary: Yosuke arrives! Derping ensues.

Room 2-14

[Yosuke's never been quick to wake up - unless it's someone waking him up in the middle of class. Laying in bed an extra few minutes is normal. What's not normal is the bed, the room, or anything about this place. And then panic ensues! What we end up with is one Yosuke trying his best to keep calm as he takes in these strange surroundings in a slight panic]

What the hell?! Who's idea of a joke is this!

Floor 14

[Yosuke - now dressed in his usual threads, headphones around his neck, has found his way to the entertainment room. He doesn't feel particularly jolly though, and rather than enjoy the entertainment he's sprawled on a couch, looking up and contemplating the last few hours of his life]

[Shion takes the hand and shakes it, still smiling] Nice to meet you Yosuke Hanamura [What a long name!] I'm Shion, it is nice to meet you as well!

Just Yosuke is fine! No need to get formal or anything.

So Shion, why not tell me a little about yourself? Take both our minds off of this place for a little while.

"Yoksuke," He replied wondering if it was the boys culture than meant he only used half his name. He blinked at the question but smiled, "Well I am sixteen and I come from No. 6, well the West Town now i guess." He said, "Which city do you come from?"

[Number 6? West town? The odds of this kid being from the same place as Yosuke seem slim to none]

I live in a little middle-of-nowhere town called Inaba, in Japan. Uh, which country is West Town in?

[Shion blinked, and blinked again.] Japan? [He sounds so confused because, nobody used that name anymore, all the countries were gone, there were only the six cities. There were no such things a little middle-of-nowhere towns, not anymore...]

How can that be?

[Well! Not the question he was expecting! Forgive Yosuke for looking slightly taken back]

Well I was born in Japan! Inaba wasn't exactly my idea, but my dad was transferred there so we didn't really get a choice.

Oh... [He nods still looking confused] Where did you live before?

The big city...

[Yosuke trails off, noticing the boy's confusion]

What's wrong?

It's just... [He doesn't know how to say this without sounding rude or like he is calling Yosuke a lier] Japan doesn't exist anymore... It existed a long time ago but not now... I don't understand how it is possible for you to be from there.

[Cue awkward silence! And then-]

... you're joking, right?

No [He looked even more confused] There are only the cities, six of them. They are all that are left.

[What in the world...]

But I just left Japan! It was fine! I mean yeah it had problems, but it was there!

But... [He looked completely confused, he didn't know what to say, he didn't know what was going on, how this could be. None of this was logical at all. Shion stood staring at Yosuke in complete disbelief, unable to even start to think about what could be going on here.]

[He sits in silence, confused even as the gears are turning in his head. Finally, he asks the one question that even remotely makes sense]

... what year is it?

[Shion blinks, could this man be from the past? That didn't seem possible, but... nothing was making much sense at the moment so...]

It's year two thousand and thirteen.

[He's quiet for a moment, piecing it together]

When I left my home, it was two thousand and twelve. So either you're from the future and my life is really about to suck, or we're not from the same place.

[Shion's eyes widened and he shook his head]

No this... This happened before I was even born, a long time ago...

[He blinks] Do you mean... a different planet?

[princeofjunes]

I- ... I'm not sure?

Different planet, different world, different universe - hell, I guess anything's possible? I mean, back home there was a different world inside of TV's! Who knows?

Worlds inside TV's? [Shion's voice was quiet as he repeated what Yosike had just said.

None of this made any sense, surely they would know about the existance of other universes... was this something that had been known by the elite and kept hidden from the rest of them?

Shion didn't speak as he tried to process all of the information.]

I... think that one might be special to where I come from, but yeah - there was a totally different world inside of TV's. Like, an actual physical world we could go to. Well, some of us could go to.

[Shion only vaguely knew what a TV was, but he knew they had been around before computers, still a real physical world inside of electronic equiptment?]

You went to this world?

[One of these days, he needs to get Naoto to write up an explanation he can just hand to people - he's terrible at this]

A lot, yeah. My friends and I were trying to save people trapped inside. It's a long story.

[There's a slight hesitation before he answers]

Once we figured out what was going on, yeah. Every single one.
